Golden Horizon - Part IV

The S.S.A. that was supposed to replace the one that escorted the one gone with the Savior was half completed. Most of the fighters were already patrolling and training incase they would be called to support the Savior or another Voinian/Federation attack. All ship coming out from the industries were fitted with Tachy-kinetic weapionery and all the other were to be replaced in less than two weeks.

The new shielding system was ready to be experimented on a fighter. The development had been faster because the idea had already started to be researched ten years ago. The system was simple: orient part of the shields towards the incomming ennemy fire. Rockets, missiles, gun and beams (for a shorter period of time) could be absorb and some times deflected. The inboard computer calculated the trajectory of the incomming object and ordered the device compressed the fields in on sector around the fighter and made the shield a bit more than twice as strong. The counter part was that energy had to be take from somewhere else around the ship, weakening other sectors of the shielding fields. The scientists were working on adding another kinetic capaciator in order to augment the amount of shield available.

In the ambassy of New Kayia, the research team was heading towards Coron with its Frigate and four freighters. They would settle for a long time since they could not come back everyday...

"Are you sure the powers off?"

The Igadzra rejoiced.

Citadel Station was towed to Appnyl, and set up. The grand sphere that was the Citadel stood proudly in Appnyl, a statement to the power of the Igadzra.

Meanwhile, the Oloni colony on Triam Rios had been completed, although it would be upgraded considerably over the next few months. Already, it was beginning to bloom as a major industrial world, and it's Federation shipyards were almost complete.

Similarly, shipyards on all Igadzra systems, including Kedan, were reaching upgrade completion.

Meanwhile, 200 ships from the IGNA Armada had secured Kedan and were preparing to assualt the Zidagar.

Another statement came in from far away to bring hope into the Igadzra hearts - the IXD Project was half complete.

The Diplomatic mission had well started with a warm welcome from the Kayan. Thw mission was now heading towards Horoth space to have a the first official meeting with their past neighbor. Grimet Dall sent this message to the Horoth representatives:

@ @ @ @ Message to: Horoth Union (Le) @ @ @ @

The Solidarity-council wishes to set an ambassy on Horath in order to have better relations. The help the Horoth Union has provided to do the worm-hole generator (WHG) signifiacant and we want to thank you. However, the work done until now is at risk, the S.S.S. Savior has been sent to war against the Edien Demon, which is much larger. The Solidarity does not wish to lose the Savior. The source of power that you stated has not been clarified and could be of an immense support before the attack and after, during the travel towards Andromeda. The WHG project has been halted, but the Federation also seems to have delayed its attack against the Demon. The Solidarity takes these last days to make the Savior has much resistant as possible. The Horoth help will make a difference.

At our arrival, an ambassy will be set on Horath. If possible, could five spots in the nearest space-port could be reserved for the Solidarity. Your gratitude would enable the Scientific investigation team to stay longer on Coron to continue Jeffery Brackman's researches.

We will as soon as the mission lands on Horath.

Grimet Dall,
Foreign representant of the Sladerei Solidarity.

The work done with the AMKS (Active Multi-kinetic Shield) was great: it had resisted to a shorter amount of time to a beam, but was really usefull against rockets, torpedoes, missiles and gun particules. It could modify the shielding fields to resist to two incomming ennemy fire butnot more, otherwise, the shield would be too weak to return to original and be able to change again its shape. The counter part, was that it could only be done once every three minutes. If not, the shield orientors would warm up and glow white. In case of a beam, the supportable time was of nine seconds, enough to make a sharpe turn with the fighter. The Destroyer and Friagte could sustain a beam impulse longer because of the space available to mount some heatsinks. The average was of about 25 seconds. After, the shield would come back to its normal density and be weaker by a small amount. The rate of recharge is not affected by the AMKS, but it slows down during the two second it takes to take its normal shape.

Two days ago, the plans of the AMKS had been sent to the Savior scientific team with the reinforcement armada that had been haded to the one aleady departured. If it had enought time to reaseach the Savior and install the AMKS module abort it, it could make the Savior a stronger opponent against the Demon. The armada was composed of two fighter squadrons and four destroyer squadrons. Their cargo bays were full of AMKS modules ready to be put on the Savior. If an Edien fleet was to stumble opon them before they reached the Saviro, they had been set sell-destruct themself when needed.

