Golden Horizon - Part IV

In Horoth Command Central, RMA was looking over the recent battle reports. Orders went out to move most of Horoth mines into normal space, so that they couldnt be disabled. Anyone jumping into a Horoth system would find themselves annihilated in seconds if they hadnt been invited.

-Message To Kayans-
-From Horoth-
We would like to work with you on the planetary defense drone, in able to back up our mines, since the Pirates seem to be able to disable them in hyperlinks now.

We recomend tuyring our attentions to the Akrahd for now, and take their northern most systems. While we would take losses, the increase in resources would allow more ships to be built, which can then go after the Pirates. A quick strike would allow us to lay minefields, blunting any counterattacks by them.

Akrahd mine production facilities are at full production now, and minefields throughout Horoth space are being reinforced considerably. Any unknown ship jumping nto a Horoth system will not last long enough to realise what it ran into. Minefields will also be lain in adjacent systems, giving a buffer zone. Any fleet large enough to get through will be severaly reduced in size by the time it does.

Salutations ŕ la vie

Finally, the word was given by Carnotaur himself.

"You may proceed. Task Force Omega; depart for Gadzair and prepare to engage heavy enemy forces. Good luck."

Admiral Firebird and Johnson nodded as 3 different Federation fleets, the 7th, 13th, and 101st, set off for the Gadzair system. Over 160,000 Federation vessels, all armed to the teeth, some veteran and some not, from almost every race, planet, and background, set off to engage their arch enemy: the Edien Empire.

Several hours later, they finally came out of slipstream, bursting into the Gadzair system like a million specks of light. Though they were prepared for a large Edien fleet, they weren't prepared for what they saw next...

A massive ship, over 10 times the size of a Voinain Dreadnaught. They quickly identified it as an "Edien Dreadnaught". They then identified the name of the ship; the Demon.

Not wasting any time, the Federation assaulted the Edien fleet. Though they were little more than half the size of the Federate fleet, they had the advantage of the largest warship in history. Though the fleet took heavy damage, the Dreadnaught was barely scratched.

Pulse weapons streak through the stars as the two enemies engaged in one of the largest battles in naval history. Torpodoes were launched, missiles flew, fighters dueled. It was like one big explosion that kept going on and on and on...

Soon, the two sides backed off and regrouped. The massive dreadnaught, 27.9 Kilometers long, had barely been scratched. It's fleet counterparts were not so lucky. They had suffered heavy losses. The Feds had only suffered moderate losses.

The two sides charged, the Dreadnaught getting hit hard, but its shields were barely scathed. The Federation took severe losses, but they fought on. Scorcher sent a message to Carnotaur, and got an instantaneous response. "Scorcher, you and Johnson GET OUT OF THERE!" Carnotaur shouted over the link.

"Why? I want to fight!" Scorcher replied angrily.

"I don't care! I don't want to loose two of my best admirals in a firefight! You can coordinate the battle from your command ships in the Mark system. Now get out of there, now! That's an order!"

Scorcher and Johnson reluctantly agreed, and headed out of the system. The battle raged on, with the Federation slowly getting weaker and weaker...

--------------

The the Mark system, Federation ships were being scrambled to defend the now vulnerable outpost. If the fleet in Gadzair was forced to pull out to Mark, the Federation would be too weak to face the dreadnaught and new Edien reinforcements that had been sighted moving towards the battle.

Messages were sent to the Igadzra, Miranu, Voinians, Sladerei, Azdgari, Kayans, and even the RA and Horoth. The Voinians even tried sending a small fleet up through the Ji Nebula to meet up with the Igadzra Republic. However, Carnotaur knew all these fleets would take time to organize, and so he ordered that the fleet in Gadzair should try and stall the Ediens as long as possible. Possibly make them chase them from system to system. Carnotaur also ordered that Mark be abandoned and that all ships there would move back to Notil. The base was also to be evacuated and abandoned completely...

--------------

BACKGROUND DEVELOPMENT

"Full to starboard!" Captain Dravek yelled as his Voinian frigate, the Whitefire , barely managed to avoid an old Edien mine. His ship and 23 other frigates and heavy destroyers were moving through a rather dangerous area. There were tons of Pirates in the Ji Nebula, not to mention all the old, abandoned Edien mines layed years ago in a failed attempt to take the hidden F-25.

