The Aerobrake Junior

Using plague and some other tactics mentioned, I can defend against air attack, but it is very hard to attack, unless I airlift in a defiler, and the overlord miaculously does not get shot down. I guess I will try making more hydras and less devs. Thanks.

As for the gun comment, it's only so dangerous if the gun is loaded and the saftey is off. 😛 Drivers here are just careless, and the city is becoming a minature Atlanta (wwaayy too much traffic. The highways are currently being expanded to four lanes each, and it still isn't fixing most road problems). Getting a car is also a problem. Don't tell me those are cheap. 😛

I live in a family of eight (probably nine soon), so getting a car is my own responsibility. I'm hoping to get a job at some restaurant during the summer, and perhaps pursue some serious lawn care. Perhaps graphics could help me out in getting some extra income as well.

ares: My parents are in their mid-forties, and they ran out of energy a long time ago. 😉 I really don't care to drive so I can get involved in a social life (I just like being with my family), a license would just be handy to get siblings from place to place. It'd really take a lot of pressure off my mom. I'm also going to graduate early, so then she'll only have three kids to worry about homeschooling. 😛 My older brother and sister have already graduated, the latter currently in college.

Speaking of education, I finished my Economic credit today (yes!). Just one less thing to worry about...

Mac: Exactly. There are a lot of restrictions on 16/17 year old drivers in Tennessee, and you don't get a complete license until 18 (which I think is good). Hopefully my good grades will get me somewhere as well. 😛

Interesting fact: You will get pulled over by a cop for actually going the speed limit on the interstate in Atlanta. The excuse is "you're slowing down traffic!" Heh. You will get run over if you don't speed in that zoo-of-a-city...

Yeah, sisters are hell. Mine is only 2 minutes older than me, about half a foot shorter than me, about three times stronger than me, and 90000000 times stupider than me. She's a horse fanatic, too.
The Shade's Universal Encyclopedia says;
"Horses are smelly, bad-tempered, nasty brutes. If there is one in your vicinity, shoot it."
I'm thinking of getting a new strategy game after I've registered Nova.
I already have Warcraft (which was OK for the time) Starcraft (the plot of which I hate) Alpha Centauri (My favourite! "No longer mere Earth-beings or Planet-beings are we...") Total Anhillation Gold (Which stinks. I can't believe I wasted 50 bucks on that!) and Civ II. I don't have Brood Wars, but I've played it, and hated the plot even worse than the ordainary Starcraft one. I'm thinking of CivIII, AoEII, or Alpha Centauri: Battle Lines.

California? Bah, humbug! Auckland, my nation's largest city, is the capital of bad driving. We had someone drive off the Auckland Harbour Bridge a while ago.
But no, no-one's been around in a tank of yet, as NZ doesn't own any tanks.
We do get people's cars being totalled by cows on the road sometimes, though.

Ok, I need help. Below is a link to a replay of a game I recently played. It was a 1on1, zerg vs. zerg. My friend was always on offense, and spread out on the whole map. He bombarded me constantly with scourges and guardians. I never had any time to go on the offense. After around 2 hours, we got into an argument as to whether he had won and I should surrender, or if it should be a draw.

I never had time to mount a large scale attack because he was constantly attacking me, and I had no hopes of killing him. He did a lot better than me, but he still could never finish me off.

Anyways, I ended up with more points and more kills, so I am still pissed that I had to surrender just to get out of the game. Can you guys watch this (or at least some of it) and tell me where I went wrong? I would like to be able to crush him....

And you haven't seen Atlanta, my friend. 😉 Time and again, it has been ranked as the most dangerous places to drive is the U.S. (New York, Chicago, and LA are not far behind). Eight lane-wide highways being clogged is a mess, drunk drivers pulled over everywhere, and four-way stops backed up for blocks... yuck. Not to mention all the car wrecks...

I've seen police chases and two guys get shot to death (refer to my B&B; topic posted a few weeks ago). Believe me, the southern states are not as quiet as they used to be.

Shade: I have an awesome sister. 😛 She's the only daughter in my family, and probably one of my closest friends (though she is almost 22). Whenever she's home, we spend forever picking on each other, watching our movie favorites, and going out to symphony concerts. We're both huge classical music fans, so it's something we never get tired of. I used to think my sister was annoying, but only because I was never nice to her. Treat your sister the way you would want to be treated, and I can gurantee she'd fall over in shock. 😉

Also, I am horse-crazy myself. I draw horses whenever I can, I ride them whenever I can, and I'm around them whenever I can. My best friend owns a horse, and she (no comment, please :p) probably couldn't live without horses. People often think of me as a "more technical person," but that's not so. I often get very sick of the computer world at times, and want nothing more then to be in the great outdoors. Heck, I still build forts in our gigantic woods when I outgrew that a long time ago. Heh.

Also, Shade, regarding your definition of a horse, humans can be the exact same way. 😛 Animals rock.

Out of curiosity, do any of you guys play "Counterstrike?" It's a PC-only game, but probably the best I've ever played (I'm a Mac person, but I've got to admit that PCs hold the better game platform). It's multiplayer only, and certainly beats other similar games such as "Delta Force III" and "Rainbow 6." If you've got a PC, get Counterstrike. Excellent game.

I don't have any of the Delta Force games, but I've played all the anti-terrorist games in existence. Even the original Delta Force was very impressive, and III has some sweet graphics (though I believe Counterstrike is the best of all in about every aspect).