The stellar defense mecanism was in place with about ten armed space-farms evolving everywhere. Without a closer look, they were like the other farms, but an ennemy pilot would quickly realize what would fire. However, he would have to put his sensors on highly active to target the right farm if he did not wanted to wast amo on the normal one. The two turrets were really small in comparison of the size of the farm, 300 m across of green plants. The shipyards on Grenits were producing at a rythm of two ships per week, which is the maximum that can be done, not enough pilots can fly them! The Solidarity-council does not requests a more than seven thousands Navy soldiers, without counting those abort the Savior. The population has to grow more, but in about four months the population will be high enough to have more pilots.

The Solidarity-council had decided to make a bigger station that would be able to house a few thousands of Sladerei. Mainly the oldest, the one that had not gotten use to put a feet on the ground, the restricting gravity that could not be turned of! Now that Grenits was a Sladerei Solidarity system and planet, efforts could be done in all directions. It was to be enlarge in order to produce more ships to support the Edien conflict and evantually the worm-hole travel technology or if some development occured in the other neighboring galaxy. The Station will have all the shipbuilding, industries, facilities that have no need on Grenits, until a better way of decontaminating the soil can be found. Which is really hard since they are in constant contamination because of Grenits's magmatic behavior.

BACKGROUND DEVELOPEMENT - THE FINAL BATTLE OF THE DREADNAUGHT

------------------

With all the ships in Notil, the total was about 200,000. The Ediens were rumored to have approximately 80,000 of their own, plus the dreadnaught, plus approximately 50,000 ships in reserve.

Ships from nearly every race and nation had come to Notil. The Voinians and Federation obviously, the Igadzra Republic, the Igadzra Union, the Kayans, the RA, the Miranu, and the Azdgari. There were also the two outcast races, survivors of the Ediens fury that were to get their revenge quite soon; the Horoth and Sladerei.

As these ships assembled, word was recieved that the Ediens had obliterated Mark and were preparing to move out; to Notil.

The alarm was sounded as every ship got into battle formation. The few Juggernaughts that the Feds had were grouped around the Sladerei Dreadnaught. There was also a battlesquad of 6 Voinian Dreadnaughts, as well as numerous other large warships including the Azdgari Supercruiser Rune. The Templar had been requested and was in-route to Notil. In return, the Federation had lent the Igadzra the temporary use of one of their battlecruisers, the U.F.S. Maverik, which was to guard Igadzra space from any Akrahd incursion that might occur.

Then, it happened. Long range sensors detected an energy surge as 80,000 Edien ships, along with the Edien Dreadnaught Demon , slipstreamed into Notil.

Commanding from the Voinian Dreadnaught Darkest Shadow , Federate Fleet Admiral Scorcher and Voinian Grand Admiral Nahar were coordinating the battle. Even President Carnotaur was there to oversee the whole operation, and Admiral Firebird was to be part of the actual battle. Scorcher turned to Carnotaur as he gave the word.

"President Carnotaur to the fleet; open fire!!"

Beams of pure energy lanced out, torpedoes were fired, missiles launched, rockets screamed from their launchers as SAIs, SAVs, and SADs rocketed out into the Edien haord. The Federation had the upper hand as weapons streamed into the Edien fleet, but the dozens of weapons that were hitting the Edien Dreadnaught had little effect, simply exploding on its shields and creating a blue, eerie shockwave.

The Edien fleet then returned fire as Scorcher gave the word. "Forward shields to full!"

The forward shields of the many vessels absorbed the impact and the two fleets screamed in. Particle and beam weapons flew as the two gigantic fleets engaged each other. The Federation had the upper hand in numbers but the pure power of the Edien dreadnaught could easily wipe out 100,000 ships.

This was to be a close battle.

The Sladerei Supercruiser Savior moved forward, protected by its escort group of Federation juggernaughts and even a few dreadnaughts. The massive vessel flew alongside the dreadnaught, pounding it with thousands of tons of explosive force. And yet the dreadnaughts shields held.

Then began the massive and savage fighter conflict. Thousands of fighters engaged each other, swarming this way and that. The sky was filled with their explosions as their dueled. The Edien fighter force took extreme casualties, loosing over 1/3 of its fighter force in a matter of minutes. A mere 20 minutes later, there were barely 5,000 fighters left.

