Ah, thank you. The occaisional post with a couple of sentences about "here's what I've been doing the last few days" will be greatly appreciated. Even if it's "I'm getting stuck on ___" -- you may find people will give suggestions, or the very act of writing out what you're stuck on may give you ideas. We understand that you can't give some details, but even general comments and updates are a good thing.

Thank you for the welcome!
I've been lurking for a while, and just decided to register recently. I really enjoyed the demo version of the software.
This is not so much a glitch, but it looks mac os9ish...
------------------
Allready some people mentioned the quicktime ant mp3 bug on winme and win98 (they wont play).
But the main problem with quicktime in general is that it can only be used by performing a 'trick' because Quicktime movies will only play against a black background.
In order to play a QT movie you have to create a black map and two scripts to play it, one who gets you there, the other that brings you back.
It would of course be way better if QT movies could simply be played in a popup window.
(One of the great advantages of Coldstone compared to other 'similar'products is that it can play QT movies, MP3 files and has great graphics handling - 32 bit with alpha. I havent seen a program like this on windows. Well, Director might be better at a lot of points but it does not have the same ease of use and as of yet I have not found an easy way to create the same type of maps.)

That's a good start. Maybe you could pick a day of the week, like every Friday, to update us on your progress. That would be very handy!

So what's going on Carm? Do you think you'd be able to post updates on a weekly basis? Mondays & Fridays are both pretty good days to do updates

Please don't push this, XxtraLarGe. Nobody likes a nag. I'm sure we will be informed when some progress has been made. I don't think I want to hear, "Sorry, there's no light at the end of the tunnel yet." I would rather wait to hear when something positive has happened.

Hear, Hear! Let the woman do her work......Rome wasn't built in a day you know, either was Coldstone......never mind. It'll take some time nonetheless.

I'm not nagging. I was trying to bump the message to make sure it didn't get lost in the mix, as there was no response from Carm.

That's nice that you feel that way. I don't. I've been burned before (if you saw my original post), and I don't want to develop false hope that it will be a viable game development environment. As a registered Coldstone user, I think I've got the right to know what's going on with development. I paid my $50. I shouldn't be told not to ask for regular updates by a moderator.

Does that make you somehow special here? Sit down. You're being niosy and rude. Just because you want a weekly update doesn't mean it's going to happen. You are not the one paying Carm to do her job. She has no obligation to you more than anyone else here.
The thing is he is saying that he (like a lot of us) have invested money in CS. We would just like to see how things are going and if progress is being made. If it is only a simple short post like "I am working on fixing the engine source code" or something like that. I think we all feel this way as we have been starved of info for so long

That is understandable, Pilky, and his post on 1/7/04 said that adequately. The post on 1/12/04, only five days later, comes across as belligerent. Let's all cool down and let what happens, happen.
And let us let Carm post a new thread when she's ready. This one's run it's course.
