Carnotaur looked up from his tactical reports as Hawk, escorted by three guards, entered his office. Carnotaur frowned at the sergent's report, then gave him a little lesson on being more "Diplomatic", then he turned to Hawk. "Guards, you may leave," he said.
"What? But sir..." The sergent protested.
"You can stand outside the door and come in if there's trouble."
The sergent reluctantly sighed then he and the two guards exited.
"The only reason I made those guards go out is because I trust you're wise enough not to do anything stupid right now."
Hawk remained silent.
"Now, I just got a message from an anonymous sender," Carnotaur said, showing the message to Hawk. "Now what does this mean and why exactly are you here?"

Hawk looked at the message and bit back a chuckle. Looking up at Carnotaur he said, "Mr. President, this has plauged me once and a while. A decade before I went into retirement, I had a rival in the renegade factions, a half-Kisani who resented the fact that I was more successful. He has done stuff like this from time to time, costing me dearly in jobs. I assure you that I gave up my renegade ways long ago, well long ago when compared by you humans."
The Kisani looked from the message and looked Carnotaur in the eyes. "As for who I am, it says cleary here. I will not tell you anymore. As for why I'm here, I've come to ask your help. The reason why I come to you is because those who I trust are gone; my people, whoes homeworld you now use, the Miranu, and the Renegade Alliance. I don't trust the Voinian Empire because of their history and the Igadzra would shoot me on sight because my name is a legend to them. I do not brag when I say that I was a legend, nor do I deny that I have been a renegade."
"I ask for your help and in return I may have something you can use against the Ediens." The Kisani pulled the old book from his bag and held it up. "In this book could be some ways to help you; in more ways then one." He pointed over to his staff weapon and continued, "That weapon over there seems harmless because of its size right now, but ask your guard who got his jaw bruised what its capable of."
"I need to know if you can help me. Because if not, then I've wasted both of our times and I will leave your space in search of someone who might be able to help. I despise the Ediens and am commited to bringing them down, but I will do so myself if you're not willing to help."
Hawk awaited Carnotaur's reply

Carnotaur nodded and looked at the book. "This is quite interesting. What exactly do you need?"
Suddenly, Carnotaur remember another thing. "Also, do you or this book know anything about sending high amplitude messages through a sub-space rift?"
Sorry, I wont be able to writte anything for a few weeks, please replace me.
Nelson
------------------
Okay. Sorry to see you go Admiral Nelson. Just remember that you can always come back and become the second-in-command for the Sladerei.
Hawk looked at the President and said simply, "I would have need of the things you're building afterwards. In this book holds the technology and star finidngs of one of my people's most renowned explorers. I don't know if humans would understand this, but my people were ancinet when the Strands came to be. We were among the first and our technology in the Kisani's heyday was beyond your imanigeation. At our command were jumpgates that could take us anywhere in our space and beyond. They were different from Ediens, in that we couldn't jump galaxies. We traveled the Slipstream with technology beyond your slipstream drives now." His thoughts had fadded into the past and a reverie
When he heard Carnotaur, he shook his head and answered the truth. "If you mean to speak to the refugees, then no. My people, for all our past techs, have never once stumbled on what you used to catapult people to another galaxy. We did use wormholes when they accured, but even those had limits. Wormholes don't catapult you across an otherwise 750,000 year journey to another galaxy." he looked at the time and then out the window.
The Kisani then became very serious as he spoke, "I might have something else that could be useful to you..."
"What would that be?" Carnotaur asked. "And you still have not said what you wanted from the Federation. You're being quite vague."
Fusions Scoops:6 turns
At the Kayan science institute, several graduate students worked feverishly to solve a mystery that had been plaguing their Advanced Spacial Mechanics class for over a week. Several merchant ships that had entered the New Kayia stardock had been polarized with a barely noticable energy signature. This signature was weak, so weak that it took a deep level sensor sweep to detect it (not a standard procedure, but a good way of finding smugglers when they are suspected), and even then it was nearly thrown out as an anomoly. Five ships that had arrived within the last two weeks had been polarized with this weak energy signature, one that didn't match any known shield, weapon, or solar frequency in the New Galaxy.
