So I got myself a nice little animation set up, named the files liek this NPC_heroNorth0001.png, and so on. I have them all in a single folder, called NPC_hero in my Pictures folder within my game folder. All that seems fine. My problem is this, when I try to put them into the animation editor, either by drag and drop through the finder, or by manually adding them via the Coldstone file browser, and afer they show up fine in the sequencer, I get an error message that they cannot be found when I click on them,. The eror message gives the exact path back to the pictures, which are still in the folder, but says they cannot be found. You guys have any suggestions?

I'm not sure if I can be of help, but I'll try anyway..
Coldstone will not load images into the Animation Editor unless they are located in your pictures folder of your game folder.
I have never worked with .png format before, so there could be a limitation with that file format. Try a 24-bit .pct file and see if that will load, if it does, then the problem lies with in the .png format.
If .png file formats are the problem, try leaving the .png file options at their default or work in .pct format and convert to .png after you have finished all of your graphics.
What software are you using? This could be a factor. The 3D Animation package I use for animation is Lightwave 3D :DE, Maya PLE and Photoshop Elements for graphic creation.
I hope I was of some help.

I hate smilies!
It should read, "Lightwave 3D:DE" or "Lightwave 3D:Discovery Edition".

Hi, Thanks for looking, yeah, the pictures are all in the pictures flder within the game folder, we looke dover that already on #Coldstone. I'll try the .pct files, but went with .png because it's one of the recommended files on the last page of the manual, I figured I was safe, but it could be that they need to be 24 bit, that's a good idea. These particaular files were generated in Poser, then brought into Photoshop Elements for batch renaming. I'll let you know how the .pct goes. Thanks, Sterling
Try adding the files once at time via the editor (the "add" button) i seem to remeber having this trouble in a early version of my game.
also make sure you have the .cam file save befoe attempimhg to play the animation in the editor. i have received a unexpected quit (nil class exepection) when trying to play some files

Strange stuff. I moved my game folder from two directories down in my home>pictures folder to the desktop and all is working. I would say that Coldstone can't handle long paths, but I've spoken to others who have theirs deep in a directory as well, and on a different drive, so I dunno. Let's call it an OS X bug

Glad to hear you got it working; had me stumped.
I'd recommend reporting it. No clue if it will do anything, but I'd rather take the chance.

I've never managed to get .png files to work. They look right when I build my maps, but after being launched to try it out, they don't. I now only use .pct files. They do seem to work.

As tiles, as objects, or both? With or without alpha masks? If objects with alpha masks, have you tried using the PNG images that come with Coldstone?
Thanks for any clarification; I've never had much trouble with PNGs, but I'm also not using Coldstone nearly as intensively these days as you and others are.
