I wanted to let you all know that i have not gotten any info on the expected date the win98/ME movie and sound problem is going to be solved. I guess it is hard to give an exact deadline because they are dealing with a third party here to solve the problem (reealbasic), but still...
I would like to know how many of you are actually worried about it,
In my opinion this is a big deal: the app is not really crossplatform. because of this. (And I still have not tried XP)

not a big deal to me because the more i think about it the more i want to make my game mac only. and also i dont think id be using quicktime movies anyway but i might in the end. no clue. hope it gets solved for you.

JG, we haven't really heard any info on any fixes. Your problem is one in a LONG list of things needing to be fixed. It will be fixed when it's fixed. I'm sure Beenox is trying as hard as they can to fix ALL the bugs, including your's. Ve patient, the rest of us have.

This worries me a little bit. We use a lot of QT movies, so if QT isn't working in Windows, then we don't release for Windows. I don't know how big the shareware RPG market is on the Windows side, but I would hate to exclude a platform of gamers over a bug that I have no control over.
Jeroen did you actually get someone to answer an inquiry over this? I'm jealous.

maybe in a few years when your company grows or something it may pick up some windows hits but generally rpg's and scifi romps are ruled by bigger companies. shareware is decent on the pc market but not really for rpg' and scifi. its more for quick games and and work break games, maybe a game like ell's in the direction of cards would do much better on the other side as well as the macs.
and thats if you have the same bug or set problems which really cant be determined until you test on a peecee.
take a look at the ambrosia of the pc side. a bit different. (url="http://"http://www.popcap.com/winmain.php")http://www.popcap.com/winmain.php(/url)

This worrries me a lot since the crossplatform capabilities were one of the main reasons I paid for it. Right now I am working on a speed course Director. I was not interested in the RPG capabilities, but more in having a walking figure that could discover all kinds of stuff and have conversations with people.
I got two mails, both from David Dunham. Here is number one:
We are working with the folks at RealBasic now with regards to Coldstone. I can let you know as soon as we have any news if you like.
For what it's worth - your windows machine does have the latest version of Direct X installed?

I reported earlier that moview where not played on WinME/Win98 machines. I just discovered that music is not played, either. ut everything works fine on Mac and Win 2000. I did not test XP. I really would like an answer on this. A new version of Real Basic was released earlier this year. Would recompiling be the answer?

Thanks for the lowdown.
I'm afraid I don't have a timetable on the update other than it is being worked on now.
