What do you guys use for making characters and items and stuff? Do you use Poser?

but uhmm, seriously, lots of people are using poser'ish type stuff to make stuff, and you can even buy 3d models here and there. if you cant go the 3d route because of expense-knowledge etc then you can try maybe the final fantasy route if it fits your game with very small 2d characters then have side shots with more detail when they get sucked into combat or you can go overhead and only have to draw people top down. basically if you cant do it one way or dont have the time money etc then you can explore other ways and kinda reconfigure/build your game that way. stuff like items and what not can be made in photoshop pretty easily as character portraits etc.
heres some sample links to schtuff ive made game wise that might help you if you have the apps. so far from what ive seen, characters and thier animations are the hardest thing to get a hold of or a wide variety of especially if you dont want to use coldstones graphics. I use appleworks. I don't need a high end (read Expensive) graphics ability. Most of my stuff is brought in via camera, loaded into appleworks and converted to .tiff. ( I resize and edit what I need then save it) I use graphic convertor to change the type to what works with coldstone(.png and .pct) and remove the white space. It saves lots of money and the results have been great so far. (but that's my opinion, and as my wife reminds me often "you can only have an opinion when I say so!" he he he hmmm)

I use dampeoples. Sometimes he's a poser, but normally he does pretty good work.