In order to safely navigate the area, no cruisers had been taken along. Only Frigates and HVDs. As the small Voinian fleet dodged mines and Pirate ships (alone they were easy to take down, but in numbers they were a real threat), they continued working their way towards the hidden colony of F-25...

"Okay, system cleared. Hyperspace to DSN-4689," Dravek ordered, and the fleet zoomed out.

A few hours later, they came out of hyperspace in the DSN-4689 system. "Detect any ships?"

"Only about 13 Pirate vessels, closing in on our position," the sensor operator said in an almost aggrovatingly calm voice.

"Shields to full! All availible power to weapons! Ahead full and let the guns blaze!" Dravek yelled over the comlink as the Voinians and Pirates engaged each other. The battle was quick and decisive; the Pirates were obliterated and though all of the Voinian ships suffered moderate damage, none were destroyed.

"Now, hyperspace to the DSN-6160 system; and to F-25!"

The Voinian ships lined up, and blasted into hyperspace...

Several hours later, they came out of hyperspace...

...And for the first time in six years, the rest of the galaxy saw F-25, that one planet which had held so much mystery and skepticism.

The Voinians gazed around the system as their massive, grey warships slowly approached F-25. They noticed what looked like a variant of the Crescent style station. They saw several modified Miranu Frieghters and Miranu Couriers, all painted blue and purple. Suddenly, a group of 20 odd looking blue and purple vessels approached the Voinians.

The two fleets just stood there, watching each other. Dravek identified 5 of the vessels as severely modified Igazras, and another 10 as severely modified Igadzra Aradas. The other 5 were a mystery. They looked somewhat like Kayan Gunships, but were extremely modified as well.

Finally, the lead Igazra hailed Dravek. "Greetings captain," the Igadzra on the screen said. "I am Subcommander Laros, captain of the Igadzra Republic Ship Silver Light. We come in peace in the name of all Igadzra and Kayans trapped here by the evil Edien Empire. Tell me, what has become of our homeland? What has become of the rest of our people? And tell me, what has happend to those good friends of ours the Captains of S-570?"

Dravek just stared and then smiled. "You have no idea."

The Voinians then docked with the new station, called New Mark. There the two governments talked about their history, what had happened in the Milky Way, and what had happened to the Igadzra Republic all this time...

SilverDragon had heard of the battle in Gadzair, and of the Edien Dreadnought. Shivering slightly, he looked down on the plans of the IXD again. A help, perhaps, but definately not a match for such a vessel.

However, he couldn't help but ponder the situation. From one Igazra he had since commandeered, he sat, at his personal room, staring at report after report of the vessel called the "Demon".

Easily more powerful than an entire fleet, it seemed almost invincible. But no ship could be invincible - every vessel had a weakness.

Looking through the already in estimates on it's power - a hundred turrets or more, shields a thousand times greater than the Edien Battlecruiser, SilverDragon realised just what they were dealing with here.

After 48 hours straight of determined examinations, hearing every update about the battle, he gave up, and returned to the work on the IXD.

A station was being designed on Igadzra using Federation funding, and the weapon designs were being looked through. It would take 45 days (15 posts) just to get those designs and the station complete, then a week or two to get enough IXD vessels on the line to show the Federation whay they were capable of.

SilverDragon sent a note back to Commander Laiors, who seconded the operation, stating that the station should be built later. That cut the time down to 30 days (10 posts) to make very basic prototype designs on ships and weapons.

The Templar had docked at the Gateway, and was on the "shelf" of the Gateway, a massive ring around the construction on which major constructions took place. It was being fixed up to it's former glory, although it would take time, and IGNA were leaderless.

Fifteen Izars had been rushed into production now, and more would be on their way until there were sixty, and then Izagas and Igazras would slowly be built to fill in to make a 1:1:1 ratio like the Igadzra normally worked with.

The following message was received by the IAC at the Gateway:

Message to the Igadzra Command Complex - encrypted
Point of origin - office of Kayan Militia Commander Lasin

Our military is already stretched pretty thin helping the RA recover from Pirate attacks, and our people (and thus the Senate) don't support interference in foreign wars. What we can offer is our hospitality: Our space is open to all Igadzra refugees and we will repair Igadzra ships that come to Kayan ports. If necessary, we can send in a small detachment of ships to tow disabled ships to our space for repair. And any and all Igadzra ships within our space will have our full defense from any Akhrad that attempt to follow.

We are sorry we can't be of further service. If you need extra repair technicians or medical supplies, simply tell us and we will provide what we can. Lasin out.

