Why? I'm not the boss.

AVN- I think the middle of "AWSOME!" is a little too "un-ferazelish". Otherwise, it's great.
Yes, I would like to withdraw Awsome and use it for something else. (Which involves the middle of the OBW password :))
Those are not final names for the songs. But it doesn't matter because they will be numbers eventually.
And, Cap't of the Guard, GO AWAY!
Polish Falcon, what song?? Your new one written in one lunch period? Or the Jazz one? Or the another one in Eb Minor? Whoops, all your songs are in Eb Minor. I'd better be more descriptive.

Apparantly, my e-mail service is slow. I just got both messages.

Just letting everyone know: I don't think I'll make very many levels for OBW. 2-6, probably, including Mines 1 and Mines 2.
AVN- Another one for "The List": "Eagles may soar, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines." See the crunch tiles topic for the author.

And another "Best Sig"

Uhh..the guy who made the post didn't make that up, you know. (moocow is his ID Name) In several ambrosia games (Mars Rising, Bubble Trouble, etc.) if you option click the little bar at the bottom you get funny phrases. That's one of them. I can tell that guy is into easter eggs, because in addition to that, under "location" he wrote "middle of nowhere", which in on the "Map" control panel if you type in "mid." Sorry for all "" marks.

AVN- Nighttime in Circut City is great! Nice name, also. It's not too hard, and very fun. How many exits are there? I found one, but it said secret, so I'm not sure if there's another one also.
(This message has been edited by aschaaf_86 (edited 01-30-2001).)
Heh heh... Sorry about the name. There are two exits. One says secret and one says the end. You can see the location of the end if you look carefully in the beginning of the level.
Aschaaf, since most of the activity goes on here and not in email, I'll just notify you that you have permission to add the Jungle, Forest, Caves, and Library music files to the OBW page if you haven't already. Please don't upload haunted house, I hate it. I would be really embarrased if that was in the final version of OBW. Erase it!!!! It is not again to be seen on the face of this earth!! BWAHAHAHAHAAA!!!!!
Yes, they are all very good, except Haunted House. I especially like library. It sounds like something Cap't of the Guard would write. Only his would invole random notes because he can't read music well. (I know... Isn't he weird? He writes songs which he can't read...)
Posted elsewhere by Dr. tall: **Right now I have 28 levels. Now while that number seems quite large, it's becuase my levels are not quite as complex as the game's original levels. My levels were once described by one of my friends as "kind of liner". However my levels make up for their linerness by the immense amount of back-tracking you have to do once you qcquire certain items, but I digress. I am about 66% done with placing levels so I estimate I'll have around 45 levels once I'm finished. The figure for development being at 30% is because as of now my levels are devoid of scenery. **
Uh-Oh...
------------------ I hate it when people make spelling mistakes in there signiture.
I am working on a new level. It should either go in the section "bizzare" or "caves". I love overlay tiles. I also found a interesting use for the statue spell.
BTW, I have found a way to make a door close when a button is stepped on!!!!
Make the door. Make the button. Make another door, somewhere where it will not interfere with gameplay. Make a button beneath that door. The door you want to close will be called Door 1. The door you don't want at all will be Extra Door. The Button to be used to close the door is Button 1. The Button under Extra Door is Extra Button. Here we go: Link Extra door to Button 1. Link Door 1 to Extra button. Therefore, when Button 1 is stepped on, extra door opens, and Extra button is depressed, causing Door 1 to close! Yay! (Any easier way?)
I use this in my levels to create "traps". IMPORTANT: If the player has any escape rings when in my level, they will be able to gain an increase health powerup and an increase magic powerup, along with 20 health/magic potions. NO ESCAPE RINGS CAN BE IN THE GAME BEFORE THIS LEVEL!

Should we have any escape rings at all? I don't think the user needs any.

