I was going to email everyone, but I figured that this would be easier for people to see: I am developing a couple of projects at once, and one that I wish to get people's permission to do first. It has been purposed quite a few times, but I have a feeling that I can make it work. I wish to use some to most of the screen names used on these forums as characters in a game. I am not doing it as a 'Parody of the Personas' as aforementioned in a previous Topic some time ago. I wanted to hint something to TA when he said that it was a pity that this was not to happen. I just bursted out laughing when I saw this, knowing that I was producing a nearly similar thing. Actually, if you don't want your boardname in here, let me know. Feedback would be good as well.

Actually, a rough sketch (link) would be appriciated. I have a story coming along, but little or no art begun. Honestly, I thought using the Future Folder of images would present a more 'homey' feel, because of the fact that that was the first group of images used to create games, along with the POG stuff, in which everyone and their mother has used to create a game. Actually OgreBob, you are part of my group, but probably most of the game will revolve around the Zerowarrior and KatX, but will include most of the 'cast' of these boards . I've found some good names, but if someone has a list of all members (on one file!), I would be most honored. I started printing from the members list and after page 14 of useless names, I stopped.

What can i say, its not like i didn't want the project to succeed, my only problem was that i wanted others to participate by submitting art and character sketches, in the end i only got 3 submissions.
I had planned for an oddyseus type of quest, you travel to each locale and make your way towards each entities stronghold.
Just basic freeRoaming hack and slash fun, you could pick your character from a listing, who knows i might do my version yet. A plotless adventure/action/power struggle for total board domination, mu hu har.
As i recall i was only going to use longStanding board members, ie people who are around year after year and have exhibited some distinct personality traits.
Yes, this was technically my community project gone awry :p.
Good luck to you, and i believe your approach, "you're in it unless you say otherwise" is a far more successful strategy.

This is why I am doing this with my own group, with my methods. I would like to show people a successful game and feel connected to its essence.

Actually, I do not want to discuss the specifics of the game, merly due to the fact that I want it to be a brand new experience, not something you've heard about and already know the storyline halfway before you've already played the game. Companies do this all the time, and it justs ruins the fun of the game quicker. But I will reveal your role Debra. You are the heart of a living Computer Control System, D.E.B.R.A. And also, I've decided to keep the cartoon joke about RD (the way he looked in the cartoon) pretty much intact, but changed the color scheme of things, to enhance a slightly darker, more 'DuckWing Duck', if you will, appearance..

Yes this looks like it is capturing everyone's interests. I'd definately play it just to see how each character is portrayed.

I know that I haven't really been a big member of these boards, but you can use my name if you want. Make me into whatever you care. If at all possible, I would like my character to have an Ares-style helmet. If you can't do that, then that's fine.

The beauty of it is, some of the dialog in the game makes fun of your name by saying it wrong quite a few times. Well, I figured it was funny.