Message ends

The IAC sent back a quick message stating that the situation was under control, and refugees had stopped flooding into nearby space. However, they did make a request of aid in the form of money - requesting as much as the Kayans could spare to help speed up reconstruction.

Codax's plans had reached their climax, and he knocked on the door to Rathon's chambers one night, his plans in his head. He was, of course, accepted.

"Good evening, Codax," Rathon muttered, sleepy eyed. "What's the problem?"

Codax smiled. "The problem? The problem is you, dear boy," Codax growled, raising a phase-rifle and discharging it into Rathon's chest. He quickly turned, his purple cloak swirling through the air, and made his way back to the command centre. At this point, the few supporters of General Rathon were being eliminated. It didn't take much, but the Rebels had now swiftly changed their command - to General Codax.

---------------------------------

From Coya, sixty Rebel vessels had moved to Ruvar, to strike the last Loyalist stronghold.

They hyperspaced into the system, quickly getting swiped by a number of mines th Loyalist's had laid. Their ships moved quickly round in two groups, trying to outflank the fifty Loyalist defenders and crush them.

Meanwhile, fifty Rebel ships began a quick raid of Yori. (OOC note: they will probably move out on Carnotaur's next post)

---------------------------------------

After much thought, the ITA convoy-fleet had not been disbanded. From NSI-838, the fourty or so ITA ships, protected by around fourty Miranu vessels, hyperspaced into the Kedan system on "peacekeeping" efforts.

Fourty Miranu vessels and the ten armed ITA Stargliders quickly engaged the fifteen defending Rebel ships. Of the ten Stargliders, six were incinerated, mostly by space mines. The battle was still short.

The ITA convoy-escort moved down towards Kedan, where it would begin it's "liberation" of Kedan. The convoy was filled with volunteer Igadzra civilians, all armed, and various bombardment weaponry. However, the ITA intended to take Kedan with as little violence as possible.

A message was also sent to the Zidagar.

(From the ITA Convoy-escort Peacemaking Effort)
(To the Miranu Command)

We are liberating Kedan, thanks to your help. If you would be so kind as to bring more of your ships into this area, we can continue freeing the Zidagar.

Mirava system

Admist a vast field of debris, subspace rifts, and gas clouds, a pinpoint of light formed. It burst then to form a jump point to hyperspace and from it came a single small vessel. It was Kiran in design, a slipfighter made for speed and combat. Its emerald green hull shined whenever sunlight managed to get through the debris and hit it. The slipfighter blazed with amazing skill through the large junkyard and past hazards such as gas clouds and rifts caused by heavy weapons fire over six years ago. After nearly a half-hour of dodging through the field, the ship came to veiw the planet of Mira. The planet had changed greatly over the last weeks since the Federation and Voinian Empire decided on breathing life back into the once-dead world.

The pilot came within veiw of the fleet ships around the planet and merely headed down into the planet after giving a code that indicated the pilot of mysterious vessel was amongst the high ranks of the Kiran Order. That and it had been the first sighting of any Kiran vessel in a while. It landed on in a certain place and from the fighter emerged a cloaked and hooded figure who's race could not be determined. The figure walked until she was intercepted by a Fed officer who looked at the figure before asking her business. In a voice obviously female the figure said only, "My words are for President Carnotaur himself and no others. Please take me to him, Lieutenant." The officer was a bit puzzled but after a moment decided that it would be best. How else would the mystery of the Kiran's disapperence be explained. The officer quietly led the cloaked woman to Carnotaur.

Grunadulater wanted a new dreadnaught to be in top condition in (30 posts).
-------
The battle raged on in Gadzair. The dreadnaught pounded any ship that came near it, which was very often. The rest of the Edien fleet had pulled forward and were actually in the Fed fleet.
-------
The highly upgraded fighter zipped around past the Fed battlecrusiers. It turned, distracting as many as possible. All fire shot toward it but it all missed. Then the fighter launched a missile at a battlecrusier that had other ships around it. With the ship breaking the sound barrier, the missile sped to the middle of the BC before exploding. All viewports on the ship broke with fire spewing out as the fighter sped away. The BC turned into a fireball that took several ships with it. the fighter then hit a small metoeroid and bounced a bit. It appeared to do no dammage. The fighter sped up as it came near another BC. Its missiles were a bit overwheated so it decided to play around with the other ships. It flew around ship after ship until it turned around and saw yellow liquid floating around. The fuel meter on his ship stated very very little was left. Then a single shot came toward the fighter. The small interceptor shot all its missiles in all directions, a few hitting fighters, another hitting a small cluster of federation ships. then the fighter flew very close to a BC that wasn't paying attention just as the shot hit. An explosion knocked the BC into a spin but the fuel train blazed like a wild fire. It burned through any ship in its path until it finially ended.
-------
The dreadnaught flew towards the fleet with its turrets blazing. It was like a shield of fire. As it crossed paths with any ship, no matter how big, that ship was gone in an instant. Missiles were fying everywhere. Aboard the Dreadnaught, Grunadulater was taling to a commander.
"Our shields have reached 80% Sire. This ship is a great marvel."

