I have a nice little Vell-os ship and everything seems to be fine but if I press the accelerate key and the afterburner key to the same time the ship wont use its afterburner but drains my fuel. I tried this out with some other inertialess ships and it`s everywhere the same. Eventually this should fixed in 1.0.5.

Actually I would say that this is a feature more than a bug. If an inertialess ship had an afterburner, then it would not decelerate afterwards like a normal ship would so I would reacon this is deliberate. Anyone in the know want to shed any light on this?

Good point. And while I'm not 'in the know', I agree with you. Only thing is, even if this is a feature, it still shouldn't drain your fuel.

Well it could kind of... If you were a vellos, your "fuel would be mental energy, a polaris raven is alive so that would be physical energy. If you concider the fact that it would be trying very hard to increase its speed, each would use up their respective energys. That said, its probably a bug
A feature? To not let you use your afterburner if you get one? If I only press the afterburner key the afterburner works... this only happens if I press accelerate and afterburner to the same time (every "normal" ship would use its afterburner in any case - these inertialess ships are... strange). That issue has been around for a long time. Holding down the accelerate key in an inertialess ship apparently slows it down (or speeds it up) to the ship's maxspeed. Just release the accelerate key (you keep going anyway, why hold it down?) and then press the afterburner key, and it will be fine.

I want to say that the afterburner works normally for an inertia-less ship like the Raven. It should allow you to accelerate faster, even to a speed faster than "max" (like regular ships). Though, with the Raven's crazy fuel regen (after adding all outfits), you can practically hold down the afterburner at all times and not lose fuel.
Ok, if this is right try to use your afterburner while holding down the accelerate key.

What do you mean by that? If you hold the accelerate key and afterburn in an inertialess ship, it simply won't afterburn, but it will use fuel. Just stop pressing the accelerate key, and everything will be fine.
you can't accelerate a normal ship past it's max speed with normal acceleration, that's basically it. The engine cuts off standard acceleration at the ship's speed limit. If you hold down the accelerate AND afterburner keys, it will afterburn, and then drop the ship down to it's max speed. You should either thrust OR afterburn.
That being said, I've never had any problems with this phenomenon.

I only posted this cause I found it out. I thought it should be fixed because there are people like me who press both keys to the same time and this can really annoying while in a fight.
I hope next time I have a more interesting post for ya
Personally, I never hold down accelerate and afterburn at the same time, regardless of what kind of ship I'm in.
