While my contributions to the project were minimal, I had a great time watching this project expand, like a tree that keeps growing branches off its main trunk, and twigs off those branches. Eventually, I think, the complexity of Aftermath overwhelmed us. What wasn't fun was keeping all of our ideas secret. What Hudson and Raga have shown so far isn't half what was created. Just you wait.

I've beaten the game twice now (ranked #73 worldwide, excited about that!), but I never noticed the hints. Do
have anything to do with it at all?

The snowflakes still have no meaning for me. I searched high and low in the ice caves, haven't found anything helpful. Is this solvable without leaving the ice caves, with all the upgrades I can get up to this point? Does it have anything to do with that secret area with invisible walls? I haven't seen any other glowing snowflake symbols anywhere... that clue isn't helping me at all.

As a side note, I'm finding it tough to get the super wave gun without exploiting bugs in the game... how do I kill that turret or get through that wall?

I've noticed a couple odd things that Darwinians like to do, and I'm wondering if anyone has any explanations.
First, when a Darwinian dies, other Darwinians will release box-kite shaped objects that float up to the sky.
When a living Darwinian is near a Darwinian soul, the living Darwinian will face it and rock back and forth, as if operating a machine. This can result in a prayer circle if enough Darwinians are around.
Neither of these behaviors have affected my gameplay, but I'm still really curious.

When I use the option key and scroll to the left I see that there are no engineers available (no bar).
You're misunderstanding that. A bar simply indicates an upgrade. If an item is listed at all, it is available.
Edit: Also, this took me a long time (too long, don't ask) to figure out: if you let go of option before letting go of the mouse button after drawing a command, the program won't be run.