Fighters from the grand armada engaged the dreadnaught. Streaking across its hulled they opened fire with a savage ferocity that not even the dreadnaught could compare to. But even so, it could certainly come close as it opened fire with massive barrages of gunfire which incerated dozens of fighters at a time. Still dozens more were hit and spun into the dreadnaught, but doing only minor damage.

The massive battlegroup of Voinian dreadnaughts moved ahead, sending a hail of rockets and photon bursts into the Edien ship. Whole Edien battlecruisers were vaporized but the Dreadnaught's shielding held fast as it's kills reached to 20,000 ships and climbing extremely fast.

Millions, almost billions of tons of wreckage filled the system, making fighter duels extremely hazardous, but not to the dreadnaught. It simply plowed through it, burned out hulks disintigrating upon contact. There wasn't much left of the Edien fleet, but the Dreadnaught had barely lost 1/5 of its shields.

It was at that moment that reinforcements, including the Templar, arrived. The new reinforcements helped boost the morale against the Ediens, and soon they had blasted off 1/4 of the Dreadnaughts shields, but had still suffered massive casualties.

Notil station was caught in the crossfire and incinerated. Streaks of blue erupted from the Edien dreadnaught as it vaporized warship after warship with its dozens of Ion Beam Turrets. There seemed no stopping this monster.

Then Nahar ordered that all ships to engage at a few specific spots along the dreadnaughts hull, to minimize casualties and to try and create large holes in the shields of the dreadnaught. Azgara Bombers from the Azdgari proved especially useful in this fight, their plasma bombs rocketing into the shields and creating enough damage to vaporize most big warships instantly, but they barely dented the dreadnaught.

One large group of ships consontrated on the engines, which were one of the weakest points. A few ships even hyperspaced into the ship, but it still did not do much at all. If only they could punched through the ships rear engine shields, then they could set off a chain reaction which could do TONS of damage.

The alliance of nations continued to fight, having already lost 50,000 ships to the dreadnaught alone. They were forced to pull back, and began to use long range weapons against the Dreadnaught, keeping away from its deadly array of turrets and beams. However, a problem soon arose.

Nahar slammed his fist on a table after hearing a report from Admiral Firebird. He turned to Admiral Scorcher. "We're running out of missiles, we need to fall back to Igadzra to regroup and re-arm."

"How do we know they'll chase us?" Scorcher asked, and Carnotaur spoke. "I know how..." he tapped the com pannel and sent a message to the Edien dreadnaught, commanded by Grundulator himself as the fleet began to hyperspace out of the system towards Igadzra. "Care to chase use, Edien 'Emporer'? Or are you so cowardly that you think you cannot stand up to our wrath."

Then he turned to Nahar. "Get us out of here now. He'll follow, believe me."

Once the fleet was in Igadzra, they quickly regrouped and rearmed. Firebird hailed the Voinian Dreadnaught Darkest Shadow. "President Carnotaur; here they come..."

The remaining 15,000 Edien ships, and the Dreadnaught, hyperspaced in and were met by a hail of gunfire. The Ediens returned fire with long range weapons as they charged. Firebird hailed Carnotaur. "You know, that ship may be big, but it sure is fast for its size! It's so big, for what it would call slow, for us it's called fast! We have to engage in a close-combat battle."

Nahar nodded as the alliance fleet charged back. Weapons fire flew as the two fleets engaged. Carnotaur was suddenly brought a bit of information. Part of the database on the Edien Battlecruiser captured a few months ago had been recovered, and it said that the only jumpgate ever destroyed was lost to a Rarkyl fleet which used Quantum Singularities to tear it apart. Carnotaur showed the others this. "We may not be able to produce a singularity, but we can sure make a sub-space rupture." He hailed Firebird and gave him some instructions.

A large group of Federation ships moved around to the rear of the Dreadnaught. One a command, a large spread of Sub-Space Torpedoes were fired, but these ones were specially modified to create sub-space ruptures. In a dangerously bright flash of energy, several large, sub-space tears formed. The combined strength of them blasted away at the shielding of the Dreadnaught, causing massive damage to the engine section.

The alliance continued to hammer away at it, until finally the shields in the rear section began to fail, and Firebird quickly sealed up the ruptures.

With the shields on the dreadnaught down, the fleet could now do a great deal of damage to it. The Voinian Dreadnaught Group charging in, rockets streaked into the engines of the dreadnaught. Though they were massively armored, finally one small engine gave way. Imploded in on itself, the engine then exploded in a massive fireball which took out a small piece of the dreadnaught by damaged it greatly overral.

