I can't use this for EV. It wants me to locate all the Override files like Overide data1, data2, sounds, etc but won't let me select the EV files. I don't even have EVO installed.

Pirate/Alien, please. I thought that was a secret... guess not. Anyways, EVO Dev Map works fine, just click "cancel" on all of the data file requests, then open your plugin with the "open" command. Even if your plugin has other data, it will only modify the resources necessary to change the spΓΆbs. Hope that help! And I'm still trying to get my evula.net account to send email...when will EVula help me? :frown:

Most people can read the plot and figure out that there must be another race helping the pirates. It was sort of going to be a secret, but... oh well.
Ok, I sort of want to do the Galactic Alliance ones because it will be much simpler to write for the good guys for me. When the plugin is ready for missions (few days) I will email it to you. We need to get all the spobs put in and the weapons/ships. That may take a while.

Well, you can fool EVO Developer's Map into opening EV data files (you will have to install Override, however). Simply re-name the Override data files as the original EV data files, and drag them into the EVO Developer's Map folder. Just make sure you keep a back-up copy, and that you don't replace the original EV documents...
MacAvenger, how is it coming with the planets? I'm not rushing you, because I have a lot of work to get done before I can make the missions, so take your time.
Okay guys, I need to know: Which is a better name for the plug: Erion or Galactic Alliance? GA, or Galactic Alliance, sounds kind of unoriginal. I'm leaning towards Erion, but I want to know what you all think.
Oh, and Skyblade, I'm going to need more graphics that I previously thought. I'll need quite a few new outfits, and all of the ships modified. It will probably be a lot of work, so we can get a second person to do graphics as well so that you don't have so much to do. Is that ok? Or do you want to try to do it all on your own?

When you say you need "the ships modified," could you be more specific? As far as the ship sprites and such are concerned? If so, that's fine with me, since I've already been planning on re-designing the Confederation graphics with my next Saber Studios project...
The things that I NEED done are as follows:

Those are all the ships that I need. I am not done with the outfits, but I will have quite a few. I may even do a few of those in photoshop, but above are all the ships I know I will need. I may, later on, ask you to modify some other standard EV ships, or ask Meowx if I can use some of his lovely EV:Magma graphics.
As for colors of ships, you can do whatever you feel like. I havn't decided what I want the government colors to be, so just make all of the ships of G.A. and the aliens the same color. The pirates can be a sort of calouge (sp?) of alien and human technology and design.

By the way, are the Galactic Alliance vessels suppost to resemble the original Confederation designs?
I was wondering about that, also. Well, this is after the Rebels captured the galaxy and became the alliance, but I suppose that would salvage the old Confed ships, too. Go ahead and make some of them look like the confed ships, but a bit more powerful and pointy, like the Rebel ships. Make them as high-tech looking as possible. I know how stupid that sounds, but this is supposed to be far more advanced than anything human kind has invented before.
You're the artist, so you decide what looks best. Since these are improvements from the old human ships, it would be cool to have some that look confed and some that look Rebel in origin.
Ok, I think we should make the G.A. ships red. Primarily, I was people to realize that the Rebels conquered the galaxy, and the confederation is dead. Blue would confuse people.
I'm going to have a lot of little requests, and it would just waste space and time to try to list them all on the board as they come. When I am done making all ships and outfits I will compile a list of everything that I will need. If you want to begin now, just work on the list of ships that I gave you. When can you begin work, anyways? I'm just curious. I don't need the graphics for a loooonngg time as of now, but when will your g3 be back up and running?

Alright then. I prefer the Rebel ship designs, so I would have no problem using some vessels like the Destroyer or Cruiser. Thanks for the info.

About my G3, it's still currently "sick." My dad is working on someone else's computer at the moment, so he hasn't quite had the time to get to it. But don't worry, it should be working within two weeks at most...
Alright, cool. Simply updating current Rebel graphics is all I need. They just need to look technologically improved. I could just use one of Mathew Dailey's beautiful, free alien ship graphic sets to save you time, because I'm going to need a lot of outfit graphics, too.

Don't worry about it, I can do all the graphics, so long as you give me time (which seems as though you are). I enjoy big projects, it's just the time limits that often drive me up the wall...
Besides, I haven't re-modelled any EV ships in quite awhile, so it would do me some good.

Well, time is no problem here. We just need to get the plug out while EV is still fairly popular, which will give us... a long time.
I havn't promised anything to anyone, so we can have this out whenever we feel like. I still have a lot to do, and not a lot of free time in which to do it, so I will be the one holding up the group when the time comes for release.

Heheh. I remember EV took a huge hit in popularit around the time EVO was released. It probably won't with nova, though, because most people still on this board are very loyal.
