Silver Horizon - Part II

(OOC to Esponer : I didn't realize the Lavrii shielding was considered an integrated technology, or that it was as strong as you say it was. As such, I will correct my actions in this post.)

---

Thunder was still reviewing the list of Lavrii technologies as the conference went on when he realized there was a major problem. He again requested the Kaivrii, and upon recieving it, informed Kai'asi of his discovery.

"I realize now," Thunder said, "upon closer inspection of the list of your technologies, that your shield regnerators are part of an integrated system. Because of this, it would likely take years if not decades to alter them for use on ships of any other race, and they would likely be much less effective if they ever were successfully installed. Because of these discoveries, I withdraw my request to trade for your Shield Regenerator technology. I will continue to look over the list, perhaps there is something else we could possibly trade."

---

"We've done it," a young engineer said, rushing into Military Corps Commander Lasin's office.

"Done what?" Lasin said, not quite as enthusiastically.

"We've finished revising the Azdgari Supercruiser plans. The result is a more streamlined design, with a ultralight polymer-weave hull. And in answer to the question you're about to ask, yes, it will accept tachyonic shields, though its armor values will be no higher than 200 or 300 as a result." Lasin nodded and smiled, obviously pleased with this development.

"What about weapons systems and carried ships?"

"Well," the engineer said, "we've designed it to accept any of the three major primaries we have access to now: Proton-Matrix, Phase-Neutron, and with the new technologies gained from the advent of the Galactic Community, Duelbeam as well. We'll have to decide during the construction of the ship which of these primaries we want to use. There will also be several Tachyon Pulse Emitters. Secondaries are yet to be decided, though SAI is a likely choice. Carried ships could be either Fireflies or Defense Drones, and we've left room so that either can be incorporated when the decision is made."

"This sounds quite good," Lasin said. "Start construction immediately."

"Immediately, sir?" the young engineer stammered. Lasin nodded. "Yes, sir, it will be an honor to help build such a vessel." With that the engineer rushed off to inform his collegues of their new assignment.

The Miranu recieved the new technologies with gratitude and sent a small message of thanks to the Strand League while integrating all of the new techs into assorted ships. The Miranu were amazed, and some of the technologies would not really go onto the ships until there was a balle situation, but they had them and the Miranu knew how to put them on at least.

---------

Meanwhile the Miranu diplomat got the Kavrii and took out a list of Miranu techs. "Our techs are not as good as some of the others in here, but we will show you what we have." The diplomat displayed the techs.

Impact Pulse Cannon/Turret - Upgraded
The Miranu developed the pulse cannon soon after they established roots in the Large Megellanic Cloud. Pulse weaponry was enhanced considerably after the Ediens were pushed back, as the increasing threat of pirates and Akrahd clans - the danger of keeping relations with the Lavrii - necessitated a more powerful direct energy weapon. Impact pulse is not particularly "new", but the impact of the weapon is greatly upgraded.

Armor Damage: 15

Shield Damage: 30

Speed/Reload: Phase Weaponry

Pulse Beam Cannon/Turret - NEW
The pulse beam was developed primarily as a complement to the pulse cannon/turret, to provide extra firepower and also act as a repulsor beam in it’s own right. However, the pulse beam has become, in some cases, a primary weapon in it’s own right. Although not as powerful as the beam weaponry of other races, pulse beams are small, light and have a very high impact.

Armor Damage: 4

Shield Damage: 6

Speed/Reload: Particle Beam (EV)

Scorcher Missiles
While the Azdgari concentrated on developing powerful, effective mines and the Strand League evolved their munitions into larger, anti-warship devices, the Miranu have never strayed from their medium to light guided missiles. The scorcher missile is a relatively new design in comparison to the older pursuit missile, and most notably has a very high impact, and multiple launchers fire simultaneously.

Armor Damage: 75

Shield Damage: 150

Speed/Reload: Pursuit Missiles, although faster

Defense Pod
Somewhat improved from the old designs, the defense pod is now armed as standard not only on Miranu freighters, but also on their fighters to complement their strafing capabilities. As the defense pod cannot harm the firing ship, they are extremely effective in close quarter combat, and have even been remarked to be comparable to the Azdgari plasma mine when launched in relatively large numbers.

Armor Damage: 150

Shield Damage: 150

Speed/Reload: Freefall bomb, simultaneous firing, rocket reload

Sentinel Drone - NEW
Sentinel drones are the most prominent of Miranu defense measures. When the Miranu come across a situation where combat would be unadvisable, they deploy a number of Sentinel drones to act as decoys. However, as various enhancements took place, most notably the aid of the Strand League, the Sentinel drone became a weapon in it’s own right. Effectively a munitional weapon carrying submunitions, the drone is also armed with a pair of pulse beams, and is considerably well armoured for a device of its size. The submunitions - eight defence pods - combined with it’s own explosive power, is quite impressive.

