Circular radar screen

Uncle Twitchy did one in one of the SFA alphas. Ask him.

UT just made a circle around the radar screen. It's still a square.

Judging by the SFA Teaser, he did it by creating a small square in a circular outline, with large empty curves on all four sides.

It works as a radar, and from my limited experience with it you don't really notice that it's actually square.
The only possible problems are A) it isn't truely round, so you can see farther on the diagonals than you do in the cardinal directions, and B) the radar's range is noticably smaller- SFA's radar is about 120 pixels across, while the Nova radar is around 175.