Another sub-space tear was formed amidships of the dreadnaught, and another hole was punched. Then another hole was punched in the shields near the forward section. The thousands of energy bursts and warheads streamed in, wreaking havoc on the giant behemoth. The Dreadnaught Demon had lost over half of its shields and the rest of them were dropping fast.

The Dreadnaught, though nearly invincible, could not stand up to the combined firepower of 100,000+ warships. The Sladerei Supercruiser Savior , however, was hit badly and started to burn. The Templar was also hit bad, a large chunk of it blasted off, disabling the ship. Fortunately a Voinian Dreadnaught had towed the Igazrada, and was then towed away by Federate ships to a nearby shipyard. The Savior was moved away, but not before it punched yet another hole in the dreadnaughts shields, and even created the first hull breach on the dreadnaught.

Then, the Voinian dreadnaught Avariace , after being hit badly and all weapons disabled, moved far away from the battle. However, after abandoning the ship, the auto-pilot was engaged and the massive dreadnaught went into hyperspace for the Dreadnaught. Though it never reached true hyperspace speeds, it was going quite fast when in slammed into the dreadnaughts hulk, making a good part of it shake as a massive explosion erupted, spewing out wreckage, and created a massive hull breach 10x bigger than any Federate Battlecruiser.

The Dreadnaught was doomed, the pride of the whole Edien fleet, and the Ediens knew it. Grundulator escaped the battle in the last remaining ship from the Edien fleet, hyperspacing out and back to Edien space...

The crew of the Demon still fought on like Edien warriors; to the death.

None would return.

Suddenly, one of the dreadnaughts main engines ruptured, spewing out drive plasma. A rocket was fired, which ignited the plasma. The following explosion completely obliterated one of the dreadnaughts engines. As two more small engines exploded, massive hull breaches occured accross the dreadnaught. It shields finally imploded in a flash of blue light, and its hull would not last much longer...

Beginning to drift, its weapons still blazing as the fleet moved away from the doomed vessel. Finally, its reactor went critical, and a core meltdown ensued.

As 95,000 ships watched, the Dreadnaught slowly began to disintigrated. It suddenly began to imploded, but stopped. Carnotaur braced for what was next as the massive ship glowed bluish white...

...Then exploded in the most awesome fireball anyone had ever seen.

Billions of tons of wreckage spewed out, hurled at unthinkable velocities. A fireball started to expand, and soon became the size of a small moon as an energy shockwave billowed out through the red and yellowed.

"ALL HANDS BRACE FOR IMPACT!!!"

The alliance fleet was hit hard by the shockwave, dozens of weakened ships exploding. But most of the fleet had made it.

The Edien Dreadnaught Demon , one of the greatest Edien threats ever; was gone.

But the fleet did not celebrate immediately. They had lost 105,000 ships, and over a million men and women who died bravely. Carnotaur spoke to the fleet. "We commemorate this day to the many people of both sides who died. Though the Ediens were our enemies, there is no reason that we should not feel sorry for those many people who died, maybe for now reason at all."

The fleet slowly moved in orbit above Igadzra as celebrations on the Igadzra homeworld were begun. Meanwhile, Firebird took his fleet to Mark to secure the border against any possible Edien incursions.

The Edien Dreadnaught was no more, but the Ediens still posed a threat to the whole galaxy...

When the armada in charge to bring the AMKS arrived to Igadzra, they found a mourning system. It was a futuristic view of the battlefield of Anvers: ripped ships were waiting for a place to dock an repair, many other were simply drifting away solonemly. When they docked a the first repaired dock, they had the opportunity to have a close look at the damage the Edien could do. Their feeling was odd and eerie since they had lived abort the Savior all life long and coming back in a cripled version of the Savior was like if they were entering a robbed house.

Psack welcomed them at the debrifing-council, (which was to be held before a possible multinational one ??). The reports about the damages to the hull were only structural in the majority of the decks, but the weaker docking systems and WHG had been heavily damage. Those would have to be repaired over the next three weeks in order to give back to the Savior its average power capacities. One thing that was sure, it would be fully enhanced to continue its mission for a long time. It had started its life by saving the Solidarity, it continued by helping other nations and will last long enought to see the second version of the WHG.