One thing I like about Counterstrike is that it's multiplayer only, and you can play as terrorist. I prefer playing as terrorist, since you can get access to firearms which counter terrorist forces do not use (Krieg assault rifle, AK-47 etc...). Plenty of levels, and usually (at least) a thousand players online when you play. Finding an open server is not a problem.

Really? So Oregon isn't the only state that has graduated licensing? Cool, nice to see that some other states are sensible about their driving laws. Do you hear a lot of stupid people whining about it over there too?

First, mass attack a bit more. It's impossible to win if you don't attack.

As for how, I would say the indicated unit in this case would be the Ultralisk. All those Scourges are just useless against ground, and a sizeable group (12-24) of Ultralisks could tear through the Hydras, and the base. You'd want some Devourers/Scourges to ward off the Guardians he was building too, of course. Defilers to toss Dark Swarm around wouldn't hurt either.

Also, upgrading more would help a lot. You upgraded a bit at the beginning, then just stopped, while your enemy had full upgrades. That becomes a large disadvantage.

Another thing you could try is simply mass Mutalisks in that case. Mutalisks have some unique capabilities that are often under-realized. The most important is that they are small units, which means that a lot of attacks (including Hydras, Devourers, and almost all Protoss/Terran air units) do only half damage. Because of that, and because of the bouncing attack, Mutalisks in numbers can really shred Hydras. In terms of air opposition, he'd run out of Scourge long before you ran out of Mutas, trust me. Also important in that case, since he did have a lot of scourge etc. would be to continue producing mutalisks as you attack, so that you can send over a stream of reinforcements, or at least have an attack ready to follow it up very quickly.

Once you get into his base with mutas, there is one main thing you should immediately take out - all Spires. That will kill his ability to produce air units to fight you for a minimum of 2 minutes while he has to rebuild his Spire. In the middle of an attack, that can be crippling. The second obvious target would be the Hydra Den, destroying the entire ability to fight back. After that, go for the drones mining before switching to general destruction.Keep pumping mutas throughout, up to the control limit.

Against Protoss air, Ersadt pretty well nailed it. Zerg more than any other race have to rely on special abilities to defeat massive air attacks. Pack Hydras under a dark swarm, and you're untouchable, but can still pump out massive damage. Plague should be used on high hit point items - generally carriers. You might even consume a few Hydras in the middle to throw more swarms/plagues. Defilers are one of the best units in the game to counter an air attack, but not many players realize it.

Skyblade, I have tried being nice to my sister. It doesn't work.
EG:
Me: Hello! How was your day!
Her: (grunts) Fine.
Me: Did Fudge (her horse) behave herself?
Her: (grunts) Yuh.
You see? She is impossible to get through to!
Possibly because she's going through an anti-establishment phase of drinking, smoking, and terrible music such as Linkin Park and Eminem, while I regard drinking and smoking as self-anhillation and about the only music I like is Pink Floyd. Oh, and whalesong. And Suzanne Vega, but I doubt you've heard of her.
And I don't like horses because they're so big, expensive and smelly.
But heah, I like the great outdoors. The scenery is nice, and taking a break from constant ionisation is always good. I like nature.
But yes, animals rock. I have a cat (I used to have 2, but one died of kideny trouble :frown:) which sits on the end of my bet at nights. Unfortunately we're going to have to take him to the vet soon because he's got Cat Flu and keeps sneezing, poor thing.
I also have a 6-month-old dog who is totally insane. I mean insane. It ran under the car several days after we got it, and when we took her to get x-rayed we found out she'd been eating stones.
Once she sat underneath the horse (Fudge) while it was being brushed and chewed on those knobbly "acorn" bits on it's legs. Any other horse would have kicked her brains out.
We've also got a "pet lamb" which never got it's bits removed so it's now 60 kilos of proto-sausage waiting to be shot, and a goat which keeps eating my Mum's planets, so soon it's going to be dog tucker.
But you're right, Atlanta would seem to have worse drivers than Auckland. We've got epidemic gang warfare between the Mongrel Mob and Black Power though.
Hummm, I'm thinking of AoE II. That way I can not only make my own scenarios but play multiplayer when I get a flat rate.

Mac, thanks a ton. I never thought much about mutas because their attack is so weak, but I suppose they would do very well in mass. Also, I will make more defilers and put them all over my base. As for upgrading, I tend to forget. In the heat of warding off constant attacks while trying to rebuild, I often forget to upgrade. I will keep that in mind next time.

I will try this stuff out tomorrow, as tonight I have a huge paper I have to write. :frown:

I agree, the one song I've heard by Linkin Park is extremely family-friendly. Not bad, either, but I probably won't get their album until I hear something else off it (since I can't get on a Napster-clone to listen to the rest... stupid RIAA).

Yeah, I've been playing EV a bit lately on my girlfriend's iBook (I've gotten her addicted to it). She's been using EVGE since defeating the Alien Cruiser (which she wanted me to do it... but she did it all on her own. I'm so proud! ;)), and is currently flying around in a Condor. It's quite fun to take out entire fleets of Confederate ships, only to have a Frigate and Patrol Ship jump in and think they have a chance. 🙂

I have no clue who P.O.D. is, but I did know that Creed was. However, I think they suck (I'm sorry, but every song sounds the same, and it doesn't help that they were extremely overplayed), so it doesn't matter. 🙂