Armor Damage: 240

Shield: 275

Speed/Reload: SAD module

Antispacial Tear Generator - NEW
A.T. generators allow damaged Miranu ships to quickly surround themselves in a ring of sub-space, preventing themselves from being harmed. However, the tear also prevents them from moving, firing or sending communications - the counter to the latter being that the tear creates such massive energy readings that it acts as an "emergency beacon". This technology is described as the spacial equivalent of a hedgehog rolling up into a ball and shouting "help!"

Miranu Navy

Striker Fighter
Strikers are the most common vessel within the Miranu navy, and act as patrol ships and escorts for large freighter convoys. On a military basis, they are classed as heavy fighter-bombers, and indeed at eighteen meters in length the Striker is one of the larger fighters in commision.

Shields: 60
Armor: 20
Weapons: 4 Impact Pulse Cannons
2 Pulse Beams
1 Defence System - 4 Defence Pods

Miranu Gunship
The Miranu gunship is a very well armed vessel, and is used as a heavy escort in more important convoys. Gunships are short of destroyers or warships, and easily destroy most fighter class vessels, so it’s difficult to categorise them.

Shields: 160
Armor: 50
Weapons: 2 Impact Pulse Turrets
3 Pulse Beams
2 Scorcher Missile Launchers - 20 Scorcher Missiles

Silverhawk Warship
The pride of the Miranu, this glorious vessel is the only ship in the Miranu navy intended for fullblown military engagement. Whereas the Striker and gunship are freighter escorts, Silverhawks are a retaliatory force should the escort be compromised. Unlike the warships of most races, the Silverhawk is a very sleek, advanced vessel, in exchange for crude firepower. While not outstanding in firepower or shielding, the Silverhawk’s qualities together make it a deadly force.

Shields: 1000
Armor: 500
Weapons: 4 Impact Pulse Turrets
3 Pulse Beam Turrets
3 Scorcher Missile Launchers - 50 Scorcher Missiles
1 Sentinel Drone Pad - 18 Sentinel Drones
1 Striker Bay - 3 Strikers

Pegasus Freight-carrier - NEW
The Pegasus was created for major shipping operations over great distances, in situations where Strikers and gunships simply did not have the range to offer support. Pegasi are capable of travelling huge distances to reach their destinations, and due to their immense size they are extremely well defended. The Pegasi has become an important part of the Miranu trading operation, especially in relations with the Lavrii.

Shields: 2500
Armor: 1000
Weapons: 8 Pulse Beam Turrets
2 Sentinel Drone Pad - 40 Sentinel Drones
2 Striker Bays - 6 Strikers

The diplomat puts the Kavrii back on the table for another to pick up.

What Jani thought was a bad response was in reality the formidable capacity of reaction of the Akrahd and Pirates. They stayed close together in small packs to help each other shot down the incredible number of interceptors and heavy fighters heading towards them. The 63 500 LMC ships headed toward the Phoenix ship all at once from all direction, firing all ammunition at it.

The lost of the Horosk battleship made Jani though that even if he had destroyed almost a all Pirates and Teh’Rak ships, he could not afford losing the psychological momentum of his troops and his allies.

Near Roo City,Cheym System

Loke Humčne entered in a store at the hypermarket, where Y Qul was supposed to meet him.

-Do you need help Mr. Asked a Chemymian worker?

-Yes, I am looking for some fireworks, but I might be in the wrong row, responded Loke?

-Just continue, it should be at your self, about as high as your eyes, Mr. Uli.

-Thank you Mr.... I cannot see you tag.

-Mister Qul, wait after me at the entrance,

They walked down the major corridors of the market talking about nothing in particular, putting words that matters to them every few minutes. They understood each other and agreed on a what would follow their short term association and future betrayal.

National AIR Post of Tyry, Antneb System

As the night came down, a small group penetrated in the small military base to steal ammunitions and various weapons from the Azdgari troops. As they finished their raid, the fire alarm sounded and everyone tried to exit the buildings in a brouhaha that made the evasion of the two men easier towards the space port, less than fifteen minutes away.

Tyry Civil LMC Space Facilities, Antneb System

The Courier left the system as planed on the schedule, all had been fine for Loke and Qul. Their luggage contained simulator-sheets that made their content look like if it was clothes, instead of weapons and bombs.

In Osara, Burton, Barah and Deneba, similar event happened. Unfortunately, Zadgari's team of three was killed by an Azdgari's grenade fired at them. The body parts were sent to a military detective that would analyze them.

Klak Civilian Space Port, Klak System

A member of the Azdgari Eagles' Children met Loke and Qul at the space port.

-Excuse me. I am looking for the toilets, asked Qul?

-They are right next to that land shuttle, which can bring you to Gloucester in less than a second.

-That could be interesting, responded Loke, could you keep our luggage for a while, just to make sure no one steals them.

-Absolutely. Anything else I can do?

-Not yet, we will come back in a few minutes to take them back and take a flight to Romeo.

The three men continued on their own their little journey as if nothing had happened over the recent past. However, the robbery was making Galactic News Coverage‘s first page and some citizen were beginning to doubt about what would come next.

