Golden Horizon - Part IV

Though the Federation had suffered greatly in the final assault on the dreadnaught, the battle had still been won, and the Dreadnaught was finally destroyed.

Celebrations in Igadzra were in full swing as many captains and crew were happy to get a bit of shore leave, because in this war, shore leave was rare, and battles were constant.

Carnotaur walked around the mess hall on the Red October as many of the admirals and officers celebrated. Scorcher and Firebird were some of them; they loved that kind of stuff. But suddenly an ensign pulled Carnotaur away and showed him the latest tactical reports. The Mark system had been re-secured, and the Federation border was being fixed up for the next offensive. Gadzair HAD to be taken in order to commence the rest of the invasion, and Carnotaur was intent on doing so.

However, the Voinians were having some problems. Their border had been compromised when the Ediens took Kelmoan. Now a massive battle was taking place over that system, and the Voinians were hopeful that they could retake it.

Meanwhile, SilverDragon had been called to the Igadzra system to meet with the lead commander of the Igadzra Republic forces; Commander Laros.

As an Izar docked with the Republic Cruiser Acheron , SilverDragon was met by Laros himself. Though the republic had been isolated for many years, they still looked nearly identical to the Igadzra in the new galaxy and Milky Way. Laros smiled and bowed slightly. "SilverDragon, it is an honor to meet you, and it is quite an pleasure to meet one of my own kind outside the Ji Nebula once again. Tell me, what has happened to your people?"

"We're not doing half badly!" SilverDragon laughed. "We've split ourselves up into several organisations, IXD, IGNA, IAC and ITA. In actual fact, I just got word in that our IGNA fleets have soared to five hundred vessels. We've been fighting this race called the..."

SilverDragon continued to talk, and explain everything that was going on. Then he said, "how about you? How've our brothers been?"

After a minute he added another comment. "And do you need any IGNA protection?"

Finally, the IXD Project was complete. In Dafi, the IXD Outpost was set up, and the designs for IXD vessels would begin to be used - Subcommander Laiors sent a request to the Federation, asking for them to use their facilities to produce a small number of IXD vessels. Meanwhile, a few vessels were being put together at IXD Outpost and the planet of Igadzra.

The final versions of these vessels would be designed later, once the Alpha designs had been tested in combat.

The offer to Cap'n Redeye to captain an IXD Executor was still open, and Subcommander Laiors sent numerous messages to him proclaiming this.

Without a response, Evaniol tried to make his way through the Voinian chain of command to meet Nova6, but failed miserably. Again, he sent a message.

(From IGNA Commander Evaniol, Voina)
(To Emperor Nova6 of the Voinians)

I ask again, would you please help a fellow member of the Anti-Edien coalition by either supplying data on how you produce your larger vessels, or help us construct one of our Igazradas?

The Federation shipyards were truly a wonder. IGNA now commanded a fleet of 500 vessels, only a few months after having lost most of their fleet to the Akrahd. Ship construction was to slow now, as news had just come in from the IAC.

IGNA had been granted 8 million credits above their daily funds by the IAC, money which had been intended to go to the ITA for their colonisation project.

This money was to complete the work on the deflector. Although now, the deflector had been calibrated, it's power cells were not fully functional. Any IGNA vessels equipped with the deflector only managed to keep it up for the barest second before it switched off.

However, the IGNA subcommander had lowered ship construction from 75 ships to 50 ships, and had commanded the deflector power cell project be taken slower. This was in light of Evaniol's earlier demand that more Igazradas were required. Thus, from the extra materials and funds gained, another Igazrada - the Nightmare - would be produced.

President Heraphar was annoyed. The IAC seemed to greatly favour IGNA, and thus, the ITA had recently been denied funding for the colonisation effort. Leva would not be colonised until the Deflector power cell had been complete. It was not really this that annoyed Heraphar, it was how IGNA had taken the funding and somehow managed to begin construction on another Igazrada.

Thus, he sent word to IAC.

(From President Heraphar of the ITA)
(To the Assembly, IAC)

I demand that once the Deflector is complete, ALL surplus funding go to the ITA. If you do not agree, the ITA may be forced to leave the Igadzra.

