Or, if you twist the meaning of the name, we could play jeapordy where Slug gives us an answer and we "ask" him the question to win.

OK Slug, here's a curly question for you.
Say I want to create an object which, upon creation, will be immediately lured to a station, which will fire on anything except that object. Of course, everything else will open fire on that object as normal.
Your take?

Slug, Is it possible to scale an object so it fills the whole map?

You mean like an engineering pod? Yes. ASSUME INITIAL OBJECT (station object #) CREATE OBJECT INHERIT DESTINATION
1 ENGINEERING POD RANGE = 0

Not realistically, seeing as the whole map is gigantic and the object would be excruciatingly pixelated (pixels the size of gateships). It would be better to make several smaller objects next to each other as parts, sections of it. It would be possible, but you'd need a ton of memeory and a G4 processor if you want anything more than 1 fps.
Don't go with 1 object, go with several smaller objects.

What if, instead, we made an object with normal pixels but the same size as above. It would take a long time, and lots of detail, but could it be done?
For example, and I'm only using this for an example, if you made a plug-in about the ring; the ring is huge. If you decided to put a large chunk of the ring in (as background) could it be done with tiny pixels, a bunch of people, and lots of time?
Good lord. I don't think Hera can handle numbers that big. It would need vast amounts of memory.

Slug- I meant a new object, and a new station- hell, creating engineering pods is easy enough, hardly worthy of "Ask Slug".
AND- to make it trickier- it can't use the same flags as the engineering pod.
Buagh!
Hey everyone! Got all the bugs sorted, 1.2.0.b6 is working on GR and all is swell. Thanks Slug.
Mods coming along well, 3 levels, A new intro, new sprites, going very smoothly. In case you didnt know, this mod is a actually a joint project, I'm working with ECA Viper on it, hes giving me all of the new sprites since I cant make em and i'm doing the rest. I have made a preview of the mod, but Slug wont allow it on the site, so if u email me at (url="http://"mailto:the.dillons@btinternet.com")mailto:the.dillons@btinternet.com(/url)the.dillons@btinternet.com
Sorry Zell, you know my policy on plugins
I should mention on the luring thing... What you probably want to do is give the ship to be lured no engage key flags and "only engages" (it's not perfect, but it's close) and just assume initial and setTarget.

How do I make asteroid shooters already have plenty of asteroids in existance when the level starts?

They aren't, but a similar effect can be achieved with counters and alter condition Yets.

It's not the object that does that. Just put the asteroid shooters in the level and increase the start time on the level. You know where you put misc info for the level such as par, etc, there's a field called start time. Give it a good healthy number such as 240.
