Levo Spaceport RPG

Rivay looked at the incoming transmissions from Levo and grimaced. 8 Rebel Cruisers had entered the system and set up a perimeter. He would have no way of escpaing them. Except for the fact they'd have no chance in hell of catching him.

----

Levo

As Rivays scoutship entered the system, a signal went out, apparently from every com satelite in the system. It was a silent message, video only.

Slowly, the pictures of the murdered guards of the Levo Militia appeared, pictures taken from the Levo coroners office. A single caption framed all of them.

"The work of the brave Rebel operative"

And unknown to the Rebels in the system, the pictures were being delivered to every independant planet in the galaxy.

---

Rivay had his plan worked out perfectly. The Rebel cruisers had a chance in hell of catching him, the destroyers couldn't keep up, and the mantas top speed was still below the what his scoutship could give. That and he wouldn't have to wait long to be rescued.

Setting course for the outer system, Rivay looked at the tactical monitor and watched the mantas fall out of missile range rather quickly. Even if they ahd fired, they wouldnt have gotten a single hit on the mobile scoutship with advanced ECM system.

The Rebels had made a big mistake occupying an independant system. They would regret it.

Javaed allowed himself a private smile in his recently hired apartment, watching the telescreen. The Rebel's attack on Levo posed little to no threat against him, and even if Javaed hadn't hidden every trace of his true identity - ever - then he would say not a word to the Rebels, under any torture. He would not even say he was a Confederation Secret Police agent; he would instead say nothing at all. That he was a Confederate would be assumed anyway, so there was no fear whatsoever of the truth coming out. But all of his thoughts were just mere speculation, the tiniest possibility if he had ever slipped up. Which he hadn't.

The telescreen was not INN, which was, in fact, not particularly popular. INN was well known for its Rebellion bias, and quite a number of people had reason to suspect they outright lied in many circumstances. The Confederate's news network, the Terran Interstellar News, was not much better. However, everybody Independant and with the slightest intelligence relied on the New Istanbul News, New Istanbul being the seat of the High Court of all independant worlds.

And the news on the NIN was quite promising. "The deaths of numerous innocent Levons, the attempted assassination of the Levon prime minister, and various other incidents have convinced every last court member that the Rebellion are corrupt. As of today, New Istanbul, New Ireland, New Scotland, Sauron and Maxwell's Purchase have all announced that no Rebel ships may pass through their respective systems. Maxwell's Purchase has followed Levo in requesting the Confederation's military support and a Confederate advisor, and all other aforementioned independant worlds have announced that at any Rebel offence, they will also side with the Confederation, including New Istanbul."

"In addition, the Rebel's own worlds are beginning to lose morale. The populace of Guiron and Zigra have recently stated a request for independance, and there have been riots in a dozen Rebel worlds."

"It should be now noted that any Rebel ships passing through any of the independant worlds will be fired upon immediately, without question."

Overjoyed, Javaed enjoyed a rare and expensive drink and began to wonder about his next engineering job, rewiring a shuttlecraft's engines to provide 125 au/h more speed, and how he could continue disrupting the Rebellion. The prime minister messed up slightly, but that should be okay. If the Rebellion try to land on Levo, or cause any more damage than they already have, they'll collapse from the inside. Guiron and Zigra won't be the only systems requesting independance, and Zaxted are on the brink of taking the Confederation's side. Heheh...all it requires now is a little push in the third direction, and I'm all set. Sorry you had to die for this, Landane, but what must be, must be.

Eventually, Javaed settled with creating wild and mostly untrue rumours about the Rebel's evil plots, which could, of course, not be traced back to him. Rumours can be publically disproved, but the effect will always remain, and it might just push the people a little closer to the brink... This is almost too smooth. Almost all of Levo agrees with their prime minister, and the next election is years off.

There was another thing tickling Javaed. Somebody had tried to land without being noticed, his ship noted as the Chimera. The militia had been on him in a second, even without Javaed and Talsir gentling pushing them in the right direction. The place where even now the captain of the Chimera slept was being monitored by an elite anti-terrorism team. A device was set up at his door. When he opened it, it would trigger a sensor which would fire a laser which would knock him unconscious. If he tried the windows first, he would suffer the same fate. There was no way of avoiding the lasers, and no way of detecting them.