Luckily enough, the IAC quickly succumbed to this demands.

200 IGNA vessels had organised at Titan, along with the Templar, and now hyperspaced into Maktee to attack the Isolationist factions there.

A huge barrage of SAIs proceeded in front of them as they entered the system, causing damage and confusion. Despite the lack of speed of IGNA vessels, the IGNA were quickly upon the Zidagar Isolationists.

The Isolationists may have had huge plans of destruction, but IGNA was one step ahead of them...for now.

The Savior was now knew and ready to be stressed, Some of its hull had received the new polymer armour. The parts protected by the new armour were the WHG, the bays, but the rest would follow during the next two weeks. When it entered Grenits and started its orbit around Grenits, shuttles and freighters immediatly came towards it to deliver WHG's parts and the scientists.

Those men had done a really good job. Theoretically, the WHG could be use tomorrow! However, to obtaint this level the pratical work would take another month. The tachyon emitters would have to be more stable (good old problems), the sub-space generators more powerful to break efficiently the matter in front of the Savior when the charges will be inverted.

The scientific team on Coron had not found many things. Though the an intense session of scanning had shown that some kind of life had settle this planet a few years before a possible colonisation. Those aliens might have changed the environment to make that planet more enjoyuable to their eyes. Researches would continue in order to know more about those death relics.

Despite the enhancement of Federation shipyards and the experience from building the Templar and Defender, there seemed to be no way to speed the construction of the Nightmare. It was more chaos. The Feds were suprised to see the Ediens attacking again. They lost 10,000 pretty fast but then fought back with anger. Almost all the fighters were doing 1v1 fights and the capitals attacking anyfighter that got too close. The Ediens took large losses but so did the Feds, the Ediens losing 30,000, the Feds losing 10,000. Then the reseve shpis were called and they arrived pretty fast. They started to get an edge over the Feds. Missiles bombarded the planet and anything in thier way.

"Are you sure the powers off?"

"Three, two, one," stated one IXD systems officer as the small fleet began to break out from the depths of hyperspace. "We're entering Mark now, sir!"

SilverDragon sat in the command seat aboard the IXD Executor Orion's Wrath. He nodded sharply. "Send out a scan wave."

"Yessir," the systems officer replied, quickly pressing a number of keys on the console. After a second, the viewscreen began showing fleet numbers.

25 IXD Carriers
15 IXD Shadows
6 IXD Executors

SilverDragon nodded in confirmation. "When we enter the system, I want all ships moving into the Federation ranks. We'll be most effective with cover anyway."

Barely after the words had left his mouth, the fleet left hyperspace and made their way into Mark, where the battle between the Ediens and the Federation raged on.

Unexpected, the IXD, small as they were, had a quick edge. A hail of fifteen AX bombs were fired from the Shadows instantly as they found themselves overwhelmed by a score of Edien Battlecruisers. The bombs incinerated twelve of the battlecruisers, and the Shadows barely escaped with their lives.

A pack of AX modules fired off towards other Edien Battlecruisers, overwhelmed by the Edien numbers. However, still a number of battlecruisers were eliminated.

Meanwhile, IXD Executors charged head on at the eight Battlecruisers that had survived the Shadow's assualt. AX beams blazing, they wiped four battlecruisers out of the skies, while the Carriers came back in from behind to finish them off.

Counting a damage tally of 24 Battlecruisers, the IXD fleet, now reduced to fourteen ships - five Executors, six Carriers and four Shadows - leapt out of Mark, a huge barrage of quantum torpedoes chasing them.

After the IXD raid of Mark, SilverDragon returned to Igadzra, where he was admitted back onto the Executioner , the Republic vessel in that area.

He had only one question, which he had asked before.

With the power of IGNA ever growing, the stability of it was hovering. There were rumours that many of the members of IGNA were considering mutiny. It has thus been decided absolutely necessary to bring new unity to IGNA with another assualt.

Thus, another 200 ships had been organised and were moving in to take Coya.

The final 200 IGNA ships would hold in defence, for now.

Meanwhile, the Nightmare was being rushed ahead in production. The skeleton of the ship was complete, and the armour frame was being made now.