Actually, I was thnking that too. But I thought everyone would be opposed to it.
I HAVE CREATED AN EVIL TRAP OF DOOM! Muahahahaha...
OK, We have a problem. I think ResEdit can only handle a certain no. of PICTs before it goes insane. I put in one more tileset and it wouldn't save and when it finally did, the file wouldn't open. I had to reinstall the FW BG file! But then I realized that if I copy my tileset from a 256 color instead of Millions file, it works fine... Is this going to be a memory problem, or was it just the CLUT error? :frown:
Hey, I also found a couple BG's which aren't used... One looks like a very cloudy Storm Valley and another is a sandy meadow. Check it out.
The reason I was installing another tileset was because I have a cool idea for an underground level. Has anyone played Crash Bandicoot 3? It looks like "Tomb Wader". If you haven't, it is basically and ancient tomb type level. It has spikes and weird gold scarab beetles engraved on the walls and stuff like that. I was inspired by the SpinBlock with an engraved beetle.
I AM AN IDIOT! I don't believe I didn't know spinblocks are breakable!!! SO I turned it into a vicious trap several times....
And remember, when you finally play this new level, GREED = DEATH!!!! Heh heh heh...
I am starting a new level. It's name is ...And away! (I'll probably change it later) It is the last in a series of levels climbing the mountain below my kingdom. It's entrance is at the bottom, and it's exit is at the top left. It is right before Delusions of Mediocrity. I also have been working on the "Prison" level at the beginning, it's almost done(If anyone else wanted to do this please let me know).
We need more sand/forrest/dark woods/ice/sea/etc levels! All we have now are several fire levels, and some "wierd" levels like Delusions of Mediocrity and the Lost Mines.
We need to decide what Ferazel should have, and when.
Here are some questions, and my feelings on them:
Should Ferazel have the Fireball spell? Oh wait, he already does...
Should Ferazel have the Boomerang spell? I think he should get this very early on.
Should Ferazel have the Statue spell? Hmm... Maybe.
Should Ferazel have the V-Blade spell? I think this should be found at the bottom on the lost mines, and some levels before that would have parts that needed the V-Blade, so Ferazel would have to go back to those levels after the mines.
Should Ferazel have the Ice Wall spell? Not until after the mines. This will be given to Ferazel by the Ice kingdom ruler after he retrives a lost Zip disk from the mines for him.
Should Ferazel have the Tree Trunk spell? Please don't let him have it until after the mines.
Should Ferazel have Rez Necklaces? Hmm... Maybe... Maybe not...
Should Ferazel have the Escape Rings? No.
Should Ferazel have an Ice Pick? I think he should have it after retriving the Zip disk from the lost mines.
Ice Kingdom stuff: The Ice Palace is after about 2 Ice levels. The rest come after the palace. Ferazel refers to some object as "weighing <insert num>kilograms". This extremly offends the ruler of the Ice kingdom. He refuses to help Ferazel, does not give him anything, and does not let him get past the palace. After every other ruler, or almost every other ruler agrees to give Ferazel an Algernon piece (or Ferazel could get the pieces some other way, such as in "Summit Plummit"...), the Ice ruler agrees to give Ferazel a piece, and mentions that he (the ruler, not ferazel) lost a Zip disk in the mines. When Ferazel fetches the Zip disk (after getting through the mines using the key he got from the blacksmith after getting all Alg. Pieces), the ruler thanks Ferazel, gives him an Ice pick, the Ice Wall, and lets him play the remaining Ice levels.

Yes. Needed (maybe even inside of) "The Trap (Name will change)"
You cannot take away the ability to get more health capacity and the Rez Necklaces! Rez necklaces are MUCH better than health potions. They must exist.

Other than that, I agree completely. I like the sign on Watch Your Step!! And aschaaf, make a secret up above the wall on the left of the entrance to Watch Your Step! Spikes = boring.
Also, I have a great thing to put on a sign somewhere (mine so nobody use it): "Warning: Death can cause fatal injury." I think this will be in The Trap somewhere. I can change The Trap to a dark woods level if you want, but I made almost all the tile sets so far, somebody else make that one!
I have decded not to use the Tomb set, we need the space for Dark Woods and such. New Tech level coming up...