Currently the Kayan students were in the process of tracing each ship's routes over the last several days, to see where they might have acquired this odd energy trace. The only correlation was that all ships had been in the Rigel system within several days before heading to New Kayia, all on trade runs between Kayan and Renegade Alliance space. The leading theory at the moment was that it had something to do with a residual effect of the sub space rift that had brought the refugees to the new galaxy - some energy signature of some kind. It would be quite a while, though, before they could figure out why that energy was there... maybe even a field trip to Rigel. For now, the students were content to work in relative obscurity, mapping out the exact frequency and signature of the energy pattern.
Research status - Kayan Firefly - 4 posts to completion
------------------ Ad Astra Per Aspera - "A rough road leads to the stars"
Small Mod Note: Thunder, please remember that the sub-space rift has two exit points; the main one in Deneba where most of the ships from the refugees came in, and a second one in Rigel, where mostly Renegade refugees came through. So, the energy signature would probably be more noticable for ships coming in and out of Deneba, not Rigel.
REDchigh listens to the Horoth leader, then nods. "Our scouts have confirmed thet the Akrahd are only two jumps away from my 3rd most populated planet, and due to the fact that the Akrahd followed and attacked the fleet, we know that a battle is inevitable. An Alliance would be extremely beneficial, and so would a weapons trade. Coonsider the Renegade Alliance as your new Ally. I also suggest that we immediatly open a stronger trade agreement. I will also donate one of my mighty silver warships, and two silver laziras to your cause, they will be ready for escort through the mine field after I return."
------------------------------------------------ Tech: SDM's COMPLETED and OUTFITTED on: Silver warships (1 launcher, 10 modules) and will be on the the RA's flagship (3 launchers, 60 mudules) when it returns to Rigel.
----------------------------------------------- Meanwhile: Patrol Fleet Gamma jumps into Regula Prime. They contact the planet, nothing unusual, they set up their scanners, and the techinician calls the captain over to the console, and they both turn quite pale. Captain is the first to speak "Damnit. Its the Akrahd. We only made contact a few days ago. They might be scouting, just watching us making sure we dont make any offenses.." "I dont... hey! its moving! TOWARDS THIS SYSTEM!" "OPEN COMM TO REBEGADE ALLIANCE MILITARY COMMAND! "This is the Captain of Patrol Fleet Gama, requesting Immediate backup, this is a Class II emergency, requesting Immediate backup! <cuts comm> Crew, to the battle stations. We're in for a fight." a few seconds later, the Akrahd fleet warps in, (2 Akrahd carriers, 5 destroyers, 7 gunships, and a battleship)and the Silver warship is rocked as Akrahd missiles collide with the hull. "Sir, shields at 82%" "Fleet, alpha attack pattern, warm up escape pods, we'll need them. Fire all SDM's at the carrier, we need to take it out before it launches all it's fighters. Helians and fighters, try and stay out of range of the flak. The RA fleet fights bravely, but the RA only have a silver warship, 3 laziras, 4 aradas, 6 helians, and 7 C. fighters in the system. The SDM's gradually tear through the hull of the Carrier, but the heavy fighters attack the warship, and the laziras and aradas try to take on the battleship, but no avail, the Akrahd turrets and flak do massive damage, and the missiles wear down the RA's shields. Suddenly, several aradas explode as Akrahd missiles are fired again. The Glimmer missiles manage to take out several fighters and a gunship, but the battle is in favor of the Akrahd. Both fleets take massive losses, but right as the Silver fleet is about to retreat, two reinforcement fleets jump in, on from Rigel, that includes 3 silver warships, 6 laziras 9 aradas, 12 helians, and one from Regula major, which includes a silver warship, 5 laziras, 8 aradas, and 12 fighters. The balance suddenly changes, with the RA having the upper hand. the Glimmer missiles and SDM's finish off the battleship, and the fighters and helians manage to engage, then destroy the released fighters, 3 gunships, and start on the destroyers, while the aradas engage the other gunships. The Silverwarships gang up on the other carrier, and the Laziras thin out the rest of the fighters as they're released and go finish the destroyer. The Akrahd's shields drop, then fail, and the gunships and fighters go bubye. now, desctruction is emminent for the carriers, and they try to escape, but the glimmer missiles and a few more SDM's disable them before they get away. The RA lets the Akrahd escape pods drift in the direction of horoth space, and recovers their own crew.