Carnotaur had just emerged from his meeting with SilverDragon and was rather annoyed by the appearance of a Kiran, especially such a demanding one. He reluctantly ordered the other officers and soldiers out of the room. "Well, no one's watching. What do you want?"

------------

The Federation fought on, but soon they realized they were out of luck.

As ordered to by Admiral Scorcher, the Federate fleet hyperspaced out towards Emnin. The Ediens followed, and the Federation then hyperspaced out towards Tolb. However, as soon as they were in Tolb, they turned around and hyperspaced out back into Emnin. When they got there, they engaged the Edien fleet when it came out of hyperspace. The Dreadnaught, however, was 1 hour slower than the rest of the fleet, so it gave the Feds some time to do a bit of damage to the rest of the Edien fleet...

------------

Meanwhile, ships were amassing in Notil. The Federation have 15,000 ships there already. The Voinians sent another 15,000. The Igadzra Republic had dispatched approximately 200 vessels to aid the Federation as well. Reports were coming in that the Kayans, Azdgari, and Miranu were also intending to send some ships as well. Even though they couldn't do much, they could at least come to see one of the biggest space navy battles in history...

Message to Kayans and Horoth
Turns out the attack will have to be postponed. My ship counts were badly exageratted, the accurate RA ship count is only around 20! Our Operation "ant farm" will vastly increase the RA's available shipyard output, but it wont be done for a few more days. The attack has been replanned to two weeks from now. The RA wont be able to spare any vessels before then. I urge the Horoth to go ahead and strike, with the Kayan fleet. The plan is to warp into northern Akrahd systems, wipe out the in-system fleet as fast as possible, and use mines to prevent any counterattacks. I have outfitted a few dozen Horoth vessels with the RA's most powerful weopon- the SDM launcher. The RA will send reinforcements as soon as possible. The final decision is in the hands of the Horoth. RA, over and out.

The hooded figure looked around to see and seemed satisfyed. "I have two messages for you, Captain. The first one is from Fleet Commander Ravens, current leader of our Order. The Kiran are leaving this galaxy, all those who have survived this war. That includes every member of every race. A few days ago we found a wormhole leading to the Homeguard galaxy, from whence the Commonwealth crusiers came. We have been drawn to it and are leaving this world as well. All remaining Kisani go with us as well, including those who came from Homeguard. We wish this could be otherwise but this is not our place and our time has long passed since the death of Commander Kael. We did not want to leave without explaining our disapperence or expressing our thanks. The Kiran Order thanks you and has not forgotten our allies. We have left you with a gift, though it is small indeed. On Kayia there remains three Commonwealth ships: a carrier, a colony ship, and Major Arik Kael's former battlecrusier and along with these ships their databanks hold the information to our eon pulse cannons, though I do not know how greatly they will help you in the war."

The hooded figure stopped for a moment and reached into the folds of her cloak to retrive a small holoemiter. She placed it on the ground and set it on a timed startup. Looking at Carnotaur the figure said one last thing, "The second message is from someone who wanted you to hear this before we left. Farewell, President and may you succede in your war."

The figure turned to leave and as she did, the emmiter activated and an image came into veiw. It was that of Hawk Kael. "Greetings, Mr. President, and farewell as well. If you are hearing this then it is nearing the time when my Order is leaving known space. I wish it were otherwise, but I would not be able to stop it because they are being called by something far greater then any one of us. One of those reasons is because the Fates are withdrawing from this galaxy as well, save for a few. I wish to relay my thanks and gratitude to you for all the help you've been to my people in seeing them through this. I have lived over two centuries and in my time as a renegade and Kiran, I have seen very few people with your guts or bravery. I had Sisay bring you an object that holds the road to Kisa and her wonders as well as the entire history of the Kisani race and I trust you will make good use of it. Kisa is yours now, so be nice to the system or I'll have to hurt you. One other thing, though. There is a rumor that a force thought destroyed more then six years ago exists and are gathering their forces somewhere in the North Tip Asteroid Belt. I know not which force it is, but keep an eye out for them because they may become a needed edge. Farewell, President." With that the image faded. In the distance a roar could be heard as the slipfighter took off and disappered from sight.