The repairs were continuing day and night while orbitting around Igadzra. The AMKS would be installed as soon as a decision about installing a new armor or to use the old one with new parts. It would depend if the Federation asked a rapid support in order to do a bliztkrieg. If the Federation did not immediatly needed the Savior's help, it would be sent back to Grenits where it could be repaired much faster.

Out of the sixteen squadrons of fighters that had been sent, three were fully back, one assembled from survivors. Two destroyers squasdrons were abled to keep their hull in good enough shape to make the voyage back to Igadzra. The three frigates had been able to come back to an Federation port. Reinforcement from Grenits would not come fast because of the lack of trainning of the pilots, in average: one less than one sixty hours of flight combat.

The team of scientists that had worked on grenits to fingd as much as possible ways to use the molecular sulfurous compounds that composed Grenits had made a break through. By separating all carbon, hydrogen and nitrogen elements from the molecular substances based around sulfure, their were able to make polymers. These could be used in any process from construction to clothes. The Solidarity-council had approved a study about a new armor that would be able to replace the metalloid one that equiped the Solidarity vessels for the past fifteen years. The research would be oriented towards a light, strong and heat resistant fiber, which would come out from the industries in about a month.

A day of mourning had been decreted on Grenits and the Sladerei thought again about what had made them moved, and the actions that had been taken only to make the Sladerei present possible. This offensive had done the same thing on a greater scale. Lets hope it would last as long or more.

The Savior hadbewen enough repaired to hyper towards Grenits and then to Avann to receive its new hull. If the researches on the new polymer armor were to be done fast enough, the Savior could be equiped with it and it could save tons of mass as well as increasing its strenght. The work done with the polymer armor had well started but they soon discovered that if they had to outfit the Savior, enornous amount of polymer would be needed. Plus, the fabrication required twice the time it would have usually taken. The good part was that it was easily replaceble and could be easily transportable during long journey.

The WHG had suffered like hell during the battle, its armor platting had been cripled and the exterior part complitly smashed away. Fortunatly, the core had not been touched. The WHG-council had decided to wait for the return in perfect conditions of the Savior before starting again their work on it. Their first goal will be to replace the damaged part and then to test for a second time the WHG in order to be 100% sure that everything was working. Then, the research work would continue and about six weeks later the first test between the two galaxy would began.

The shipyards of Grenits were constructing new squadrons to replace those lost build new repair part to be send to Avann before the arrival of the Savior.

"Normal life" was continuing for the Sladerei, with a new sense of responsability in their new world.

SilverDragon smiled.

He stood aboard the Templar now, which had been repaired by the Federation from it's battle against the Edien Dreadnought. It was a magnificent ship, and he greatly regretted never having one built. The Templar was Evaniol's ship, and Evaniol, who was present, had made sure SilverDragon knew that.

"So, the Federation shipyards have been completed?" SilverDragon asked Evaniol, making conversation as the Templar drifted through space in the Igadzra system, their crew enjoying the view.

"Yeah. That'll speed our ship construction up tremendously!" Evaniol grinned. "The Templar's going back to Cerberus soon, where we're currently setting up to recover from Operation Proving Grounds. If you don't mind, Sir, I won't be going with it."

"No?" said Commander Laiors, making his presence known. "What did you have in mind, commander?"

"Well..." Evaniol shrugged after a moment. "President Carnotaur mentioned that Federation shipyards can't help with the production of larger ships, but Voinians were good at that. So I'm going to Voina."

SilverDragon was shocked. "Heck, you have nerve!"

Evaniol grinned. "It's worth the experience anyway."

SilverDragon laughed, Evaniol laughed, and Laiors remained silent, merely thinking.

The first new squadron of IGNA ships came in, newly constructed from the shipyards. Fifty Izars, twenty Izagas and five Igazras had been built already, in just a few days. IGNA was now comprised of 335 vessels, although they no longer kept the 1:1:1 ratio.

The Templar would arrive back to the Igadzra in a few days, but it would instead arrive at Kedan, to prepare for an assualt. 150 ships were also there, the others distributed across the lines.

For now, the research department was clear, although soon they'd have someting to work on - researchers on Coron had found something, apparently a broken down shield matrix. It was quickly towed to Triam Rios for testing.

They said they would be able to fix it up and try fitting the shield matrix, which they would learn more about soon, to an IGNA vessel, within twelve days. The ITA made sure that both IGNA and IAC knew that these designs would not be up to full spec. Whatever this way, it needed some extensive testing first.

