They're OK. The Galaxy Cutter is a cool civilian ship, but I'm partial to the AOG Destroyer.

I fly a modified confederate frigate which I actually captured with a scoutship. I didn't shoot it at all, but the frigate and two PT boats were attacked by a rebel destroyer and both the medium classers got disabled by torpedoes. I went after the destroyer and got all its ammo and schtuff, but couldnt capture it, then by some stroke of luck captured the frigate, it was sweet. now with all the RCS upgrades, thrust enhancements and turn thangies it can easily take out tyrant cruisers, attack cruisers, beam cruisers, battle dragons, and escort carriers (EV Empire plugin) Only trouble I have is with pirates +rebels attacking me, or dreadnaughts, which are just nasty.

YOU ARE EVIL!!. ok back to nice. I love piloting the Weave Beam Cruiser. It is fast, Can do a number on those Dreadnaughts, and it looks cool!

I tend to stay simple, a nice corvette. my normal outfit is 25 torps+launcher, 3 proton turrets, particle beam, and a few proton bolts. It takes down Reb. destroyers, and i've killed more than a few cruisers with it, though replacing the torps gets expensive (i like torps, leave me alone)

I prefer a Rapier with RCS, engine, accel upgrades, shield booster, shield capacitors, 4 lasers, 2 missle racks /w a 60 missle payload or 2 torp launchers /w 30 torpedos if I'm a mercenary.
As a rebel I use the destroyer with laser cannons, laser turrets, and lots of missles!
I fly in a shuttlecraft with 3 laser cannons, all 3 speed upgrades and a missile jammer, and rob the odd, unsuspecting kestrel.
Or I opt for my other pilot file and fly around in a Confed Cruiser with all the tweaks and 6 Rebel Cruiser escorts (took me bl--dy ages to get those)

The Destroyer E is unbeatable. (I use the EV Aurora plug-in)
I sort of included this in a Realm of Prey thread, but wanted to say it again. The ADB Osprey ship in RoP has 16 falcon fighters, and more space than you know what to do with. It is a little slow, even with the upgrades, and I'm finding the RoP aliens mission really hard. The other problem is that you can't replace the escorts once you lose them. I imagine this was Tim's way of discouraging people from stealing Ospreys, but even with 12 you can kill anyone you want to do without moving at all. Bliss....
Or should I be sticking with basic ships you can buy?