Cap'n Redeye's Azdara, as he is shooting through the system of Mark, is tracked and blown to pieces while getting away from the planet. Just barely in time he ejects with the most precious thing he has left, a datacard containing vital information on how to take the planet. His escape pod jumps into hyperspace as ships roar after him, hoping to destroy him. Three more days passed and Cap'n Redeye's pod exited hyperspace in the Kaiya system. He is picked up by a passing freighter, which offers to take him down to the planet. He agrees, hoping to find Captain Hardslab............

The Templar would be repaired in nine days (3 posts) now, and would be outfitted completely with SAIs to make it more powerful than ever before. A new IGNA commander had still not been found, although the search continued.

Meanwhile, the situation with funding was laying off slightly - becoming slightly more manageable. Within a few weeks, the Citadel Station would be completed and set up in Draco, one of the two IGNA systems, the other being Zeus.

We are glad to hear that the situation is now under your control. We have sent, attached to this message, a modest amount of 1.5 million credits to help you repair - it is all we can spare at the moment. Our space has become a haven for RA, Igadzra, and even a few Zidagar refugees - and refugees can put quite a strain on an economy. What we do have, though, is a surplus of metal. Kayan ship designs and builings are both light and rely more on polymers than on metal, resulting in a constant metal surplus. If you need it, we can easily send you several freighters full of metal to aid in your repair efforts. Simply say the word and they're on their way.

The RA were still wondering how they would defend their systems and increase their ship count when 2 Miranu heavy freighters, modified to look distinctly Kayan, and an escort of a gunship and several aradas entered the system. "This is the Kayan Gunship K.S.S. Harmonic calling the Renegade base - we have a delivery for you." As several RA ships looked on in interest, the two freighters entered low orbit of the RA homeworld and opened their cargo bay doors, allowing five Planetary Defense Drones to slowly float out. The Gunships launched their carried Fireflies, which used magnetic towlines to tow the defense drones into strategic positions around the planet. "Our production of Defense Drones is up to full speed now," the captain said to the RA ships, "And we have a few here - complete with the SDM technology you helped us outfit them with. We hope they help you defend your planet while you rebuild your fleet. A copy of the final design is included - though I believe you had one already. Feel free to produce more as you see fit." With this, most of the Kayan squadron turned around, jumping out back toward Kayan space. Two Aradas remained behind to conduct scans and tests of the drones, to make sure they were in perfect working order.

After recieving word that the counter-offensive would be postponed, the Kayan fleet assembled to join it broke up, some heading back to New Kayia, some splitting off into patrols of Kayan space, and a small portion sent to aid the RA and Horoth in their patrols and rebuilding efforts.

Back in his office, Thunder recieved the message from the Horoth, and jotted down a quick reply.

The Planetary Defense Drone is already completed and in production, though we would be glad to work with you to modify the design to help defend against the pirates more effectively. Several of our scientists and a working defense drone are already at the Joint station - I will ask them to remain there to work with you. Also, if you'd like a copy of the defense drone blueprints (without our enhanced defense pods, as those are still extremely classified designs), those are available on the Joint Station also. Feel free to pick up a copy and begin production of your own.

"Stealth is the key," the captain thought, as his firefly and those of his two collegues continued to trace the Pirate fleet back to it's destination. He was quite a strategist, well suited to military life. As the Pirate fleet continued on, nearly halfway across the system from them, the captain of the lead firefly had an idea.

"Sky leader to Sky three."

"Sky three here," the reply came, almst immediately as the lieutenant aboard the other fighter heard his ship's callsign.

"You see that asteroid we're about to pass?"

"Yeah, what about it?"

"I want you to plant a message bouy on the surface. Then wait on the surface until the Pirate fleet leaves the system, then take off and head back to RA space - preferably the very closest port. Be sure to tell them how our mission is going."

"Um, sir, why do you want me to do that?"

"The message bouy will allow us to send low power, low frequency signals back to nearby RA space - low enough in power and frequency that the Pirates hopefully won't be able to notice."

