Yes, as long as the game makers really can't vote. It would be a "people's choice." ZW's idea would work, also, but only if people are willing. I would not be a judge. 'Tis wisdom.

Well. It is a given that this showcase will run just as it says on the site. This is for one reason. Ell is as stubborn as a mule If we have another showcase then I think this would be good. Though hopefully if we can get the showcase enough publicity then it shouldn't matter if we (the game makers) vote or not. Either way, i won't be entering in the next showcase (if there is one). I'm just starting Earth Warrior and I am hoping to have Space out Early 2005

Ell', or Elliott derived from the name Eli, which in Hebrew equates to "ram" and "force", also connected to the name Elijah which means, "The lord is God."
end random information.
RD, I've made provisions per your concern.
Seems as though this has turned into a discussion of judging methods.
Debra, i understand that you're offer was contingent on this( no entrants/judges/ participants voting ). Just the notion of the gesture makes me happy/content.
Again, it's set in stone, almost all of it is set up and waiting to be released. Any ideas/suggestions; made in earnest, whimsy, or out of sheer unrelated dicussion of good judging methods for game making "contests" are exactly that....ideas/suggestions.
How does that go, if you want something done right...
As long as we're posing ideas:
Here's to Ambrosia picking up the idea of a cge related game making showcase/competition or at least a MWCGE website, and backing it yearly It'd be nice to have something official and specific.
See you on the 28th, i happen to have that day off.

Now, on topic. I'm assuming that the voting system would be based upon a form of some kind? Like, click your favourite game from the list, see results? Perhaps it would be better to have a forum run system - here, the CRC, whatever, where you post your choice for the winner of the games. I'd suggest here for a simple reason - only registered users could vote, if so required, and Stark, Deb, RD & I can enforce no double-voting etc. via ip check.
Up to you organisers, of course. We'll see how it turns out.

Andiyar, perhaps because of your location you missed the inside political joke about Florida -> recounts. Something about there being a Bush in the White House only because there's a Bush in the Fla Governor's Mansion and the vote tally was suspect.
Back on topic - This is ellrx's baby and he is free to conduct this any way he so chooses. No matter what the outcome of the contest, I'm sure that this has been a worthwhile endeavor for the Coldstone community. We are all free to decide which game we like best and, in our own minds, do not have to agree with the end results. After all, we don't all like the same things.
I give sincere appreciation to all entrants for contribution to the Coldstone community. You all deserve to win just for the effort.

Aye.

Aye, if you'll look at this chart here :: pantamime :: You'll see that the number of games made with CGE is up over 400-500% versus past years.
I also believe that there will be many residual spikes of game production, GET BACK TO WORK!

It looks like 2004 will be a great year for CS. First of all you have the Update. Then all the game that will be released. There are the showcase games (which have already made this one of the most successful years for CS. Three games released in under a month). Then you have all the other games coming out. My second game Earth Warrior should be out by Summer. Legends should be out this year, as should Dark Tides: Renegade Hero's. Plus Debra has said her game may be out this year.
Yes. This will be a very good year indeed