We are ready and able to help you fix the WMG, and anything you request will be made availible as quickly as possible. If you wish, we can also install an expanded stealth field, although the sheer size of your ship will make it hard to hide. We will work on tuning the field to disrupt targeting sensors, and not to hide completely.

Research is begun on a kinetic cannon, using the same forces the horoth mines control. It should be very effective against the Akrahd, since armour is extremely vunerable to kinetic impacts, especially when focused. The additional factor of smashing ships out of formation should also help.

The Horoth finally get round to sending someone to Coron, to have a look at the technology availible.

Helena reviews the reports on how the war is going. She looks at the map and taps thoughtfully at Rossoni. They might want to send some ships there. She taps into the fleet statistics and shrugs.

10 more Heavy Freighters, with supplies and some troops, would leave to Rossoni. 50 ships would be the escort, and if they ran into trouble, they'd send 50 more.

Helena picked the best pilots she could for all of the ships. She didn't want them to get in a jam with bad pilots. She had already lost one Heavy Freighter in a hope to send help to a planet. The ships were sent out with there escort.

Helena looked at the ship stats and frowned. They needed to build ships faster. Or more at one time. She then gathered up some plans and in an hour, she had sent some plans to the Researching comitee. They would try to upgrade there present shipyards.

Igadzra Grand Naval Arm
IGNA Commander Evaniol quickly organised that the Templar be sent to Kedan under control of an IGNA captain, while he stayed on Igadzra, to send a message to the Voinians.

(From IGNA Commander Evaniol, Igadzra)
(To Emperor Nova6 of the Voinians)

I would like to request a personal audience with you, regarding your dreadnought construction. In the name of anti-Edien coalition, I believe it would be for the greater good if you could help us build more ships like the Templar.

Thank you,
Evaniol

(end message)

Meanwhile, another 50 Izars, 20 Izagas and 5 Igazras were constructed by IGNA, bringing their naval figures to 410 vessels. 50 more of these quickly went to Kedan, bringing the figures there to 200 IGNA ships and the Templar. The strike would begin.

- - -

Commanded by Subcomannder Iosa Kane, an intelligent greying human, the IGNA fleet swept into Titan, led by the Templar Igazrada.

The ITA convoy followed quickly behind, with President Heraphar remaining out of weapon's range as all hell broke loose.

One hundred and fifty Rebel ships were patrolling Titan at the time of the attack, and they quickly formed up ranks, the Zigras firing off SAD modules in a tiny barrage that had barely any effect on the might of the IGNA.

Izars swept around the flanks, but they weren't fighting Akrahd, and quickly found themselves up against huge wolfpacks of Zigara fighters. Many Izars were destroyed, but their firepower was able to hold off the Zigaras.

Large numbers of SAIs smashed Rebel ships to pieces, while the Rebels constantly tried to go head to head with the IGNA vessels. Turbophase cutting the edge over phase, the battle was very one sided.

The Templar, in it's first battle since the battle with the Edien Dreadnought, quickly dominated the field, pulling down a trio of Zigra Battlecruisers, albeit with some effort required.

The battle was a long and tiring one, even though it's victor was so obvious. Within two hours of fighting, the Rebel ships had lost, fifty of them retreating to NSI-21, not knowing where to go.

IGNA had lost 50 vessels in the battle, and the ITA convoy was busy securing Titan with the help of IGNA crack troops.

The Zidagar civil war was to come to an end now, as the IGNA/ITA operation was beginning to have it's effect.

With both Kedan and Titan secured by ITA, and the 250 IGNA vessels being distributed among the systems to defend, the Zidagar were beginning to gain some freedom from the claws of men like Rathon.

Zidagar Rebellion
Codax swore. His forces in Titan had been crushed, and his attack on Ruvar had also failed. The Rebels were practically destroyed.

He sat at the bridge of one of the last Zigra Battlecruisers, in the NSI-21 system. He now controlled only fifty ships, and although Coya was a Rebel outpost, it was unguarded. There was no doubt that the Isolationists would soon decide to take it.

Realising that the situation was hopeless, and also realising that the claws of the Igadzra were a deadly place to be stuck in, he realised he had to escape. There was only one place where he knew he could escape.

(From Commander Codax of the Zidagar Rebellion)
(To Lars Magna of the Pirates)

I am defeated. I beg of you, take me into your armies, and you may make use of my technology. Together, we can take this galaxy back, and make the Igadzra pay for what they have done today.

