i noticed that the post about the bugs is from last year ... is the problem resolved yet? i have a sampler disc from ambrosia and PoG works fine for me... can i still get it registered?
Can't currently register your software.
A new beta period has begun for an updated version of CGE. The current objective/directive of the list is technical; bug fixes, mistakes, typos, instabilities.
Beta members get to "toughenUp" CGE before public/commercial releases.
New version compatible with Panther, optimistically prospected for midYear 2004.

Reply: Maybe yours works fine because you don't have Panther? I just sold my iMac for a G4 and now it doesn't work for me.

Stewee, asking a question of someone who popped in a couple of months ago is not likely to reach the eyes you aimed for. However, more to the point - - -
Have you tried opening Coldstone using classic mode on your new machine? That is about the only way it will work for you at present. The software, and any games created with it, do not function in Panther. This has been noted many times here, on the "Help on the Way" forum, and elsewhere on Ambrosia's boards.

I have Panther, and Coldstone usually runs fine. If it doesn't, I boot it up in classic.

I am fed up of constantly having to tell people this
Coldstone will work FINE in Panther.
GAMES made in coldstone will NOT work in Panther.
As soon as Carm feels she is ready to release an update (which she told me she would LIKE to do soon, notice the LIKE, there are no guarantee's) she will probably send it to the beta testers. Then, after she has got the bugs in the beta fixed she will probably release the update (unless she is evil and keeps it from us ). Then (at least) CS will probably go back on sale. I'm guessing that PoG will come back after as she needs to concentrate on that later. Then again she may release on update with a Panther fix and a seperate one with bug fixes as the Panther fix should only require a recompile.

Except that for some people who are running Panther, it does not run fine. Perhaps if you're fed up, then you might consider no longer posting about this.

So, What if you want to purchase PoG or Coldstone but haven't any of the affected OSs? Will Ambrosia still allow you to purchase it?

No. It isn't on sale until the Panther compilation bug is fixed.
EDIT: As far as what Ambrosia said...

I acually wasn't talking about Coldstone but Pillars of Garendell (which I already bought before jaguar). But if I can get Coldstone to work, then what if I just rebuilt PoG on Coldstone? email: stewee_07@yahoo.com

The flaws in CGE on X affect games compiled with Coldstone as well as the engine itself. As such, recompiling PoG wouldn't really do you any good. Also, in a more realistic sense, you can't do that anyway, as you'd require all of the source of the game to recompile/edit/whatever. And I highly doubt you'd ever manage to get hold of the source for PoG, or, for that matter, any commercial game released on the market (apart from a few open sourced games). It's just not done.

What if you purchased it before it was removed from the market? I recently had to reinstall it but the registration application claimed my code was invalid and when I requested my codes from ambrosia PoG was listed but where the code shold have been it just said invalid. Am I not allowed to use a program I already paid for?
Was that while you were using the registration app. If it was then i suggest you e-mail Ambrosia and tell them about it.

I sent an email which hasn't been answered yet but I was wondering if the fact that I origionally registered it on a mac and I'm trying to get to work on my PC might have something to do with it.

Unfortunately, Coldstone does not work on a PC. It is a Mac only application even though it will write games which can be played on a PC. Switching computers is not a problem as long as they are both Macs.
Actually I was talking about Pillars of Garendall which works fine on my PC except for some reason my code is showing as invalid.

You are on the Coldstone forum, in a thread about Coldstone bugs - - I hope you can understand my confusion. Send an email to lostcodes@ambrosiasw.com as outlined by GrahamVH above, lostcodes also means out-of-date codes.
So, uh, is the engine ever going to get fixed?
I expect so.