**BACKGROUND DEVELOPMENT

The End of the Zidagar Civil War**

-------------

_As the Loyalist and Rebel factions were destroyed, General Arcturus of the Zidagar Isolationist Movement took full and total control over the Zidagar.

The only exception being Titan and Kedan, now under the command of the IGNA and ITA.

At the same time, the Azdgari and Miranu armada moved into Titan to prepare for the final assaults on the Isolationists.

As Igadzra fleets invade Maktee and Coya, Arcturus is preparing a move so risky and costly that it will change history forever, or so he hopes..._

Fleet Commander Daraes grinned as the IGNA fleet moved forward in a massive line, slowly beating back and destroying the Isolationist fleet.

"Ctyak? Status?" she asked.

Commander Ctyak on the IGNA Igazra Remington spoke back to Daraes via comlink. "All is going well. We're currently engaging a few Zidaras. The Isolationists are beginning to pull back and... YAAAAAAAHHH!!!"

The comlink fizzeled and went dead as Daraes looked to the viewscreen. She just managed to see the remnants of a Zidara exploded as it rammed an Igazra, creating a massive ball of fire. Suddenly a large section of hull plating flew out, crashing into a nearby Igazra and nearly cutting it in two. As that ship exploded, a dispersal rocket slammed into an already weakened Izaga. The Igazra's whole front section exploded, and the ship drifted away and exploded as a group of over 200 Isolationist vessels jumped in.

Daraes watched as the massive Zidagar fleet began to open fire with SAEs and Pursuit Missiles. Several Izagas exploded as the Izar Battle Wings charged forward into the fray...

...And were promptly blasted back by a wave of dispersal rockets.

They charged again and this time engaged waves of Zidagar Fighters. But this was only a distraction for them as Zidaras and Zigras charged forward into the IGNA line. A battlegroup blasted apart three Izagas and charged the mighty Templar. The supercruiser which had miraculously made it out of the battle with the Akrahd now fought the old enemies of the Igadzra; the Zidagar.

The battlegroup was mostly incinerated as the rest of the IGNA fleet took heavy losses and pulled back to guard the Templar. But Daraes knew this was hopeless as a Zidagar Fighter was hit by a SAI and spun into the Templar, blasting through its shields and ramming the Templar. Though it only caused a minor hull breach, it shook the Templar badly and showed Daraes that this was a hopeless battle.

"Commander Ji'Vek, prepare to..." Daraes was cut off as Ji'Veks Izaga was blow to pieces by a Zigra. Daraes sighed and broadcast the order herself. "Prepare to retreat back to Titan. There we will make our stand. Our job here is done."

The IGNA fleet quickly turned around and hyperspaced out...

...Just before the other 600 ships which were part of the Isolationist armada jumped in...

------------

Commander Takyra of the Kayan fleet in Titan looked around the massive multi-government armada. Approximately 500 ships large, the armada was quite impressive. The Kayan commander looked over the aid fleet, just as the IGNA armada hyperspaced in, and a sub-space transmission was sent to all of the ships in Titan...

"We begin."

Over 600 Zidagar Isolationist ships from multiple vectors hyperspaced in. The Azdgari, Miranu, Kayan, and Igadzra vessels were simply stunned as the enormous fleet opened fire and charged, weapons ablaze.

The armada quickly recovered and fired back, also charging. The Azdgari, with their superior speed, charged into the massive wall of Zidagar ships first. As the Azdgari fleet was torn to pieces the Miranu came in next. Their powerful warships fired off dozens of energy pulses, taking down many ships but still getting torn up in the process. Then came the Kayans (who were sticking near the IGNA) and the IGNA fleet.

As the fleet engaged the armada, many other ships flew past them and onto Titan Prime itself. Firing missiles on the Kayan Frieghters in orbit, turning them to burning hulks, they then began to open fire as several frieghters began to drift into the atmosphere and became burning fireballs...

-----------

The situation on Titan Prime could now be described in no other way, but pure, uncontrolled, Panick.

As missiles and SADs began to fall down to the city, creating massive fireballs as buildings collapsed and people began running, walking, and driving out of the city.

