Ooh, I've downloaded Sketchup and will try it out soon.

Hi, all. I'm working on a TC*. Ideally I'd like to make my own ship and outfit graphics in a 3D program.
I've done a little bit of 3D work many years ago, using Strata 3D to make ships for an Ares plug-in. Strata 3D is no longer available, so I'm looking for a cheap or free modern program to use.
I know of Blender, but am wondering if anyone who has more experience in this area has any other recommendations?
Alternately, if any 3D graphics guru is interested in joining the project, that'd be awesome too!
*I can't promise that I'll finish the TC, but I've been making some great progress so far and am very much hoping to release at least a mini-version.
Well, this is embarrassing.
I just messed around with it some more, and it appears that my machine was still launching the older version of Mission Computer by default, rather than 4.2.2. In order to successfully change the file association I had to actually put the older one in the trash.
In any case, I just tried loading a couple of masks before their sprites in 4.2.2, and it worked fine.
I hope you didn't spend too much time going down that rabbit-hole!

Nice to see you still at it!
I'm slowly working on this TC idea. No idea when/if it'll be done. But I'm going to try out this build of Mission Computer.
Sound-importing would def be appreciated! It's been ages since I was using MakeSnd and one of my projects atm is to get that going again.
Thanks - I'd be happy to grab those from you. In particular I'm curious about the EVO ship variants, and seeing what direction someone else took them in as opposed to what I did in EVO: Expanded. Perhaps there are some good innovations that could be included in a later release!
Also, I feel like the community would benefit from having a pinned thread specifically as a listing of post-Addons-page-break plug-ins, with download links listed for each plug-in, and that it would be good to include both of those plug-ins in that thread. Does that make sense? Would the community be interested in that, as a plug-in-finding resource? (And how does one create a pinned thread?)
Well they still work for downloading (most of the) plug-ins that were uploaded before the staff dwindled, you just can't upload new ones anymore.
That's good at least. But for example, if I wanted to see what plug-ins have been released since then, I'd have to just dig through the forums until I reach the time period when the addons page stopped working?
(And for that matter, have there been any plug-ins released in that time?)