The anti-terrorism team had a lock on his vital signs that could not be broken, and they could not be seen or detected themselves without it being too late. Their vital signs were masked. If the man was knocked unconscious, he would find himself in a room with no doors, walls two metres thick, and a shoot that delivered a sloppy liquid meal. He would be stripped naked and searched while unconscious, and have nothing on him when he woke. He could not wake earlier; not from the laser.

Tempest regained conciousness and this time was able to move. The drugs were wearing off. Obviously, something had kept this ship from reaching its destination on time, assuming the destination was Levo. They should at least be in the system by now.

So far everything had been working perfectly. The rebel fleet at Levo would create just the right amount of negative attantion for the Rebellion that we needed. Those papers would be signed. Tempest thought about how he would easily be watching it all on the Holo-vid right now but of course something like this always happens.

He sat up, trying to ignore the pain caused by the electric collar around his neck. He looked around. Skyblade and Firefox still haden't come out of their sleep yet. Tempest, although shackeled up, puled himself behing a couple boxes and reached behind his neck. Implaneted in the collar of his shirt was a small transiever, generally undetectable.

He opened it up and locked in the Confederate cloaked channel. He then sent out his message to the Capella system.

"U.S.S. Saratoga, this is agent Tempest. I meant to deliver the rebels at the rendez-vous point in the Kathoon system, but I ran into a little....bounty hunter trouble. Stand by for my orders, Tempest out."

Now well rested, he hop out from his bed and proceed down the stairs. What he find there was not what he had expected at all. At the entrance to the Inn stand two Levo Officers who seem to be conversing with the Inn keeper. Could they be? NO! Why would they come to a simple Inn?

"Damn it all!" He speak under his breath.

He prey that they are not looking for him, but soon they step into the Inn, lead by the Maid from when he had checked in. Quickly he dart up the stairs and unsheath his beam saber. A humm is heard and then the beam of green light emits. He now stand ready for the two officers to approach.

"Captain Starwind!" The one guard speak in a grough tone.

"Show yourself now!" Speak the other in a demanding tone.

What does he do now? The wench has ratted him out, and he have Levo law enforcement after him. He hear the tapping of feet walk towards his room. At that instance he leap out and jab the end of the pommel into one of the guards groin. In that same split second, he spin around towards the other guard and knock the laser pistol from his hand with the tip of his blade. The blade is so hot that the gun has melted to a point of being useless.

"You'll have to catch me first fool!" Staron run into his room and leap through an open window. It would be a long way down and the fall would be murder on his legs. His descent grow quicker and then he land upon the concrete. One foot catch himself on the ground and his other knee slam down. Slowly he stagger up to his feet just as the two bewildered officers make their way out back. Regaining his balance, Staron take off as fast as he can to a bar about two blocks down.

------------------

Unfortunately for Tempest, while a slight power surge caused by leaving hyperspace had meant the bio monitoring systems blanked out for several seconds, it hadnt lasted long. The shunts plugged into his system reactivated and began pumping him full of drugs which quickly knocked him back out.

---

Rivay had looked at the Rebel fleet getting further and further behind him, and it really was rather funny. He could have left the system anytime now, but it seemed best to lead the Rebels on a goose chase.

"Warning:Confederate signal detected emitting from cargo bay #2. ECM adjusting to counter partial failure"

Rivay turned to the monitor of the prisoners, and it seemed one of them had moved. A quick check showed that Tempest had had his shunt interuppted due to a power surge, but the problem had been corrected. The only thing to find out now was why Tempest was using a secure Confederate channel. And why Rivay hadnt known about him.

Frowning, Rivay activated the Level 6 Prisoner containment. Hatches opened in the walls, and out of them came telescopic poles. Within seconds each prisoners handcuffs had been welded to a belt placed round the waist. On Tempest, a circular piece of metal had been burnt into his skin, covering the transmitter. It wouldnt be comfortable, but the prisoners didnt count in this case.

They would not be conversing with the innkeeper. They would have tracked you down, know where you were, and be outside -- out of sight.

Professionals don't do this. They would have blown the entire building up if you got so far.

1. You would not hear them moving (any old fool can make no noise, even among dry leaves, and sound dampeners aren't exactly rocket science in such a day.)

2. Ever heard of guns? And have you forgotten the laser? A sword doesn't have the range of a gun - you'd be shot dead.

IN THE CAPELLA SYSTEM:

Admiral Spencer stood on the bridge of the U.S.S. Saratoga, staring at the viewscreen. The Confed cruiser usually is under the command of a captain, but was currently acting as the 3rd Confederate Defense Fleet's flagship. Admiral Spencer was given position of fleet command.