Admiral Ceras'Thor, one of the last remaining Loyalist admirals, looked out the window of the Titan Prime capitol building as explosions raged across the surface. The air was filled with the smell of smoke, rotting flesh, and explosions. The city was filled with screams, the sound of collapsing buildings, and explosions. A Miranu ensign handed Ceras'Thor a datapad then rushed off to his fighter.

The old admiral looked at the pannel, which displayed some of the latest information. As Fleet Admiral Aldaris, the leader of the crushed Loyalists, resided peacefully in Miranu space, the Titan system was under attack by a massive Isolationist armada. For all Ceras'Thor knew, the galaxy was coming to an end.

That was his last thought as a SAD warhead incinerated the building he was looking out of, causing a massive fireball and thousands of tons of wreckage to spew out in all directions...

----------------

The battle in Titan raged on as the Zidagar engaged their most hated enemies. Ships exploded left and right as the massive armada annihilated dozens of ships within moments.

The Azdgari had taken a heavy beating, and their supercruiser, the Rune was under heavy attack and was just barely holding off attacking Zidaras. The Templar was also hit hard but then pulled back to help protect the Rune , giving both of them protecting from the attacking fleet.

The Miranu were also torn apart as the Zidagar used special tactics to split them up and take them down one by one. But then the Miranu moved into positions around the IGNA fleet as the Azdgari took up a position around their supercruiser and the Templar. The Zidagar hopelessly assaulted the two big dreadnaughts, so turned their attention to the IGNA.

However, then Commander Takyra led a large group of Azdgari and Kayan ships into the fray, taking down numerous enemy warships. But then they sighted a massive vessel; the Acheron , a new type of ship neverbefore seen.

It was General Arcturus himself.

He had specially created the Acheron by taking three Zigras and building them all into one big dreadnaught. Well, at least he called it a dreadnaught. It wasn't nearly up to the specs of the Rune , but it got pretty close.

Takyra fell back to the Azdgari fleet, which then charged the Zidagar as the IGNA and Miranu did the same. This overwhelmed the Isolationists, but they soon recovered and countercharged.

As the battle went on, suddenly, a group of 200 IGNA vessels jumped in. They had attacked Coya, secured the colony, then attacked Maktee (which had been left undefended), and secured it as well. They then moved into Titan, and made a welcome site to the exhausted Igadzra, Miranu, Kayans, and Azdgari.

But then, as Takyra was attacking a Zidara, the Acheron moved behind the gunship and opened fire with a massive barrage of phase beam fire. Takyra's vessel shook as it escaped the massive vessel, but then watched as the warship prepared to fire on an Igazra that was damaged and disabled.

In a final blaze of glory, Takyra flew forward at Arcturus' ship. The Kayan Gunship rammed it, creating a massive fireball and blew a large chunk out of the ship. Then the Rune and Templar moved in.

Opening fire with massive fusillades of weaponry, the Acheron was unable to fend them off.

As a core overload occured, Arcturus swore as his personal vessel exploded in a violent fireball, so hot that it glowed white. The Zidagar Isolationist leader was dead, and the once glorious Zidagar armada was doomed.

With aid from more Azdgari and Miranu reinforcements, the Isolationist armada was slowly beaten back and wiped out. After several more hours of fighting, the Zidagar fleet was destroyed, completely and utterly. No one escaped.

But the armada had paid heavily. The Azdgari lost 150 vessels, the Kayans 30, the Miranu 100, and the Igadzra 125. Wreckage and derelict ships dotted the Titan system as word came in of the fall of Yori to the Miranu. Shortly afterward, the Azdgari captured Ruvar.

The Zidagar Civil War was coming to an end, the once proud and mighty Zidagar fleet now nothing but a mere 200 weary, undermanned, and underarmed ships that would soon fall to the Miranu, Azdgari, and IGNA.

The Battle of Titan was a victory, but a costly one.

Now the question was if the Zidagar sector would ever recover...

Igadzra Trading Authority
Heraphar grinned as he led the ITA convoy through to Coya, finally establishing a complete secure which the rushed IGNA had been unable to do. After making a long speech to the Zidagar people there, he had travelled back to Oloni with the ITA convoy, to organise classified Igadzra Trading Authority plans.