Akrahd losses 5 destroyers 7 gunships 1 battleship 2 carriers, disabled, being held in orbit around rigel for further study, the surviving crew in cells deep inside Rigel.

Shadows moved across the dark room, adding a dreadful feeling to the situation. The Emperor, seated in his throne near the middle of the room, was clearly visible; his reptilian-like skin shinning from the intensity of the glowing blue eyes. Admiral Tach'usd stared straight ahead, trying not to look directly into his eyes. Hk'ryund's stare had always made her vaguely uncomfortable. Ly'rak, walking along side her, was oblivious to her concern. He continually said she was overly paranoid. But she was convinced there was something strange about Hk'ryund; An almost dreamy and somewhat distant quality to his actions and commands that countered the pure intensity and controlling qualities in his voice.
" My lord," Ly'rak began as they both bowed down, "Your fleet is almost ready. A few hundred more vessels, and we will be ready to take the Milky Way Galaxy from the pitiful resistors."
"Excellent, Admiral Ly'rak," Hk'ryund said to the younger Edien. "Your devotion to exterminating the Federation and the Voinians is Commendable." The Emperor said, his eyes growing dimmer as he squinted. Then he turned towards Tach'usd. "Admiral Tach'usd, are you and your team ready for your mission into Federation space?" he asked, almost lazily.
"Yes, your Highness." Tach'usd had been working out the details of their mission for a week now, and was prepared to infiltrate the Federation. "We have properly brain-washed a few of our alien slaves, and are confident that they will perform admirably, with our direction, of course." She stated.
"Admirals you are dismissed. Ly'rak, I wont you to have control of the Voinian capital in one month, and the rest of their space in half a year. Tachusd," he said, again turning towards her, "I want your team to bring me valuable information about the Federation." he said before closing his eyes as the intensity from his eyes faded away.
Both Admirals walked slowly away, back towards the exit. Along the way, they passed General Grathon, who appeared extremely nervous as he approached the Emperor.
Ly'rak and Tach'usd hurried out of the room. "What!" Emperor Rigadaz hissed, lossing all of his self control. "Just a few days ago, you told me we were close to completion. Now were months off? How can you let this happen, Grathon?" Hk'ryund shouted.
"Your Highness, it wasn't my fault. The Dreadnought design is proving harder to complete at this stage then originally believed, but I promise you that within time, our project will be completed." Grathon defended himself.
"I want that project completed NOW!" Rigadaz shouted, his Eyes brighter than Grathon had ever seen them.
"Yes Sir!" Grathon responded running out of the sanctuary, attempting to leave the Emperor with all his rage as he rushed towards the Research department. The scene of utter devestation that filled General Kli'cyeg's eyes was beyond belief. Wreckage was everywhere, and few of the Edien ships were still in serviceable order. The Rarkyl had caused a lot more Chaos than the Edien Empire realized. General Kli'cyeg knew they were capable of a lot more too, but the Emperor would never agree.
"Start cleaning this mess up," he ordered his crew. "It's going to be a long day," he proclaimed.
------------------ <XXXXXXXL===============> When did I go Insane? <XXXXXXXL
Suddenly, a red alert siren sounded and General Kli'cyeg turned around to see the sensor officer looking worried. "What is it?" he demanded.
"Sir! Two Rarkyl Battlecruisers approaching!"
General Kli'cyeg turned to see the two formidable Rarkyl ships approaching his battlecruiser. "Open a comlink to the lead cruiser," Kli'cyeg ordered.
When the com officer nodded Kli'cyeg spoke. "Rarkyl vessels, this is General Kli'cyeg of the Edien Empire. Surrender immediately or you shall be destroyed!"
"Lets hope that works. Stupid cowardly Rarkyl, won't even speak back..." General Kli'cyegs thoughts were cut short as he heard the reptilian voice of a Rarkyl come over the comlink.