Not waiting for a reply, Codax braced his forces. He would enter Yori, but leave for Sheatee straight away. It was a long journey to Lars Magna, but it was his last hope...

OOC: I'm staying alive because in the only Edien player.

Grundulater opened his eyes. He was inside his Edien fighter, but still in the Notil system. He sees no ships attacking him, no Edien fleet, and no Dreadnaught. Anger shot through him. This vessle, the Dreadnaught had been... so powerful. How could it have been destroyed so easily? The he looked around him and understood. It hadn't been killed easily. It had taken thousands of thousands of aliens to the grave. He knew that the wreckage around him wasn't just the Dreadnaught, it was all the ships that had attacked in the battle. The fighter shot into hyperspace...
-----------
As Grunadulater landed on the planet in the nearest system, the people were mourning. The Ceremony of the Dead had taken place. Grunadulater knew that it was a hard time for his people, but they had to react fast. Very fast.
-----------
An armada was being constucted with any ships, mostly ships that were coming from the warpgate. They would attack the aliens once and for all very soon. A new dradnaught must be constructed.

Igadzra Grand Naval Arm
Production continued steadily. The Battle of Titan's losses had been compensated for, and the IGNA Armada was now made up of 425 vessels. Until other Refugee races began building Federation shipyards, IGNA would have a huge advantage - and it seemed they had been the first to take the initiative and adapt their shipyards.

The 150 IGNA vessels spread between Titan and Kedan had been backed up by another 100. An attack on Maktee would soon follow.

Igadzra Trading Authority
The ITA was flourishing. Their colonies now comprised of Titan, Kedan, Oloni, Bellaraphon and Saopallo. With the attack on Maktee being planned, they would gain another colony. Meanwhile, preparations were being made by President Heraphar to colonise Leva soon.

Of course, these new colonies did not support IGNA shipyards. They were out of IAC rule, and thus they were entirely ITA bases. Although this had a negative effect on the entire Igadzra system, it was how things would work, for now.

Arcturus swore. Though Ruvar only moments ago had been captured by Isolationist forces, spelling the end for the Loyalists as their leader, Admiral Aldaris, fled with his ship and a few friendly ships to Miranu space.

With the Rebels evacuating, the only thing left...

...Was to show the Azdgari, Miranu, and Igadzra just what the Zidagar Isolationists were REALLY made out of.

Across the Zidagar section, hundreds of Isolationist ships were being assembled. Arcturus had stolen some of the plans to the Federation shipyard, and with them the Isolationists had boosted their forces to twice their original size in just days.

Now they could prepare for the final battle, the final strike, the final display of power, and the final crusade against the infidels. Arcturus was a madman, much like Lars Magna, but his army still followed him loyally.

The Zidagar were preparing for war.

---------------

BACKGROUND DEVELOPMENT

News of the Federation shipyard plans arriving had been greatly rejoiced throughout the New Galaxy. Already the Kayans, Miranu, Azdgari, and even the Zidagar Isolationists had the new shipyards and could now compete with the now vast IGNA naval armada.

Now ships were being produced at twice the rates, but this still did not help the galaxy much in the way of fighting the Zidagar, Pirates, and Akrahd. The Zidagar had stolen the plans, the Pirates had intercepted them, and the Akrahd were already working on ways to improve their already extremely quick shipbuilding methods.

Psack read the Horoth message and smiled, this new technology would help to make the Savior less trackable to ennemy fire. Though its size would diminished the Horoth effect, any improvement can make a difference. He sent this message:

@ @ @ @ Message to The Horoth Union (UHe) @ @ @ @

The Solidarity is pleased to receive this technology and wishes to make push event more the Horoth-Sladerei colaboration by exchanging the active multi-kinetic shield to the Horoth Union to have the plans of the "stealth shield". The AMKS is the newest shielding device that enable the ship to orient a consideral part of its shield towards an incoming ennemy missile, torpedo, rocket, particles...

The Savior is now almost in Avann where it will be fully repaired, then the WHG will be reassembled around Grenits. After, the kwoledge acquired during the last three weeks will be integrated to the WHG. We estimate that in about six weeks, the WHG will be ready to be tested from the Milky Way to the Horoth space.

Nelson Psack,
at the head of the Sladerei Solidarity.