ITA now controlled Titan, Kedan, Maktee, Coya and Oloni, and both Bellaraphon and Saopallo were heavily ITA. Despite numerous requests from both IGNA and the IAC, the new ITA bases were just that - ITA bases. No IGNA shipyards would be built on that land.

Perhaps the most worrying thing was the surge of construction. Since Heraphar controlled over half of Zidagar space, and he was starting to seperate his organisation off from the Igadzra, he was able to produce a number of vessels purely for the ITA. Fourty Stargliders were twelve hours off the construction line, all armed with turbophase and a SAI launcher.

Meanwhile, the ITA had "requested" from the Zidagar people that Zidagar technology be made available to them. This request was hard to resist, not only for the entirely veiled threat of destruction upon denying it, but also because President Heraphar was suggesting that a militia group be formed within the ITA. This group, to be named Titan's Guardsmen , would be made up of both Zidagar ships and ITA Stargliders. Of course, this all depended on Zidagar ships becoming available to the ITA.

Meanwhile, another request was sent to the IAC, demanding that they not be so heavily taxed, as well as requesting the surplus funds within nine days, when the Nightmare was to be completed. Earlier they had stated "once the Deflector project has been completed", but Heraphar had changed the request, realising that "the Deflector project" was too open, and IGNA may attempt to be upgrading those designs for some time.

Igadzra Administrative Command
The Assembly were deeply concerned. On every vote, they had come out with a 100% agreement to continue funding IGNA. But increasingly, the ITA seemed to be getting angered, and since the entire funding system relied on the ITA...

However, IGNA funding would still continue, they had decided.

Igadzra Grand Naval Arm
After the losses from the Battle of Titan, and the Battle of Maktee, the IGNA armada had been brought down from 600 vessels, to 475. 50 new ships made that figure 525, but for now, they were slightly underpowered.

Luckily, word had come in that the Voinians would be helping IGNA build another Igazrada, the Ethereal. That would be completed now in nine days, the same time left to build the Nightmare. Meanwhile, the project for the Deflector power cell continued, despite numerous complaints from President Heraphar that the entire project was just an excuse to produce the Nightmare Igazrada.

Commander Daraes, just back from the Battle of Titan, docked at the Citadel in Appnyl, the IGNA logistical and military capital.

She had a few ideas in mind.

(From Fleet Commander Daraes, IGNA)
(To Admiral Tasina, Azdgari)

We have seen the Rune in combat, and are greatly impressed by the sight - it far outstrips the Templar. Although the IGNA Commander, Evaniol, is not currently present as he is busy with a classified operation on Voina, I have cleared the following with IAC, after much discussion.

We would like to request an alliance with your government and your people, the former before the latter. In respect of your military technology, we do not request any trade in technology with you.

Please respond ASAP.

(end message)

Smiling, Fleet Commander relied a message to Evaniol about the situation, and then to the IAC reporting that she had sent the message. If an alliance between the two remaining Strands could be forged, the Akrahd Empire, now the prime target of the Igadzra's warmachine, would fall.

- - -

Realising that the Ethereal was well underway, and that the Voinians knew what they were doing, Evaniol left Voina after replying to Daraes' message. He would now go to Igadzra, to meet with SilverDragon.

As tensions between the ITA and IGNA continued, the Federation was caught in the problems as well.

The Federation had sent two of their battlecruisers, the Prince of Wales and the Repulse to help protect Igadzra space while the Igazrada dreadnaught Templar was away. Once the Templar had returned, however, the battlecruisers had stayed. The reason; the crew of the Prince of Wales had been through a lot and needed some shore leave. The Repulse was new; Fed High Command had sent it to Igadzra space for its shakedown cruise, which it was still doing.

And so, they were somewhat caught up in the action. Both ships were on yellow alert almost constantly, and both protected only the IAC and the IGNA. They could care less about the ITA, which cleary ticked the ITA off. Things weren't helped any when, as high command was considering pulling the two massive warships out, the ITA requested that the Prince of Wales leave to go and protect ITA colonies. The crew refused, and high command agreed with them.