"And what if they do notice?"

"Then we'll hope our superior agility and speed is enough to let us get away. You have your orders, Lieutenant."

"Yes sir, plotting a descent course."

Stealthily, the firefly glided to the surface...

The dreadnaught arrived in Emnin to see the battle. Immediatly the Demon attacked, sending fighters everywhere. The battle went on for about 30 more minutes with the Ediens pounding. Suddenly all the Edien fighter went forward at top speed. They were only firing missiles(if they had any left). Then when they were almost out of the cloud of warships, they all fired. The larger ships in the back took the toll. Half of the Ediens fighter fleet had been taken out, killed or accidentaly ramming into ships. With the Federation ships at about 80,000, they all suddenly shot into hyperspace. Aboard the Demon, Grunadulater was talking to a scientist.
"Where did they go?"
"Ummm, traces of ion and carbon lead..... uhoh. Gadzair."Grunadulater sighed.
"Call the any fleet at Gadzair and any ships at ajacent systems, tell them to goto Gadzair and get ready! Launch the rest of our fleet into hyperspace now."

The pilot shook her cloaked hood and sighed. She would miss this galaxy as it had so much to offer, but destiny called. Wearyly she hit a console key and it sent out a broadband message.

Within seconds many ships showed up on sensors and the space about the slipfighter suddenly burst to life as a multitude of jump points formed, bringing the sensors to life. From these points jumped hundereds of ships, the last remaining ships of the Kiran order. The last to come to realspace was an old Blade, which had served for a good many decades. It was the Crusader, the last flagship of the Order, and was commanded by Fleet Commander Ravens. There was no words spoken between ships or great speeches to be spoken for it was not a joyus time. They were leaving this galaxy in a war that perhaps would never see a Golden Horizon, not with the Ediens still here. Yet in one last moment before they went under way, the Crusader turned about to fire a barage of torpedos as a farewell salute. With a silent order the fleet jumped as one into the gigantic wormhole and were soon lost in a malestorm of green and ebon light similar to hyperspace but of different hues.

With that the Kiran Order and the last of the Milky Way Kisani left their home galaxy, never to be heard from by their allies again...

Homeguard Galaxy, Vron space

The Edien fighter pilot awoke admist a hail of sparks to see he was not in Kansas any more. He suddenly saw his sensors light up, and amazed they still worked, looked over at a console. He saw from the wormhole that a large fleet of six hundered vessels appeared from the hole. They all bore Kiran signautures, save for the kilo long colony ship. He was about to make an attack run when they just jumped into hyperspace all of a sudden. He was prepared to follow them when suddenly his sensors went wild. He turned about to see a large ship of unknown orgin, almost three kilometers in lenght. A moment of wonder came over him, but it soon changed to horror as it emmited a single green pulse of energy. The Edien fighter was destroyed inside half a second as the pulse broke through the sheilds and hit the hull and plasma core.

It was not wise to stay in Vron space uninvited unless one did not jump to hyperspace rather quickly...

And thus my time in Golden Horizon ends. I wish all you people well.

REDchigh celebrates with the rest of the Rigel population when the finishing touches are done on the stations, and as irony would have it, the Kayan freightor arrived about an hour after the stations were first fired up. REDchigh goes over some lists, and realised that the RA dont have enough free resorces to build ships to full capacity, so he writes an executive order to use the emergency stockpile for shipbuilding, even though the stockpile will be depleted soon. he starts a new message...

Message to: Kayans and Horoth
The RA would like to thank you for all your help, and we have but one more thing to ask. the RA's shipbuilding stations are completed, and the five stations each have about as much shipbuilding capacity as a small planet. The RA's shipyards have been highly upgraded, and our capacity is distinctly higher than it's ever been, however, our economy is drained and we lack the resorces for any major shipbuilding. If you could only spare some resorces, you would be able to pull back some of your patrols in our space, and our combined armada would be vastly increased. Thank you.

Redchigh watches as the fireflies move the defense drones into their final position, and he suddenly has an idea...

Message to the Horoth
I would like to thank you for the Defense drones. As I watched your fireflies move the drones into their final position, I had an idea. What if you could build a bay for the drones? It would increase our protection in case of attack, and increase the punch of our offensive if you could lay a few defense drones while the horoth laid their mines... just an idea, its up to you.

