Earlier I wrote that I might release a beta plug via this thread. And so I shall:
(url="http://"http://home.comcast.net/~drtrowel//misc/Swamp.sit")Swamp.sit(/url)
Some parts of this will be familiar to some of you; all the same, I still think it's rather fun.... And almost no-one has seen the animation or heard the sound effects. Comments here or by email are very welcome -- but try to be vague in public to avoid giving away too much.
Additionally, this plug might serve as an example of the sort of thing that could work as an entry into a September/October "silly sprite" contest. It's appx 300 K as stuffed. Actually, is this plug too elaborate for a practical contest? I designed it to see what I could do under these rules:
Who would enter under those rules? Should the limits be tighter so those with less free time will be able to be more competitive?
Edit: Here are the results of my movie-making efforts. This needs a warning -- despite mediocre video quality, it's a 1.8 MB file! Perhaps only worthwhile for those with broadband:
(url="http://"http://home.comcast.net/~drtrowel//misc/sharks2.mov")Shark Attack Movie(/url)
The player ship in the movie is the Cold Fusion UE Cruiser. One mesh was from 3DCafe. The sprites and other graphics in the Swamp plug are entirely different from those in the shark movie.
So -- anyone else got a movie to share?
Here's hoping that AAC's ToonBoom plug will rise again....

So AAC is the master of the funny EVN movie, and it seems nobody is willing to challenge him. C'mon people, put up a fight!
I searched for other AAC movies, and found more evidence of prowess (url="http://"http://www.ambrosiasw.com/webboard/Forum26/HTML/015652-2.html")here:(/url) (url="http://"http://homepage.mac.com/arcangel_c/EVNo3.mov")http://homepage.mac....gel_c/EVNo3.mov(/url) 515k

I particularly like the new explosion for Vell-os weapon hits. Very apropos!

i want to...i just have to finish it...and i hopefully get the graphics right the first time...it´s a very tough render, my 1.8 dual ghz G5 renders one frame every 30 minutes and it´s 90 frames. It should be finished sometime tomorrow. Though can´t guarantee anything..

Just be happy you're not stuck with a 350mhz G3 processor to do your rendering on...

Download the Kill Bill plugin and the sound, which i don´t know how to apply. It´s not exactly like i wanted i, though it looks even more stupid now.

Wild! I haven't had a chance to play EVN in a darkened room since I installed this -- I expect it will considerably enhance the effect.
It's even stranger with your sound. Here you go:
(url="http://"http://home.comcast.net/~drtrowel//misc/Bill_Snd.sit")Bill_Snd.sit(/url) (c. 17 K)
Since you said you didn't know how, here are the steps taken to insert the sound (not necessarily the most efficient method -- just the one I know):
This requires melody_blaise_us's Kill Bill plug in order to work. I'll leave it on my server until he gets a chance to put it on his own.
Hey, by the way -- I think one of your graphics (416) isn't referenced to be used in the game. I didn't change this.