A loud beeping noise came from one of the stations and the comms officer looked up to the admiral, "Incoming transmission, audio only, on a secure Confederate channel sir."

The admiral walked over to the post, "Put it through," he said.

A bit of crackling occured before the voice of Tempest could be heard. The admiral listened to the entire message, "wait for his order..." he said in a soft voice. Then he turned towards the NAV station, "Can you locate the source of that transmission?"

The NAV officer punched up a few buttons before lifting his eyes from the screen, "The Levo system sir, I can't pinpoint exactly."

The admiral looked back at the viewscreen and sat in his chair, "Tell the fleet that they should be ready to move. Have course set to the Levo system. We will jump in one hour."

Ship # 1346." he enters the bar and sees someone that he knew before. Stardust walks to him "Lucas how is the Artimas Group doing?"
"not so good" He replys in a sad tone "the confederati=on fired on us as soon as we entered this system They killed everyone but me. I barley escaped."
"Damn Confeds did you hear the levo gonverment is goeing confed."

Starblazer, the rebelion general was waiting in his ship: PirateBane's lounge. He was a shady rebel, sometimes doing things a normal rebel wouldnt generally do, for in fact, he was recieving tribute from all but two confederate systems, he had an extreme amount of influence, and, due to the fact that he had a heavily modified rebel cruiser with powerful escorts, including three confederate frigates, a confederate gunboat, and two corvettes, he was also very powerful. )( and yes, i really have a pilot like this)( The rebels couldnt spare to lose him, wich is why he could pretty much do anything, nothing too extreme, though, sure he had taken over confed ships and drained money from confed systems, but he didnt touch rebel systems, or independant systems, for that matter, he had a sense of dignity.

Hyperspace was boring for him, for he had seen it countless times, a very experienced pilot. All of a sudden, the collision alarm beeped. "what the-" yelled Starblazer, he was cut off as he lept out of hyperspace and seared off a scoutship's top stabilizer. "What does he think he's doing flying this far out into space?" His question turned to an answer in his mind as he saw 20 mantas beaming towards him. Ahh, time to help out my rebel freinds, he thought, however, the scoutship had already gained control from the spin Starblazer had put him in and was rapidly escaping... This is no ordinary scoutship....

Starblazer was intent on not letting him escape, letting out his 4 mantas and 2 hawk fighters he quickly launched his tractr beam at the scoutship, just in time, fo the scoutship was right on the edge of the beam... but not too far, for the confed frigates launched three heavy rockets right up his tailbooster.

"What kind of a ship is this? yelled Starblazer, because the scoutship had only lost 50 percent of it's sheilds. He immediateley started tearing away at the ship with his 4 proton turrets. The scoutship immediateley reacted by launching some sort of beam right at Starblazer's nose, which almost cut through the sheilds, but thankfully didnt. It did however, give the scouthip enough thust to escape the tractor beam, and begin to fly away, thankfully, the mantas had cought up by now, and began firing missiles at the scoutship...

"just as thes coutship was out of any projectile range, Starblazer heard his comm buzz..."

"Prepare to meet your doom, Starblazer!" Said a bounty hunter kestrel while launching it's lightnings.

"sigh, another yuppy bounty hunter come to kill me because I have a system under trinute...." sighed Starblazer, he wasnt in he mood to put up with any scoutship on steroids at the moment, so he let it go, unknowing of the cargo it held...

Cupelix's Stats :

Rebel Cruiser (R.S.S. Agamemnon): Shield upgrades, all armor upgrades, full compliment of Manta fighters, cloaking device, tractor beam, maxed proton turrets and cannons, 2 missile launchers, 2 torpedo launchers, 1 heavy rocket launcher, missile jammer, 1 space-bomb launcher, engine upgrade, RCS upgrade, thrust enhancer

Escorts: 2 Rebel Destroyers

Cupelix: Combat rating of Deadly, the bane of space pirates, holds a legal standing of 'Galactic Scourge' in many Confederate systems, legal standing of 'Upstanding Citizen' nearly everywhere else

)(

Cupelix patiently holds with the rest of the blockade around Levo, intent on making the truth known.

A Confederate Frigate had just jumped into the system as another wave of Levo defenders tested the Rebellion fleet.

