Is there some program I can download that let's me create NPCs?

What do you mean? If you want to create pog-style NPCs you should change an existing one using photoshop. I dont think thats too much work, but you will need the skills. Poser is a good choice I think, but I have only made some things with it, no characters. So I dont know very much about how to use poser...
Good luck

Thanks :).
I don't exactly understand you, but I'm gonna guess that you mean making graphix for the NPC animations.
There isn't exactly a program made specifically for CGE NPC's. There are, however, a vast array of tools at your disposal. From what I've heard on this board, Poser seems to be the choice program. I have also heard of a program with a name something along the lines of Cinema4D... I think.
These however, require skills in 3-d modeling (Although I know you can download pre-made Poser models), which only a select few have. If you have less skill and/or your NPC's animations are simple enough, you can use a program like Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, or even Graphic Converter. I have also heard of Appleworks being used, but I wouldn't reccomend it :/.
Good luck!

That happens to be what I use for all of my picture editing/converting needs. It's cheap, it works, and you only need to use the pencil, lasso, and maybe the paint can to get any job done. I have never used it for CGE graphics. The only drawback is that you are limited to 256 colors with the pencil.
For converting or creating pictures, I just paste a graphic in Drawing Mode and save it as a JPEG, which just about everyone can read.

I doubt that you'll be able to get a modeling program that's any good for free. Buying Poser is a good way to go and will save you a lot of headaches. Sorry.

First of all I now know that the NPC wizard is that program that's inside coldstone you open it by clicking on the "create NPC" button in coldstone.Second of all poser costs $199 .
an NPC is a data structure not a sprite...you supply the sprites, it supplies the file to operate them...
the npc wizard is a action it places npcs on the map deletes them etc, nothing makes your art.

I now know that.
I thought the NPC wizard is the thing you create NPCs with, and the NPC control action is the one that places NPCs on maps or deletes them... is it not so

I hope you mean that you purchased Poser... people tend to look upon software piracy rather harshly around here.

You may also wish to look into Maya, another 3-D modeling program. I believe they have a demo version out, since I have it on one of my Mac Addict CDs.
They also have a demo version for poser to which at the moment I am using although it is a bit complicated. And it is even harder to create monster graphics using poser.

Oh, ok. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
No prob.
