A Halo TC may be in the works

So, Shlimazel, where is this system? Is it going with the front line colony idea, the nearly revolting colony in the back end of space idea, or something else? But sounds good. Neat way to teach people about piloting.

Starsword, there were 150 possible cantidates for the Spartan II project, but due to budget problems, only 75 were taken. 33 survived the augmentation project and were not disabled. There were about 15 I think that were disabled but survived. They got shunted to other areas of the military as directors and commanders.

Sorry I didn't get back to you earlier, it's the nearly revolting colony one. Then you'll see what happens next... :cyptic grin:

Get back to me earlier? You posted half an hour later! And the pics are getting better. Keep up the good work.

Though there is apparently some speculation that Sergent Avery J Johnson (Johnson?) is a Spartan I.

He might have been, but likely he was just an experienced soldier with enough luck to get him through some otherwise impossible situations.

Except that Spartans can die, and Sgt. Johnson can't. You just can't kill a good man.

Spoiler

Sgt. Johnson did die in

Halo 3.

Spoiler

He survived the flood only because of some crazy magic involved with plasma grenades.

I think GSN was being sarcastic, and referencing ONI's policy of marking dead Spartans down as MIA rather than dead.

They never fall in battle. They are spent to achieve objectives.

Their bodies were crippled, but their natural and enhanced cognitive abilities were well-intact. They remained valuable military assets.

Mrxak, that's what I meant about the disabled spartans.

Actually, I think the whole Borens Syndrome mess was a cover-up for him actually being a Spartan I (which would largely explain his immunity). Seriously, the man has more references to Project ORION (the Spartan I program), than the constellation of the same name.

Um, yeah, because there isn't a planet called Sparta or something like that in Orion.

Here's more of what I'm planning. Warning, MAJOR SPOILERS FOR THE TC STORY!!!

Spoiler

After a certain mission a 'cutscene' mission will occur. The planet has come under attack by a massive Covenant fleet. A movie showing you and your comrades defend against a covenant fleet plays, before you are destroyed and your lifeboat launches. The mission will transport you to the planet Outlook in the _________ system, where your lifeboat and several others have revealed to have been recovered by the UNSC Dawn Greeter, a frigate under the command of Captain Joseph Hansler. You and your 4 surviving comrades will be debriefed by Commander Kay Alderson, your new commanding officer. He will explain that you are aboard New Orleans Station, located in orbit around Outlook, a forward military base. You have been reassigned to the Outlook Task Force. Due to the impressive skill you demonstrated during the battle at Glory, you have received a promotion to Squadron Commander, as has Andrew Michaelson, and a squadron has been assigned to you.

At this stage, missions will become hard. Although you command a squadron of 6 other Longswords, the Covenant ships are much tougher than yours. Mostly you will be making raids on convoys and such. Occasionally you will fight a fleet engagement.
Start missions will include;

Attacking Covenant convoys.

Attacking Covenant bases.

Defending against Covenant raiding ships.

Inserting SpecOps ground troops.

Here is a link to some new pics of the Laden class freighter.

Gahh, Halopedia is down. How frustrating.

Well, looks pretty good. You've got the general shape. Now, is it really going to be unarmed, with no sensors or portholes?

No sensors? Where'd I say that? That's what the prongs on the front are. And it probably will be unarmed. After all, it isn't like a freighter will be flying through space unescorted.

Sorry about this, but those look like extremely undetailed pulse-phase cannon thingies. What I meant was it needs a bit more detail.

Yeah, it does need some more detail. I'll work on that some too, don't worry.

So my math was off. Whatcha gonna do 'bout it?

Here's a screenshot of the planet Glory.

Shoot you, as soon as I figure out how to send bullets through the phone cables. Someone, I think it was Shlimazel, threatened to do that to me, but then I told him I had cable, so we didn't use the phone line.

Spoiler

And the four comrades that survived should be the other four people in your squadron, along with some newbie that flames out every mission and has to get replaced. More tension, that way.

Actually, I'd figured on

Spoiler

having those people get distributed around. You won't have any of them in your squadron. The people who are in your squadron do need to be replaced when they get killed, and I have a good way to handle this. I think you'll like the way it works out.

Nice Longsword.

Thanks. What do you think of the planet?