As the starglider Emerald cruised through the sub-space rift that connected the Large Megallanic Cloud Galaxy with the Milky Way. As the civillian trader vessel hyperspaced through it, and as the rift they were travelling through seemed the move, fluctuate, and twist the blue light that was all around them, the captain suddenly noticed a blinking red light.

"Davis, look at this," he asked, pointing to the light.

The sensor officer came back from his other station to look at the light, then spoke. "It's nothing, just a new supernova. Musta just occured."

The captain nodded as the Emerald was shook badly all of a sudden. Consols sparked and the ship vibrated violently as he yelled. "What the heck is going on?!!?"

As the vibrations subsided, the sensor officer looked again at the readouts. "The supernova must have done something to the rift. Oh my... We've changed course! We're on a different rift!!"

"What the..."

"Sir! We're coming out of it... OH DA-"

The crewman was cut short as a brilliant streak of blue blasted into the starglider, blasting away its shields. The captain stared at the massive black and blue warship which hovered above them...

...And fired again.

The ion beam tore through the hull plating, melting the bridge, consuming the bridge crew and captain. The beam continued on firing, turning the ship into cinders and then tearing the rest of the ship to shreds, literally.

It was all over in about 3 seconds.

NEWS FLASH
"Earlier today the Merchant Vessel Emerald entered the Sub-Space Rift in the Deneba system, and was scheduled to arrive at Akreyhek later that day. However, the ship never arrived, and Federate and Azdgari authorities are now searching for the lost vessel. They've interviewed numerous merchants who came through the rift later and none report seeing anything unusual except for a new supernova. Scans have been conducted of the rift, but no wreckage was located, and the ion trail of the Emerald dispersed too quickly to be recorded. In other news today tensions are heating up between the IGNA and ITA as..."

MOD NOTE: Only the Kayans and Horoth can really make much of an investigation into this. Discovery of what happened to the Emerald must be cleared with me first over e-mail or via AIM.

Carnotaur walked off the destroyer Rubicon and into the city of Kenra, on Mira. It had been a long but exciting trip; they had run into an Edien fighter patrol and had engaged in a short battle.

Reconstruction efforts on Kenra and across Mira were going well. The Federation was busy importing the large amounts of equipment that the Kayans would use for purifying the water, but the matter of actual junk was still a problem. There was not only trash and debris, but who derelict ships, parts of buildings, and other stuff that would be hard to filter. Very hard to filter in fact.

Carnotaur quickly found Rima and showed her to the main capitol building. Work on that had been made top priority, and already it looked almost like new, but the right side of the building was still collapsed and needed to be repaired, and the inside needed a lot of work.

Showing her into her old office, which was now somewhat empty (a lot of the stuff in it had been taken out because it was unsalvagable), but still quite nice looking.

Putting an arm around the Miranu's shoulder, Carnotaur smiled and then turned to her. "You know, I've been really tired out with the battle in Igadzra, and I'm sure you're worn out with all this work. So, want to have dinner aboard the Red October, my ship? I'd love to have you. It'd just be me, you, and the stars. What do you say?"

Helena feverishly sent messages to the fleets in Ziadagar space. After awhile, she relaxed, and then sighed, sitting down. Hopefully soon things would calm down, to the peaceful life the Miranu were used to.

The Miranu fleets in Zidagar space split up, scattering the seperate fleets to diffrent systems, searching out and of the Zidagar fleets left, and trying to help the planets they could, and sending to Mira which planets needed the most help. if they could, old Zidagar space would be peaceful too.

Rima smiled warmly, her eyes searching out the window, at her planet, being rebuilt by the struggles of many, and none had to try, yet they all had.

She turned her head towards Canrotaur, and she nodded once."I too would like to have dinner, to relax, and talk. I'd love to join you on the Red October." She smiled, a soft, warm smile, as the half Miranu, half Zidagar, looked again out her window to her returning planet, made possible mostly by the man beside her.

The polymer armor had been fitted on all parts of the Savior, replacing the metal armor which had lasted for the last ten years. The fighters that would settle in the bays of the Savior would be the next one to be equiped with this new armor. In about two weeks, all new vessels will be equiped with it.