Igadzra Administrative Command
Eight figures, cloaked in heavy black robes, adorned in golden jewellery but with no particularly visible sign of their rank sat around a table painted golden, in a large domed room. The sky outside was filled with purple clouds, dotted with spaceships. A handful of independant stargliders and other Miranu-build vessels were either taking off or docking, and more noticeably, fifteen golden Izars were making a delightful patrol in the sky.

The figures at the table had datapads in front of them, and a large holographic display was placed in the centre of the table. The rest of the table was covered with all sorts of datapads and primitive sketches made onto a rarely used substance called paper. Descriptions of shipping convoys, naval specifications, personnel counts, everything. The glossy gold face of the table was barely visible.

This was the meeting room of the newly formed IAC, the Igadzra Administrative Command. With the resignation of "Emperor" SilverDragon, mostly due to extreme pressure from his advisors and the Council. The eight figures were the members of the Assembly, the most prominent figures in the IAC. No one member of the Assembly outranked another, but their wit and knowledge usually gave them an edge in different areas.

"So..." Karsha of the Assembly said, breaking the silence that seemed to begin every meeting. "What is there to discuss?"

"Well..." Raeon of the Assembly muttered, "we have the problem of funding currently. Heraphar has a contract on us that states we will supply him with 250,000 credits a day from the day IGNA's Operation Proving Grounds ends to...a month later."

Tessek laughed. "Hardly a problem. Tell President Heraphar and the ITA that the funds are simply not available. Right now, we need to re-form the IGNA armada."

Karsha frowned, an action she was quite good at. "Another fifteen Izars have been constructed, putting our numbers at fourty five. Still...Izars may be truely powerful vessels, but they are hardly Izagas or Igazras."

Mandell, another Assembly member, the self proclaimed defence minister, spoke up quickly. "Fourty Izars, coupled with protection from other governments, if sufficient to convince the Akrahd not to move. Meanwhile, in three days we can begin constructing Izagas to supply some more strength to the lines. On estimate, it will take about a month to make sixty Izagas, which should be in time."

"Actually, we received a message from the Kayans. They are offering surplus metals on top of their support in money. With those metals, we can speed up the construction of Izagas considerably," Tessek noted.

"Hmm...in my opinion, I think once we've established sixty Izars, we should complete production of the Citadel," Raeon muttered.

The conversation went on for hours, and several key decisions were agreed on. After constructing another fifteen Izars the Citadel would be completed, with Kayan help with metals. After that Izagas and finally Igazras would be built.

Along with the Citadel project, the ITA would be supplied some small funding to forfill their goals - which was, as stated by President Heraphar, to colonise Oloni.

Oloni had only one planet that could be colonised, a large planet called Oloni Prime. It was rich in food supplies, but very low in any ores or gases that could be used. The planet would be very useful as an industrial world, however, thanks to near perfect gravity forces and flat land. The colonisation of Oloni, including a shipyard, would take fifteen days, and would start and finish in unison with the Citadel Station, which had been decided to be set up in Appnyl for now, thus creating a new IGNA stronghold as well as a new ITA one.

(From the Assembly, Igadzra Administrative Command)
(To the Kayan Command)

We gratiously accept your offer of metal supplies. However, we would like to first complete a project we are working on, which we would rather use our own metals for.

We will contact you again in fifteen days, at which point we would be extremely in your debt if you could supply us with some of your surplus metals, in exchange for our continued goodwill and a pact of friendship between our races.

Thank you,
The Assembly

Igadzra Grand Naval Arm
The officers of IGNA had mostly been killed during Operation Proving Grounds, and thus finding a suitable leader of IGNA seemed difficult. However, one personnage caught the eye of both the logistical commanders and the IAC. This was a man called Evaniol, who had been a commander of a Strandless militia force that had for long worked in conjunction with the Kayans. Evaniol had fled from the Ediens like everyone else, and in the Large Megellanic Cloud had made his way into the Igadzra Union has an independant captain, mostly trading between Miranu and Kayan worlds.

Evaniol was put down as a "Deadly" pilot by interstellar records, and he was currently the captain of a Crescent Warship. Reports had shown that he had helped tremendously working alone destroying pirates, which had gained him quite a reputation in Bellaraphon.

It was thus that Evaniol became "Commander" Evaniol, leader of IGNA. He was, to say the least, somewhat surprised, but it was obvious from the start that the Assembly would have a lot of say in things. Evaniol was just a little too intelligent, and he didn't intend to let the Assembly take control of him.

