Cgoran,
How about giving it a rest. You've registered your complaints against CGE. We know you don't like it. We know you have a problem with it. The developers are aware of the bugs and have indicated that they are working on fixing them.
So either A) mellow out and wait for a solution like the rest of the CGE community or take a hike.
We all like a good discussion but frankly you've exhausted yours and reverted to a monotonous litany against CGE and its testers. If you can not stand CGE and no longer wish to use it then take a hike. You won't be missed. If you wish to contribute to a meaningful discussion then you are more than welcome to.
But get off the crap.

Wow.
That hurts. Why do you think that I bother posting at all? I want one thing and one thing only at this point. That is to get a working product. I'm not sorry that this irritates any of you in the least.
I'm not sure that it qualifies the rude response from you and others however. I think we would all (including yourself) benefit from an update.
In fact I think every one that has taken issue with my complaining so far is a "beta tester".
I'm sorry I won't be missed by you. But whatever?
I believe that we will all ultimately benefit from discussion and disagreement. I personally look forward to hearing what you have to say.
I'm attempting to create a professional product. I've supplied screen shots. I've got something to loose if Coldstone is not fixed. Where is your game?
I've haven't seen any posting or game that is where mine is at. I would like to. I really would.
I'm sorry if this is a "downer" for you.
Where is your game? What do you stand to lose?
Your rudeness is unwarranted.

I posted early in this thread that i did build releases of game while on the beta team and didnt encounter this bug. The beta did generate bug reports and alot of good work was done but the products gotta be released sometime and it wasnt the choice of the testers as to when that was strictly a publisher developer level dicission. im still on the mailing list as are 80 or so other souls and we continue to generate bug lists and question the developer as to when we can expect the next fix.
by the way what did you think our job was?

I'm sure great work was done. It was never my intention to impugn the good work done by anyone, but I cannot comprehend why there would be such frustration directed at me for simply bringing to light a huge bug. Don't kill the messenger.
I never expected such a backlash. I enjoy these boards and the "kind" people here.
I believe if Coldstone is fixed great things could come of it. That's why I'm not abandoning it.
Thanks to you friend.

To complain. That is the only thing apparant at this point.
I want one thing and one thing only at this point. That is to get a working product.
Yes, and you've said that. Complaining does nothing.
The developers are aware of the problem. You can do nothing else at this point, so if complaining is all you wish to do(which is the only thing you seem to be doing) then you are impotent if your wish is to speed things along.
I do not mind a complaint about a subject. But when a complain turns to incessant whining that borders on a broken record, yes, it does become irritating. And my response was not rude; it was very blunt. I asked you to knock off your crap, which is all you've been spewing for the past week or so. I then mentioned a couple options you had, mainly waiting for an update or, if you aren't interested in CGE anymore, to leave.
You still have these options. But you have already pointed out the bug and the developers have commented that they are aware of it. At this point it is futile to piss and moan about it. Knock it off.
Do you mean the "only one" that has taken issue with your complaining? If so then you are very mistaken.
Very few people ever miss complainers.
I agree which is what I said.
Unfortunately we have not had any discussion from you only "CGE SUCKS!"
I'm attempting to create a professional product. I've supplied screen shots. I've got something to loose if Coldstone is not fixed.
Great. But again, your whining and trash talking the product does nothing to speed up an update. I would even go so far as to say that it possibly hinders an update. After all, who wants to put free time and effort(since an update is not chargeable) for a bunch of whiners?
Where is your game?
here, here, and here are a few of my CGE creations.
But really, the more relavant question is, "Where is my whining?"
You haven't looked really hard then. There is at least 1 game that has been released, and one that is decently far in development, with screen shots(oooh, ahhh).
Downer? No. Annoyance? Yeah. Again, discussion = good. Whining/moaning = stupid.
Umm, you already asked this.
The whole point is that your whining is unnecessary and unwanted.
Look Cgoran, I understand that you are frustrated. I've pointed out, as others have to, that the developers are aware of the problems. And they are fixing them. That's really all any of us can do.
If you are looking at bad-mouthing CGE, and it really appears from your posting that this is all you want to do now, then go make a "Beenox_is_bad.org" website. Or go spam mac.com or some place. But leave the company web space alone.
If you have something constructive, then by all means contribute. I'm not telling you to go away, nor am I saying I don't want you around here. I'm saying if you don't want to contribute then you would be better leaving. If all you want to do is complain then I'd rather you do it elsewhere.
The final word is up to the mods, and Tarn & co. is well able to determine where the line needs to be drawn. But if you look at other threads of yours that have been locked due to your continual complaints, I think you will see a pattern emerging and would be wise to learn from it.
Thats all I'm saying man.

We aren't Cgoran.
We are trying to kill the follow up complaints and whining that continues to go on after you delivered the message.
You found a bug and reported it. I applaud you and agreed that this was a bug that needed fixing. You continued to harp on it and the developers said yes, they knew about the bug, and were working on a fix.
But then you continue to complain about this bug. This is useless at this point. Your complaining will do nothing now that the bug has been found.
Just relax and wait until a fix is released. If that means your entire game gets put on hold, well, I guess it gets put on hold. But jumping up and down screaming about it will do nothing for you.
Yes it is a bad bug. Yes you are frustrated. Yes I agree you have the right to be frustrated, angry, whatever else you feel. But you also have the choice to exert self-control, and I ask that you do so.
Ya I've seen your site. Do you have a game?
I can see your points and I will take your advice.
But if you don't like what I have to say, why not just leave it alone. What is worse, whining or whining about whining?
Cheers friend!

Whining about whining would be saying something like, "Dude, your posts suck!"
Instead I pointed out the problem and gave you a few alternatives to get you back on the reservation.
Then you responded, in a discussionary fashion, to which I responded to.
All in all it was a nice argument, though I really must ask, did you pay for a 5 minute argument or the full hour?
All kidding aside I don't mind discussions at all. I really don't have a problem with you and have enjoyed a lot of your posts from months past. It is just the recent ones that have been getting to me. I was hoping that a quick blunt post would shock you enough back to get you back into a discussionary mode('cause, yeah, I rarely post like this, heh. I wonder if someone ought to call Tarn and see if he's having heart complications... ).
Thanks man.
Um, I guess that I don't really see that Cgoran is actually whining. And I haven't seen any kind of spamming from him. Others, yes. Him, no.
At least I don't see him saying much of anything different than I did when I started this topic. And continued to rant for a couple of days. It seems to me that Cgoran's problems are worse.
Cgoran, I hope you hang in here! It seems to me that we need to chill out, myself most definately included.
Perhaps one thing I may have figured out because of my trial and error is that Coldstone like maps to be precise. To not go past one ground size all around it. So if you have a 2000 x 2000 size graphic for a map, make your ground squares 100 instead of 96. And have the map dimensions be 200 x 200. But place the map not as ground, but as the first layer. I don't know if this is any help. But -- who knows?
I'm now thinking in terms of making Coldstone happy.
As for all you beta testers, thanks! You're in the front lines which means you're gonna be shot first! (That was a joke, guys.)

OK, here I was all seriously reading and I read this. Oh my, I lost it big time.

If I had read the board before checking my email, it's definitely possible. But at least I was prepared.
I'm sorry guys, but I'm going to have to lock this... Sniberal's antics, and the antagonistic posts by people on both sides of the fence have caused it to cross the line. Please, feel free to continue the discussion in a new thread, but try to stay on topic without being necessarily harsh.
Besides, I wanted to test out this funky new picture I took!