The WHG had almost been requiped with its new components and would be ready to apply the theory accumulated during the last weeks in month. Now the worst will come: making sure that the Savior is ready to undertake the stress of a worm-hole travel. A team of one hundred ingineers were working to solidify the inner structure and to make sure that nothing will break. The Savior would have to bend or stay rigid.

Ten thousand Sladerei were living up there in the Station. Its shipyards were working at full capacities to produce space-farms, fighters, destroyers and frigates. Though the Station was officially finished, many workers were constructing new sectors to accomodate a bigger spaceport. It would become the heavy indutrial center of the system, trade goods that would be sent to Grenits.

The Solidarity-council had decided to equip the Station with a defense system in case the Edien scum would have the opportunity to raid DSN-8200 and make a southern attack. 15 Tachy-kinetic turrets and seven torpedo launchers-turrets would defend it. Over the next month, those elements will be added along with some shield enhancers.

The Solidarity-council had aslo voted for another defense project, a new version of the torpedo. With the same size and rapidity, the war head would be changed in order to do more damages. By using cubanes and packing them close to each other, and then smashing them together, detonnation would be immense. Though it will be heavier, it will not require any changes in the way they are used in the S.S.N. . In about three weeks, the new torpedo will be ready to be tested.

Cap'n Redeye heads to Igadzra to meet with the former Emperor

------------------
"Thank you, thank you. Now you're all under arrest!"

Igadzra Xenologistical Defence
At Igadzra, Cap'n Redeye was unable to receive a meeting with Commander SilverDragon, although a young IXD fleet commander named Yana informed Redeye that his request to join the IXD ranks would be processed within the next few days.

Meanwhile, Commander Evaniol stepped out of his IGNA Igazra on the planet Igadzra, ironically just after Cap'n Redeye set down. He was immediately admitted to battered old Igadzra HQ, which had been abandoned for years, ever since the Azdgari took over Igadzra.

In the overgrown building that had not long ago been the capital of the mighty Igadzra Empire, Evaniol was directed to the very main command room, where Commander Laiors and a number of other IXD officers were sitting around.

"Well..." Evaniol said as he first entered the room. "Not a bad abode. I see the phase turrets around the base are still operational. Do the 'Feds know about this place?"

Laiors turned, grinning. "Not sure. It doesn't matter anyway, we're not going outside any limits by re-colonising this base. We just need to clear the plant life around here, and then we can start using this is the administrative capital of the IXD."

Evaniol walked around the room, then, back where he started, he turned to Laiors and eyed him up and down. Being a Strandless, many would have looked down on Evaniol. His skin was a grey-white, and his body was little like the Igadzra. He would have called himself a Gadzair, although the conditions from the Strandless world that was his home perhaps had more impact on his appearance.

However, any situations of inequality did not exist now. Evaniol knew that he was the highest ranking Igadzra officer here, and he didn't intend to let Laiors get any misguided thoughts.

"Where's SilverDragon?" Evaniol asked bluntly.

Laiors and the others seemed slightly shocked that Evaniol had used no term of respect, but soon realised that as the two were the same rank, Evaniol was not under obligation to refer to SilverDragon as "Emperor", "Master" or even "Commander".

"He's off talking with the Igadzra Republic," Laiors replied. "Hey, Evaniol, if we go to the nearest Federation city, we could link up to the Network and talk to him from here."

Evaniol stared down at Laiors until the Igadzra managed a "sir".

Nodding, satisfied, Evaniol replied. "An excellent plan. Considering that IGNA shipyards have been updated with Federation technology, I think it'll be possible to get my subcommander, the commander of the Maktee Battle, and the Assembly, all on the same room in the Network."

Igadzra Grand Naval Arm
Construction sped ahead of itself, with 575 IGNA vessels now in operation. However, more and more of the tax the ITA were forced to pay to the IAC was being "averted". Funds to IGNA were beginning to drain out.

The IGNA officers were all very worried, as were the Assembly. If the situation with the ITA wasn't resolved soon, things might become desperate.

Meanwhile, the Nightmare was almost done on the construction line, and would be fully operational within two or three days. As for the power cell for the deflectors, they still had at least a week before they would be complete.