His first action was to place 15 Izars in Draco, 15 Izars in Zeus, and spread the other 15 throughout ITA and IAC space. His second was to make sure that the Citadel would be placed in Appnyl to provide an extra line of defence.

Igadzra Trading Authority
Kedan had been liberated, and despite some beliefs it was really liberated, and not just annexed. The Zidagar there were as free as they could be, and the Igadzra population simply merged into them. The planet was almost harmonious, it seemed.

President Heraphar was at this point not on Kedan, but on Saopallo, preparing for the colonisation of Oloni, which would then be the capital of the ITA. He was also organising with the ITA on Kedan with plans on their next move.

If possible, they were to liberate Coya next, but this would take reinforcements from other sources first.

(From President Heraphar of the ITA)
(To Azdgari, Miranu)

We would greatly appreciate it if we could discuss the Zidagar matter together. The Miranu are already helping us greatly - perhaps we could meet in Kedan in a week or so to discuss actions further. Kedan is now an ITA protectorate.

Thank you.

Word.

The Savior had escaped by luck: speed was not the problem because it was Ťjustť faster than an asteroid. The problem came from the ennemy torpedoes that were sent. Not being able to jam them, even not partially, when many where in the direction would cause heavy damage. They had decided to change six of the twelve remainning in fighters bays, mopre effective than changing them into destroyer docks. This would had twelve more fighters to the forty. The debriefing aslo suggested to create new strategies to organize the defence of the Savior and coordonate the future seven squadrons abort.

The WHG scientists had restarted their work after a Ťfreeť week. The stability of the tachyon emitters had reached an acceptable level of 99,99%. It was not sufficient because of the long distance and when the increasing amount of energy that would have to be deployed during the trip. Fortunately, the sub-space generators were at their finest level of stability, mostly because of the complementary data provided by the Federation, which had been acquired by the Kayans. Some capaciators had been added in order to increase to power availability.

The Savior will be equiped with a function worm-hole generator in about ten weeks. The first flight will be done from the Milky Way to the Large Megallantic Cloud. In your last message, you mentioned that on Horath a quiet powerful source of energy was available. We would like to know more about it in order to use it to let more mass pass through the worm-hole. A few other ships could travel along the Savior.
The last exercice has let us understand that the Savior would not be able to resist to a fleet of one thousand militay vessels, and even less if it has to pass through a mine field. In order to balance the chances, equipping the any ship that would travel to the Andromeda galaxy with the multi-reflexive shield. Thus, a technological exchange could be possible with further approval or request from you.

The worm-hole generator will be ready in about ten weeks to be tested from the Milky Way to the Large Megallantic Cloud. If the Federation which to send more than just scientists and ambassador, make it clear before the departure time. A few ships will probably be allowed to travel if more energy can be supplied.

The Tachy-kinetic gun had been fully tested and the production had already started. A squadron was now analysing the tactics to use it at best. In three weeks, all Sladerei forces will be equiped with the new weapon. The power of 16 against shields and of 12 against armor. Its medium range makes it useful with the fast Sladerei vessels.

The station was now ready to construct Sladerei ships and in less than a week, undertake the space-farm fabrication. Most of the Sladerei ships will be done on Grenits but about ten percent will be left for the station. The stellar defense system was now under test on one of the 106 space-farms. Two multi-kinetic turrets had been fitted. The sensors were IR and Radar. The system was partially independant from Grenits: autonomous to target and fire, it neaded the order to shoot. This order would be communicated a few minutes before the engagement.

Salutations ŕ la vie

Igadzra Administrative Command
The Assembly had no meeting this time, although there was great activity. Mandell had met with Commander Evaniol to help organise the reparation of the IGNA armada. This meeting took place in Draco, which was IGNA's current capital (once the Citadel had been constructed and placed in Appnyl that would be the new capital.)

Evaniol had been gladly given full control of IGNA, although for a while Mandell of the Assembly would "instruct" him to ensure he made no mistakes.

IGNA was busy. The Templar had been shipped out of the Gateway to Zeus, where the final touches were being made. Meanwhile, the Citadel Station was being undergone again, and would be complete in fifteen days.

With 60 Izars in space, the standard construction had been put aside. IGNA's funding was concentrating now on fixing up the Templar and to finish constructing the Citadel.

Major colonisation of Oloni had already began, mostly using funds from the Kayans. It would be colonised by about the time the Citadel was completed.
