THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR MULTIPLAYER
The only multiplayer I really want is the ability to just fight other players. I could care less about the rest of the game being multiplayer.View Post
Tell you what, how about once a year a bunch of Nova fans dressed in cardboard or plastic costumes modeled after our favorite EVN ships and we have a huge rumble. A huge fight with a bunch of Nova addicts, that's about as close as we will ever get to a multipayer EV.
"Starbridge punches Thunderforge in the kidney as Polaris Raven sits on Pirate Valkyrie's face and Shuttle gets verbally abused by Carge Drone."
I'm game.

Boo-yeah! Dibs on the shuttle!
P.S. I think this is the closest we're going to get to 3D+Multiplayer: Vendetta Online

Nicky boy, this'll be a real mess when you get the TC enthusiasts involved. Or if you had more than one fan in each costume for a real sense of scale.

I call Raven
I'll get in a box with any available female whom wishes to impersonate an Auroran carrier.

I know my quote is accurate...

You do know it was indeed not a request, but a simple comment? The evil disadvantages of text based communication...
Anyways, in the brawl, can I bring my EVN Azdara plug so I can be an Azdara and uncatchable?
It would be cool to have a built-in sophisticated ship, weapon, and planet designing program, capable of doing EVN graphics and creating new weapons and such.

And suddenly the price of EV4 shoots up to that of Lightwave + $30.
The three things I want are:
1. XML Files, would make making editors so much easier. I had a nice little map editor that I was working, on, but I can't figure out how to do resource forks at all 2. No Resource Limits 3. Scripting Language.
/me goes back to lurking
(singing voice)I'll try to kill you with a forklift(/singing voice)
I just want little things.
Banking your money.
A way to store ships with their purchased outfits.
Knockback for planetary explosions.
Engine sounds.
Better branching options and some scripting for missions (I'd love an IF x THEN y ELSE z option in missions).

That's EV4 right there!
I want weapons to be seperate, so you have different slots for each type not just turrets and cannons. This way I would actually use missile weapons. Have weapon racks/turrets/cannons seperate from mass.

I do that nightly at work; hardly appropriate for EV4.
well, actually i was going to do it at the multiplayer party, but sure.
I wish EV4 has a better AI. Specifically, I'd like to see combined-arms fleet tactics, squadrons of ships that actually stay in formation, and a host of behaviors for individual ships. Here's how I think it would be done. Make fleet (or dude) resources able to reference ships or other fleets. Think nested fleets, where different fleets are given certain preferences by the plug designers. Three fighter squadrons, one ECM detachment, a flagship or two, then any supporting medium-class ships, all with different behaviors in response to different events. People act differently in different situations, and artificial space captains should too.
Hmmm, interesting idea
I'd also like a choice of species at the beginning of the game, so that you start in a different area of the map and have a different starting ship. And perhaps a built-in tutorial sort of thing for newcomers. Obviously it would not work as a plug-in unless you are registered, so perhaps an option on the main menu for the tutorial, which would give you a one-system galaxy with steps towards becoming a pro. Also an actual pause menu, like what most games have.
I'd just like to see someone do a decent implementation of the chΓ€r resource for once.
I second dropping the resource fork and the 2D game/3D engine. I'd like to see the 3D engine implemented with a moveable camera, controlled by the numeric keypad. The "zoom" would move the camera on a curved path, so from far off it points straight downward but up close it flattens to more of a level view (like in Railroad Tycoon 3) so you see more then the blurred close-up of the top of your ship.
