Actually, one of the mods declared earlier that each gov't got one new ship, which is the reason I was designing a Destroyer. I figured we should have something in between the fighter and battlecruiser; it could be a heavy fighter if we want instead.

Just a thought, but if you're not sure when to set it, and what people should have, why not base it on EVGE? Lots of extra stuff for people, and some very neat ships.

What's EVGE?
I agree we should start laying out the rules and who is mod and who isn't etc.
I've never downloaded it, so if you could get some of the statistics from EVGE, then i think it'd be a pretty good idea.

I don't think we should base it off of a plug-in. I played EVGE for a few minutes about two years ago, and then forgot about it. Basing a webstory off of a plug-in will result in confusion (people aren't intimately familiar with what's going on), and makes things more complex and difficult to manage. Furthermore, I doubt I'd have the time to thoroughly play EVGE, so I might have to retire from the webstory.

I don't think we should have any new ships either, if anything just different outfits for a ship. For example, instead of having missiles you decide to have torps instead, but as long as you don't add more than the stock ev ship can hold. Like you can't give a manta a turret and some space bombs.
BTW, could somebody post the stats for the manta, I don't have access to a mac and can't remember all the stats except that it has like 450 speed and 2 jumps and like three swivel laser cannons or something close.