"Long range missile launch detected" warned the computer on Cupelix's bridge. "Destroyer 1, break formation and go after those Defenders, try to disable one" he commanded one of his escorts. The missile approached the Agamemnon swiftly, but was spoofed by the on-board missile jammer, and arced into space exploding in a brilliant flash.

The destroyer targeted one of the approaching defenders and fired a torpedo. The glowing projectile struck the small craft head-on. The Defender held together well and did not explode, but was crushed into thousands of pieces by the impact of the torpedo. Switching to missiles, the Rebel Destroyer fired upon the nearest Defender. The tiny ship was instantly crippled on impact. Cupelix engaged the Agamemnon's tractor beam and collected the small ship into the Agamemnon's large cargo bay. 2 security personel stormed into the cargo bay, ripped open the Defender's hatch, and hauled the pilot to the brig to be interrogated later...

Meanwhile Cupelix's escort had returned to formation, and the Confederate Frigate was obliterated exactly 6 seconds after jumping into the system. The paltry, combined attack by the Frigate and Levo militia succeeded in destroying just 1 Manta fighter. Cupelix meanwhile, made his way toward the ship's brig...

(OOC: We have the slight problem here that we're all in the same story, Staron. In case you haven't noticed, that means the same universe. And that means we read and react to posts regarding us. Javaed is a colleague of Talsir, and Talsir is the unknown and undetectable Confederate advisor to the Levo government; therefore, he more or less has control of them. Did you completely ignore the post priar to that? I've been trying to go with this "no revoke" scheme, as odd as it seems, but you ignored everything mentioned in the post before. And if you don't want to read the posts in a story, then you shouldn't be in the story in the first place, now should you?)

(OOC to Luke: Bright...very bright. Just for that, I'll strongly advise that you have your character decide not to take up the mission. I must admit, I hadn't expected you to be quite so quick. 🙂 Ah well - it was only a side-game anyway, whether or not you can land on Levo isn't too important in the whole scheme of things.)

Stardust sits in the bar talking to lucas when his 'watch' beeped. "Lucas i got to go see ya." He runs to his hanager and sees a militia man trying to steel it. He pulls out his proton rifle. He jumps to the Reigel system, centauri System, Then the Sol system and docks at Stardock Alpha.

The chatter and noise of the Pashlife spaceport bar was suddenly silenced by live news that caught everyone's attention.

"The Rebellion has put operation battlestorm through planning for years now under secrecy with the Lethe government, and it wasn't until hours ago that the Rebellion finally executed this operation as a vengence weapon for the affairs on Levo. Right now as I speak, a massive fleet of Lethe warships accompanied by their new Rebel allies are destroying all resistance in the Aries system. New Cydonian defense forces have long since been crushed because of the swiftness and surprise of the operation, and High Command tells us that approximately 90% of New Cydonia has been occupied by Lethe and Rebel forces. The alliance between Lethe and the Rebellion represents a huge boost to the war efforts against the Confederation - Lethe is one of the strongest independent systems in the galaxy, and they have vowed to assist the Rebellion in bringing the war to its end. In turn, Lethe asked that the Rebellion assist them in ending the war with their primary enemy, the Cydonians. With the Aries system now in the hands of the Alliance, the Lethe are already busy making preperations for a long war - against the Confederation and assisting their friends from the Rebellion. Evidence from the RIB now indicates that New Cydonia had, in fact, been in contact with the Confederation regarding a peace and alliance policy between the two governments. This and the happenings on Levo have played a key role in the timing of operation battlestorm. When the Lethe received the photos from Levo of murdered troopers, they accepted it as truth but compared what the Rebellion had done to the acts of the Confederation. The propaganda war has long been deemed as a book of lies for both sides of the conflict, and such acts are usually dismissed by any government as an attempt to bring someone else into the war. The Lethe have known far more than most independent systems about what really goes on within the Confederation realm of power from contact with the Rebellion, and they have rightfully named the new alliance the 'Liberation Navy.' Meanwhile, back in the-"

Levo is indeed a big part of this webstory (this certainly isn't a bar anymore), but there's nothing wrong with including the rest of the EV universe - heck, we might as well discontinue this if we're going to stay strictly with the Levo story. It's already practically come to a conclusion. RMA can't really decide what to do with my main character anyway, so I'm just hanging out until he gets back to his part of the story.

As far as making the rest of the EV universe a part of this, I'll give Tempest the final say. I just think strictly Levo will quickly get boring.)
