The idea is excellent. I would make it so that the project doesn't turn in an enthusiastic but counterproductive free-for-all, as it's starting to become now.

I´m now trying to make the corsait gun... And I find it very difficuklt to make it look right.. Does anyone have any idea how to make this.. Right now it spawn away from the ship, and has a speed of 0...though this mean that when you fire while turning the shots stray of... this does not look good. Any ideas..?

Well, I was going to be putting my name in the list, but this is rapidly becoming a case of too many cooks spoiling the broth. At most there should be 2 or 3 people working graphics with one working as both designer and graphical coordinator. The other two should be essentially just workers who take their lead from the coordinator. This way everything graphic wise is kept consistant and looking as if it was all designed to work together.
The way it is at the moment it is just rapidly turning into one HUGE mess with inexperienced (no offence) people chipping in "I'll do this, that and the next thing", "OOh, Oooh!!!!! I can do teh programang!! I rOx at that!!Ł$!!".
Its just going to turn into a mess at this rate. Im going to take a back seat and just quietly work away on the Terran ships on my own. I dont care if they will be used at the end, its just going to be a semi challenge for myself!

I'd rather not take spot a more experienced 3d person could have. I'd have no problem If all I did was the website.

The list is just who is willing to do this and that..not who is going to do it.
In my opinion it should be up to the coordinator, to deside who he will use.
If we don´t have a coordinator, it will just turn into a rabble anyway.
Just re-read my post... Sorry I sounded like a bit of an ass, I was at work and had just taken a bad call. I was in a bad mood However, I think my points are still valid. Everyone seems so keen to sign up, but please, consider the actual time and commitment needed to go into this. Its a lot more than you think.
I've worked on projects (and seen projects) where graphics were done by loads of different people and that more than anything made the project look poor. The actual programming for them too quickly developed into a complete shambles too... Luckily these projects failed rather quickly...
We need to find a leader. Thats the first thing. I'd vote Bomb if he's interested. Once we get a leader, everyone can be given a task, and get something going!
I've started to work on a some systs and spobs, to give the Galaxy some order. I'm still leaning towards smaller galaxy so that we're more likely to get it done.
To graphics people: if anyone gets around to doing planet graphics, they should consider the orbital platforms and what they look like.
------------------ Raemon's Law: Given a lack of better things to do, a group of webboard goers with way too much time on their hands will tend to develop web pages loaded with useless information on webboard dynamic theory.
I'm not as good as a lot of other people in graphics, but it sure will take a lot of stress off of 2 or 3 people doing all the graphics if we have 2 extra people helping. I wouldn't care if you took one of my completed models and made it look better.

That'll teach you to toss an idea to the sharks like this. Although, judging by the swarming behavior, perhaps a better metaphor would be piranha. Personally I'd love it if you were able to do any of the graphics, Captain Skyblade, but any Starcraft plug at all would be good as far as I am concerned.
