When you're working with flags, it doesn't. Matt has set up the values carefully so that you never get moved into the next place value.

If you mean that you have problems with the game recoginzing hyperspace paths, you need to be sure that both systems say that they are linked to each other. If you have for instance, systems 128 and 153 connected, you need to put the number 128 in one of the Con fields for system 153 and the number 153 in one of the Con fields for syst 128. Otherwise you will get a one way hyperjump (which may be useful for some plug ideas, but not to be overused). Hope that helps.

Ive already done that but im still having problems.
It may be you haven't set the Con values for both Syst's. Although you can make a one-way link, it isn't usually done.
I've had good luck with Pontus' EV/EVO Development Map (the link is on this board, sorry, I'm not where I can look the direct link up now). Mission Computer is also a good one to keep an eye on. Congrats on getting into ResEdit; whatever else you use, it will be your friend.

I remember that they did that in "Mugabi and Destiny" so that once the player committed themselves to follow the mission threads, they were really committed. There was no getting out of the addition systems until the plug was finished.

yeah, i linked the systems, but they still won't work. Im linking one system to a nother system i made should that affect it? im not useing any other plugins eather... When i tryed to use EVO Dev map it wouldn't work for me.
Sounds like im having a bad day :frown:, let me know if you have any idea of whats going on.
Ive got 2 problems:
1. I am making a new ship, ive already put in the ships pict/mask. But how do I put in the Ship communication dilouge, shipyard pict and target pict?
2. How do i connect a hyper link to some system before a Vis-bit?

I've also used the text file "Object Formulas" (sorry, couldn't come up with a valid link). Pontus' tool is very convenient; just punch in the ship's resource number, and it lists all the resource ID's needed for PICT, desc, etc.
Just connect the system normally. It won't be navigable before the visbit is activated; aka the link won't show up in nav computer or map.
Are you running under X? I'm not sure if EVO Developer's Map is happy in Classic mode. There is one issue when using it for a TC; it insists on opening the EVO data files at the start of an editing session. My solution was to copy Override Data 2 and delete all syst and spob from the copy, then point EVO Developer's Map at that.

Well ive fixed the Hyperlink problem, but not the ship commincation dilogue.
Ship dialogue comes from either the 'STR ' or 'STR#' resources (not sure which), but I don't know what you have to add to get the right STR resource. Mazca probably does...

One word, (url="http://"http://www.ariossoftware.com/upcoming/")EVONE(/url) - it is in development by Arios SoftWare and will enter beta in September. It features high-level editors for every resource type, including a GRAPHICAL syst/spob editor like EV-Edit. Note that all the images on the screenshots page are outdated, and will be updated with correct versions sometime soon. For more detailed information, read the dev log.

Here is a copy of the EVO Bible; I'm not sure if it's the latest or not, though, so if anyone could verify that, I'd be happy.
By the time everyones posted here twice, ive already leaurned ResEdit! yay.

You can, but templates make it easier. Nova Tools makes it simple. This subject has been introduced enough times, a simple Search should pull you up plenty of information on how to download and install.
In case this isn't clear...with templates in the resource you are editing (the way I usually do it) all the hex turns into little labeled boxes. In Nova Tools, it turns into windows and menus and sample animations and all the bells and whistles.
