If this is indeed the problem you are experiencing then it cannot be fixed, this is a problem regarding color limitations,

you either render your graphics in actual 16bit color, or check off the true colors check box under the misc. tab in the game options dialog and hope for the best.

in short if this is your problem then memory wouldn't make more colors render.

besides when you set the memory from the game options it cannot get more memory than the actual hardware can muster, that only sets thee preferred size and the only time some one could actually operate at that speed is if they had a gb of RAM to spare.

------------------

... That staples it.

if i am using all the pre-rendered tiles(pretty much) that should this be happening?

I think we are talking about two different problems. What you show in Glenn's image is color problem.

This

is a image or memory problem

I got this once when an image wasn't in a folder, but it was on the map. I had placed it in the map, then taken it out without taking it out of the map. Then then I tried it, the map looked like this where the image would have been.

Also had a similar experience (not exactly the same) when saving from photoshop without unchecking <export alpha layer> for both the background pict and the characters pict files.Made them png aftewards, never had a problem.

I finally found a way to fix this.....As im pretty sure i said, i was using the regular tiled surface.....so what i did was just export a full sized pict file of the map withour characters and such.......then got rid of my ground, and VOILA! I think that the hole tiled thing just causes problems.... So now i hafta go do this to all my maps....

READ HOW I FIXED IT^^^^^^^^^^^

But it turns out that i cannot do this with large maps...as it does not create the map full size when it is too big...i only have ibe if these so far, but i am sure that i will have more...is there anyway that i can choose to export it as full size?

Sounds like you're going a bit overboard to me. PoG uses tiles with no problems, and I'm sure that most of the games people are working on around here do too. Perhaps a bit more troubleshooting is in order?

Of course, if you like using layered images instead of tiles, you certainly can... Just be aware of the drawbacks of doing so.

I don't know what I'm talking about.
Oh no, here comes another learning experience.
Oderint dum metuant?

I think I have realized your problem. Solution:
Open CS and open a map that has the problem. Then clcik the tools button (on the left sidebar of the map window) and click change map dimensions. Then change the "Ground Tile" dimensions to the dimensions of the tiles you use for ground tiles (default PoG tile size is 96X96). That should fix it. Note that you should only have one size of ground tiles, and that everything else should be done through layers.