"Ha ha ha ha ha ha! We won't surrender to you Edien scum!"
General Kli'cyeg felt a chill come over him. He didn't know what it was exactly, all he knew was that whenever a Rarkyl spoke he always fealt a sense of fear come over him. Looking around, Kli'cyeg soon realized from the faces of the others in the room that they too were afraid.
BANG! A barrage of concussion missiles slammed into the generals battlecruiser. "Return fire!" he ordered.
As the battlecruiser returned fire, two other Edien battlecruisers appeared. The Rarkyl, seeing they were outgunned, promptly retreated back into the nebula. As General Kli'cyeg tried to relax, he thought to himself. "This will be the longest day of my life."
Prime Leader RMA listens to the offer from the Renagade Alliance, and is pleased at the rapidity of the offer. "The offer of one of your powerful warships is greatly appreciated, and in return, we can offer plans on our shield technology. Your sensors are advanced enough to detect ships through the stealth field emitted by our shields, so if we work together, we will be able to make a more advanced version, impervious to scans. Adapting each of our shield technologies to each other will take some work, but adding the brute force of your design to our usually small designs will give a massive power increase. We will send a sample back with you. "Adapting our armour enhancing technology will be more difficult, since it is always built into a ship during construction. Outfitting it on an already built ship will take more work however. Once we have the silver warship and laziras, we will look into easier ways of making the installation. "I can order construction started on an outpost in the system between Mar'Nath & Centaur, to facilitate trade between us, and ensure none of your ships has an accident with our minefields."

The ground shook about the office and ouside, though nothing was broken or collasped. Suddenly many bright lights burst in the sky, as if stars had shone before night had come. But after several seconds, they turned out to be jump points opening...in the moons atmosphere. From the points emerged flashes of silver, blue, lavendar, green, white and yellow; they were ships of many configurations and classes, numbering dozens in number as they flew above New Boston.
When Hawk looked back to see Carnotaurs startled look, he smiled and turned back to the window and pointed to the ships.
Three thousand years ago, the Kisani people had just recovered from a three century civil war. We had lost much during that war and even darker wars 4500 years before the start of the civil wars. From this sprung Draven, a Kisani whos clan was unknown. He assumed the throne of the Kisani Kingdoms and became our first High King in a hundred years who thought of only peace. Over his course two hundred year rule, Draven helped to bring commerce and life back to the shattered remains of Kisani space, which had shruken in size. During his reign he foretold of many darknesses to come and he founded a secret force which would help to prevent them. They have done so for the most part, secretly stopping alien forces from those beyond the North Tip Asteriod Belt or the Nebulae or protecting those worlds who would fall before they became a beackon of light. And for centuries they have been bidding their time and building in strenght.
The Kisanis arms came down and he folded them. They are the Kiran, those who walk in shadows and live in mystery. They come from many walks of life and can be anything. They could be a mere commoner or your most trusted comrade. They come from nowhere to strike at those who dare threaten this galaxy and fade back into the darkness. Any ships bought from wreakyards or found floating derelicts, they have fixed. They number in the tens of thousands and consit of remainng Kisani, humans, Emalghion, Miranu, Igadzra, Azdgari, Zidagar, and some Strandless. He pointed up again and said, Those ships are but a sixth of their numbers.
My years in hiding were not for naught; I sought out those who remained after the Ediens struck and found out that a corrupt Kisani-Voinian was leading them. He had known about the Ediens and yet did nothing about it. He had claimed they were peaceful, but knew their true nature; he thought he could bargain in leaving my homeworld alone, but they were slaughtered anyways. When he found out who I was, he tryed to kill me and I slayed him in self-defense. I am not their leader, but they follow me nonetheless. The reason why we are here is simple: to atone for their actions and to show that my people did not die in vain. We are here to ally with you and for the first time in three thousnad years make ourselves known. We will act as information gatherers, messengers, warriors, and guides in your war against the Ediens. We know the corridors of slipstream and the chaos of hyperspace far bette then any others and we will be of great help. All I need to know is one thing.
