ship rendering tutorial

Just the stock .mov format no compression and just the defaults all the way through. If you follow the tutorial I posted earlier that should work for you. Just remember it was designed for EV/EVO sprites not NOVA sprites and to follow the general guidelines that have been posted here regarding NOVA sprites 🙂

Hmmm. It still doesn't work. I make the ship spin, and then do render. I save it as a quicktime movie, then under compression settings, i choose "Animation". I have also tried "none" and it still doesn't work.

You were faking it? I was following you the whole time!

Jules: Yeah, I was going to get to that. Either way, it doesn't look pretty, but the alpha masking looks better.

Of course, magic wanding is easier and, if you are rendering a complicated ship really big (for LASIK) with a complicated texture with 72 frames, FAR quicker. 🙂

Depends on your 3D apps options...C4d can render alpha maps seperately..and it takes no extra time in the render.

da: just save the movie as a self contained movie.. Do not choose export...choose save as, select make movie self contained.
