I've been working on a TC since I posted a topic last like this (twenty pages back and many months ago). Thank goodness, my work is finally coming towards fruition, and I daresay that very soon the EVN community will be enjoying the harvests of my labor, if nothing catastropic happens. I think that's all zhouj will let me slip, so here goes:
Is your Total Conversion still alive? And how far have you gotten on it?
For the record, the original topic was here: (url="http://"http://www.ambrosiasw.com/webboard/Forum9/HTML/004685.html")http://www.ambrosias...TML/004685.html(/url)
I look forwards to hearing your responses. Mods, if you feel this is inappropriate, feel free to lock it.

Technically: yes. I'm still working on it whenever I find the time and inspiration.
Unfortunately, that isn't very often and progress has been steady but slow. Watching snails move across the wall would be a major source of excitement compared to watching the current progress on EV:Hyperion. (Never mind the site, which hasn't been updated in months.)
I'll get there someday. I have most of it in my head; it's just a matter of getting it all on my harddrive, and making it work like it's supposed to (which sucks, because I am a pathological perfectionist...)
But anyway, I'm mainly still doing this for fun, not as a second job, and I've never made any promises. So I don't exactly feel guilty. (And if I ever decide to give up on it, I will make my work available here so others can continue or recycle it.)

My TC, The Resurgence, is still happening. Right now I've been struggling to make headway with the coding, given that during university terms I only have access to my Windows laptop and have to use EVNEW - it's not a very fun program to use. In a few days I'll be home and will be able to make more progress using NovaTools and EVONE on my Mac. TheRedeemer has been doing some very nice graphics for me, but he's been rather busy lately too.
This TC is going to get finished, but it might take a while.

basically what boot said for the human chronicles, although i'm probably 60-70% done with the first one (well... assuming i don't decide to rework the colonization in it, which i probably should). my d&d; experiment, however, will probably never be anything more than a curiosity on my hard drive (if anyone wants to actually dedicate some effort to it, i'd be more than happy to turn over everything i've done so far)

Dead and buried. Good thing I never advertised for it, and apologies to Will Thomson who generously donated his time in making landing graphics for the Galilean moons.

Graphics for The Resurgence are coming along slowly, but alot will be getting done during the summer.
As for my as yet unamed Treasure Planet style TC, little bits are getting done occasionally, but mainly on paper. The entire basis for the storyline was completely changed a few months ago, and I have yet to re-plot all the systems to take this into account. I don't know if I'll ever get this one done or not, but If it does go down the crapper, I will definately be releasing whatever's done on it to the public to do what they see fit with it.

Well, I've only actually started working on something recently (though, I've had ideas through my head for YEARS), though I can say that I'm trying to keep it small enough so that I can do it all by myself without going bonkers. For having a small amount of actual work done, and lots planned except for an actual storyline, it's coming well. But I'm not going to say that I'm not going to tell you what it is, because then that would be advertising it and I don't like disappointing people. Too bad I won't be able to show anyone real eye candy.

I currantly have two TC's in progress. One is a very simple mini TC for EV/O, called Turbulent Galaxy, That has been hacked together using idea's and graphics that I did when I was just getting started in EV plugin making. The only setback on that so far is that I discovered my 3D program can't render 36 frame movies meaning I'll have to use pics2sprites and a painstaking process to get spins. Since I was hoping this project with be a cake walk and released in one month that was a major dissapointment. Otherwise I'm almost done with that.
And my other TC hasn't got a name yet. I was working on it faithfully untill I registered nova, which formally I wasn't planning to do. Now I've paused production of it untill I decide whether or not I should switch it to a Nova TC. This one is alot bigger than the first, so I doubt it'll be done anytime this year.
------------------ Cmon people, the (url="http://"http://www.AmbrosiaSW.com/cgi-bin/ubb/forumdisplay.cgi?action=topics&number;=20&SUBMIT;=Go")Chronicles(/url) are worth looking at. Barely. I hauled it out last month and made the graphics for one more ship....but then I started thinking about the whole graphics style of the plug and am now thinking I want to re-do ALL the ships!

My TC has been moving along very well (especially considering that I'm working alone). Technical difficulties have left me unable to work for the last few weeks, but with any luck, it'll be back on track soon.
Where I am: all ship, weap, and outf resources are done, and I have the galaxy laid out on paper. I've been working on coding the systs (coordinates are a pain in the butt), taking time out sometimes to work on missions relating to the systems I've completed. I'm about half done with the map, and I'm nearing the end of my first mission string. My TC will be added to the Upcoming Plugin List as soon as work resumes.

I'm not sure if this counts as a TC or plugin, but my idea of a (url="http://"http://www.ambrosiasw.com/webboard/Forum9/HTML/004663.html")Shared Universe(/url) is reaching a usable stage. Not quite a TC or plugin since it makes use of the EVC TC, but it does autogenerate plugins.
I've another idea I've played with for a while, but it's really nothing more than noodling with a map and a notebook, really.

My TC is about 55%, mostly due to the fact that I keep adding in more plotlines that I come up with accidentally. All of the ships are in and 98% of the oütf graphics are as well, with 98% of the map done and all magor mission strings planned, 4 implemented, 2 of those half done, all Mission Computer ones (esp. those only avalible under certain circumstances or on certain planets or if belonging to a certain religeon) finished, most flëts and përss done, working on currently the Shemsu Hor/Singer tie-in string, using Lunar Cell, Glitterato and Photoshop to redo all of the planet sprites, landing pictures and nebulas, got rid of the Vell-os appearing out of nowhere and crashing everything (especially since this being a TC it has no Vell-os to speak of).
If I had persisted in my plan to redo all of the ship graphics using Mechanisto (as in redesigning all of them and rendering them for a Nova audience (as most of these are from an unpublished EVO TC that the owner kindly let me use)) I would be about 12% done. I have a lot of ships. If anyone would like to do about 50 ships for me, please drop me a line!!!
Anyway I plan to post some preambles and timelines later tonight when I get them worked into a not-rmx256-readable format.

Dark Swarm is still far from completion, and at the moment I'm stagnating. I'm currently replacing the old graphics by new, better looking ones. However, I seem to have a modeller's block, lacking inspiration. I have to write a lot of descriptions for planets and it only has very few bar missions, six to be exact, and one of them still doesn't work properly, as it causes the same system to change three times in a row (difficult), and several escort fleets that don't show up. I'm also experiencing problems with several shäns - sprites jump around for no reason. Still, it is and will remain alive. I have already put too much work into it to abandon it now.

Because the better a secret is protected and the more complicated a puzzle is, the more thinkers it attracts.” - me (url="http://"http://starlightdev.freewebpage.org")STARLIGHT DEVELOPMENT(/url)
I might add to Denb's post that our TC is certainly alive, if a bit slow when moving. I'm almost done constructing the entire universe - a task worthy of few mortal men. We also have something like 985% of the ships completed.

Alive and kicking. I've been doing a bit of work off and on for probably two years or so. I'm not actively advertising it, although some information has been released here and there. I'd like to think I'll be able to finish it someday, but it may be several more years before that happens. I'm not trying to rush it, my project's motto is "slow and steady wins the race".
