When is this story going to be over?

1. Yes, it took you long enough to see the inspiration there. Specops caught it earlier. I'm surprised more and more by how many people here have read NJO. When I get better at this Webstory activity in the future I will be able to twist such inspirations in such random ways that they seem original. 😄

2. It will be officially ending soon. I'm going to write and upload my final post for EoD on 1/10/02.

I'm looking forward to the sequel y'all.

Ultimate Rebel was supposed to be returning yesterday, but since he hasn't I guess I will just go ahead and write a finale for the Azdgari.

OOC: In case you didn't guess, "Meow" translates roughly as "The Untimely End" in some nonsensical language I just made some pretense of making up. In other words, death may have found its way into Eve of Destruction.

Or not. We still have players, we can still write... I haven't been able to write lately due to school (and to be honest, not having to worry about writing this or that post has made a significant improvement on my happiness, but, never mind), but I might be able to be around for the weekend. If we have to lessen the expected pace of this story to a post a week... then why not? There's no reason to kill it off just yet, and, by the way, a sequel will in no way help (only providing a short burst of posts before another death.)

Am I posting in Just Chat or B&B;? If so, I'm probably joking.

Yeah Right, Esponer. I think this is one of the good webstory that has ever started since before Shadow Dawning.

I will make my final EoD post on 1/10/02. I will at that time conclude my EoD experience. If there is a sequel, which might work, I suggest we leave it until after either one or the other or both of the items we have been discussing on AIM occur. That might (I stress might here) renew interest in EoD and its story by the time we finish the other project, and then we could perhaps write a successful sequel.

Regards,
Solel

P.S. Of course, I could be spouting nonsense here, in which case you can just plain ignore me.

I've been busy too. I think we should go ahead and wrap up this story then after about 2 weeks start a sequel. By then mabye that Boozerama Bar will be going and more people will be on the EVO webboard. There is no point pushing this story if people are getting bored of it. If it waits a few weeks everyone will have some more ideas and mabye be a little more excited about it. Another reason for a sequel is that new players can be recruited. I'll be willing to participate in a sequel.

It might be a good idea to wait until beginning of Feb, but I am all FOR Sequel

------------------

<sigh> Why do people not get it?

Making a sequel to a story because the original failed is like throwing yourself into a booby trap because your friend just got beheaded by the thing... and no, I don't mean when you're suicidal because you know you can't cope with the loss. It's just setting yourselves up for the same thing.

It's a poor do (local phrase) if we can't get a story running that doesn't die the moment the original posting spree begins to fade, and our only counter is making a "sequel." C'mon, only film makers do that when they run out of ideas...

If you DO want to do it that way, can't we at least look at why this story got prodded off the precipice by a heavily armed Worm that found its way out of one of the most fun computer games ever made, and try to make a repeat doesn't happen?

We dont have to make a sequel just let it rest for a while. I need to have a break and come up wiht some new ideas.

I will agree to that! We can start working on different webstories Nova-related individually like specops.

------------------

Esponer, are you implying a sequel is impossible? I'm fine with a sequel, but if we choose not to do one, then let us at least create something else. Your idea of the CE, I think, will fly. I might be able to get on AIM to discuss this with you today. For now, I guess the bar will take up our boredom time while we figure out what to do with a future webstory.

Solel

P.S. Wheee...this has turned into another OOC topic! Just in time for me to post my conclusion late tomorrow! 😄

OOC: Scrap late tomorrow—I'm writing it early tomorrow! Also, Horus Interceptors are supposed to have 4 Nanite Cannons and has no NanoArmor(NOT armor and a cannon)...but that only matters if we do a sequel.

Saga of the Guild: Conclusion

It was dusk on Mira. A deep violet sky smiled down upon the capital of the Miranu Star League. Researcher Lelos Somm was strolling along the main pathways of the Mirava Rainforest Preserve with his friend Engineer Aenig. The two became almost as brothers over the course of the recent events. Somm has repaid Aenig for his hard work by keeping the secret of Edenism, refusing to make any mention of it at the meetings of the High Council. He secretly wished to see it spread.

The development of the antimatter reactor was a great boon to the fleets, and the singularity time shields were no less impressive. Somm doubted that the Star League will be troubled in the future on the military fronts. He regretted never meeting with a member of the famed Conclave, but soon would leave for an investigation regarding the destruction of Igadzra. He wanted to know who caused it.

The colonies within the Ji Nebula were thriving. Fleets were fully operational across the frontiers with the newest technology of Priat and of Event Horizon. The APOPHIS weapons practically guaranteed the safety of the Star League's citizens, merely for their psychological impact. The religion of Edenism was rapidly spreading, already encompassing the Ji Nebula and entering into the Dewe system. Researcher Somm had recently converted, and Aenig taught him in an incredibly short period of time all the precepts needed for reaching the 7th level. Stror and Sirabor were prospering as well.

Somm and Aenig could not help wondering, however, what the future beheld for the galaxy as a whole. They looked once more at the skies.

As Kirk was patrolling the North Tip on the prototype Zachit Dreadnaught, he is sitting in the captain chair reflecting back over the past few years. The Miranu have made a big significant advance in warships, and the NT Renegades are at the Rock barried by the peace treaty. Kirk thought that something have to happen soon. The NT Renegades came into view and Kirk said, "That's odd! Hail them!"

Science officer said, "Hail open!"

Kirk said, "Why are you here?"

The renegade captain was in panic and said, "There is another enemy even WORSE than us and he is trying to destroy us!" and stared back. The viewscreen broke into static.

"What's happening?" said Kirk. Someone said, "Look!"

Kirk looked at the viewscreen and gotten up to look at the viewscreen and there was destruction of the renegade ships. "Oh MY GOD. Retreat, retreat!"

The new enemy was something that created the NT Renegades and was more powerful than the NT Renegades.

The Zachit Dreadnaught successfully retreated back to Outpost Zachit, but it left a question in everyone mind. "What are we going to do against this new enemy?"

Kirk when he got back said, "Contact the planets in the North Tip and ask them if they got anything." Hizdriar got a video feed of an energy wave destroying the renegade ships, same with other planets.

Kirk stared out into space and said, "We need to MASS-PRODUCE the Zachit Dreadnaught in prep for this new enemy."

I apologize for rescinding on my words, but this is very definite.
(New Enemy for the sequel)

Emalghion had 71 Golan orbital defence platforms - of which, 40 were Golan Mk. I's, 20 were Golan Mk. IIs, and 11 were Golan Mk. IIIs. Grouped in patrols of 4 Golan Mk. Is, 2 Golan Mk. IIs, and a single Golan Mk. III, there were 10 complete patrols keeping geosynchronous orbits over various important spots. Each patrol had the capacity to deal with about 2 Cruisers, 20 Fighters, and 10 Frigates all that the same time. As such, the Emalghan High Military Council had amassed their forces mainly in Grenits. To defend against any incursion that could possibly come. A huge task force of 20 BattleCruisers, 53 Carriers, 70 Defenders, 120 Fighters, 35 Warships was in the Grenits system, with everything else but the Freighters in Emalghion. The Emalghans knew that the day would come when the Voinians would not be so peaceful, and they would be bent on coming back.

In less than one year, one small group under one evil, visionary leader engulfed its region in war and like a flame that bursts suddenly into existence and then is snuffed out the dream of its leader died. The survival spirit of the renegades did not die with Zurg's death and they declared a new system of government and elected CEO Albert Wilson to be its head. This marked the beginnings of a new era of peace in the small southern portion of huge restless galaxy...