The Kisanis voice was calm and clear, his voice steady. Will you help us in one thing? I need you to build for me this. Hawk opened the massive book in his hands to a page showing the texts and picture of a fighter-type ship. The text was written in Kial, the Kisanis dialect. Hawk reached into the folds of his leather vest and pulled out a small holo-imager. It suddenly came to life as Hawk placed it on the book and a projection was emited from it. The images showed were of a ship very similar to an Arada, save its hull was emerald in color and her egines glowed silver instead of purple. They were skematics to a ship. This ship was a fighter used over 8,000 years by my people. It would put to shame one of your fighters many times over. My people called it a slipfighter. And this is what I need for you to build.
Having been guided through the Horoth minefield by the Horoth fleet, the Kayan ambassador squadron arrived in the Horoth home system. (I'm assuming the instructions for the Kayans will be similar to those of the RA, I can edit if you want it different, RMA) After breif contact with the vessels and military in the system, the Kayans were instructed to proceed to the same base where the RA ships had just been. Following their instructions to the letter, the Kayan vessels proceeded to gain security clearance and dock. Several Horoth officials and quite a few guards were on hand as the Kayan ambassadors disembarked from the lead Kayan Gunship.
"Welcome, Kayans, to the Horath system."
"Thank you for the kind welcome," the lead ambassador replied. "Shall we proceed with the business at hand?"

At the New Kayia Research institute, three of the students working on the energy signature project made an amazing breakthrough. An identical energy signature, only of a much higher amplitude, was present on several other ships, all recently having come from the Deneba system. With this discovery, it was almost certain that the energy signatures had something to do with residual effects of the subspace rift that brought the refugees to the New Galaxy. Having completed all the research they could at the institute, two of the students accessed the local comm kiosk and prepared a message to the Azdgari and RA governments.
Message - Origin - New Kayia Research Institute, New Kayia Destinations - Azdgari government headquarters and RA government Headquarters High-band encription active
No doubt you are wondering why you have recieved a message from a pair of students at a Kayan science institute. We are studying unusual energy signatures of ships arriving at New Kayia, and have conclusive evidence that the energy signatures are a result of residual energy from the gateway that brought us to this galaxy. We wish to send one arada to the Rigel system, and one arada to the Deneba system, each outfitted with scientific equipment and scanners to run deep level scans of the systems, to determine the nature of this residual energy. It may (and we stress MAY) be possible to use this energy to get a message through the subspace rift we used to get here, or even to re-open it. But none of this can happen unless we get your permission to send one scientific vessel to examine the sources of the energy, which lie within your territory.
We eagerly await your responses.
-Ala Kecin and Flykan Akra, Graduate Students, New Kayia Research Institute

Reply to: Kayan university We would welcome the Arada, however, we are currently under attack from two different govts, and it would be exceedingly dangerous. If you wish to proceed, we will send 4 aradas and 8 helians you kayan space, to escort your arada. end

"I'm sorry, this must be important." The horoth leader loks confused and annoyed, but nods. The laptop has a message from lawrence. REDchigh is suddenly filled with rage. "Horoth, my govt has just sustained an attack from the Akrahd. It was probably a test of our power. There will probably be more attacks in the time to come. I'd like to ask you for the blueprints of your mines. I understand, this is your only defense against the Akrahd, but my govt cannot hold out long on its own..." his voice trails off....

Prime leader RMA speaks to the Kayan Ambassador: "Welcome to the Horoth system. We've just had succesful talks with the RA leadership, and we are hoping for similar succes with you. "Our main reasons for requesting these talks are a race to the south of us called the Akrahd. They arte responsible for this area of space being mainly empty of life. We have survived only because of our minefields. "If you agree to an exhcange, we would like to talk about your sensors, and how our stealth field could be improved. This would be a joint project, sharing the results. "......" Rest of conversation goes as it went with the RA. Typing out the same thing seems a bit pointless to me. An offer to set up an outpost in the system next to Gatangu(in the systems leading to Horoth space) is given, as is the increase of minefields in the link to that system to protect it better.
OOC:This relies on the Kayans accepting the fact the Akrahd are hostile. I dont want to spread things out over several posts though. Takes too long. Your move Thunder