Parliament Hill, Teh‘Rak

-About two thousand battleships are now in the Four Arms ready to help.

-That is a nice news. Well much better that to know the even more Horosk ships are present in the Galaxy. Are the Death Rays ready.

-As always Sir, they stood as guard but now will stand as spears.

-Authorize the laying of mines in NSI-9001 and build a better Outpost on Cheble and move the BG.Kor.IV there with the Death Ray.

Harad (edit for Esponer)

The two hundred ships were patrolling in each nearby system as an early warning system for the 7 200 T.R.S.A. ships in Harad, while the T.R.S.T. was still bringing material to colonize the planet.

OOC: Another quickie, I need to go clean the basement -- a daunting task, I assure you -- but I wanted to post an update on my character before it seems like I've abandoned the story. 😉

Silently, the Sladerei shuttle emerged from hyperspace into the Horosk system. With a short thrust of its finely tuned maneuvering ion engines, it reoriented itself towards the Horosk capital planet.

Inside, the beep that accompanied the reversion to realspace woke shayborg up from his nap. Despite his best efforts to keep himself busy during the long trip, he had often found himself nodding off out of sheer boredom; he was certainly looking forward to ending the long trip and meeting his first foreign head of state.

Along the way, shayborg had rehearsed the standard diplomatic pleasantries to perfection and memorized all he could remember about the Horosk and their history. When, somewhere around the jump out of Nar'Nonra, he had grown thoroughly sick of these, he had started indulging in one of his favorite hobbies, left over from his time as an engineer at Tiran University: he started tinkering with his ship. As he fiddled with the already impressive engine, shayborg was pleasantly surprised that he hadn't lost all of his touch with electronics. By the time he reached Horosk, the ship was already operating at 106% theoretical peak efficiency, and its captain was very pleased with the results.

As the ship coasted into Horosk, shayborg looked at his messages again. There were none classified "Urgent", so he looked at the lone "Important" one instead. As he read the news, he grinned. The arrival of a Horosk battle group at NGC-3776, combined with the deployment of the Sladerei battle group, had cut monetary trading losses by 80%. The Interim Prime Minister smiled as he leaned back into his seat. I'm doing a pretty decent job , he allowed himself to boast, as he went back to sleep for the final approach to the planet.

OOC:The battle is in Dilgu, not Calla. The Phoenix-class Battleship is, quite simply, extremely powerful. It takes ages for me to build one of these darned things, and the main reason for that, is that the energy shield matrix is extremely fine crafted. A simple charge by an enemy fleet when said enemy fleet is outnumbered extremely simply doesnt work.

8th Horosk Carrier Battle Group - Dilgu
The Pirate and Akrahd charge at the Phoenix Battleship failed miserably. Not only did it have an escorting fleet in the thousands, every ship shooting down munitions, enemy fire barely phased it when the energy shield matrix was active. The battered enemy fleet, outnumbered vastly, and down to battered ships, simply stared in astonishment as the Phoenix Battleship plowed on, smashing straight into them. The energy readings on the ship started to go down, but before the Akrad could react, the Phoenix Battleship had sped past them and vanished into sub-space fold.

The remaining enemy ships where simply outnumbered, outgunned, and surrounded. And any reinforcements they might get would be unable to surprise the Horosk, who had already emplaced cloaked frigates in the surrounding systems.

NSI-9002
H.N.S. Turthna - Light Carrier
The captain of the Turthna, Levni, looked on in amusement at the Akrahd attempts to lay a minefield. As it was, the Akrahd minefield deployements where primitive, and thus easy to disrupt.
'Tactical, exit sub-space fold and launch 20 Interceptors under stealth. Enter fold when all fighters are launched.'
'Aye, aye, Sir. Interceptors are preparing to launch. Probability of enemy detecting sub-space imbalance is 0.2% on re-entering fold.'

A short while after, the Akrahd stared in amazement as their minefield went up in massive explosions. The Interceptors had remained at maximum stalker missile range, and targeted clumps of mines carefully. With stealth fields at full power, the EMC had adjusted the fields whenever Akrahd sensor scans passed near them. The Akrahd had never detected a thing till the mines went up. Then under cover of the explosions, the Interceptors boosted away and vanished into the darkness of a sub-space fold as the Light Carrier retrieved them.

The pirates check their radars on a whim, and the technician nearly goes into shock.. before he can comment, what was previously just a few bleeps on the radar, jumped into the System..
Azdgari Warfleets Piscopo and Lancaster, in all their Glory. Each fleet consisting of 7,100 Azdaras, 8,600 Aradas, 4,485 Laziras, 2,300 Igadzras, 1000 Carriers, the pirates and Akrahd were quickly outnumbered even more so.
The Azdgari had another treat for the Akrahd forces as well.
The Akrahd and Pirate packs weren't expecting a thing as 140 azdaras passed for a daring strafe.
The Fighters met a hail of weaponry, and answered with a volley of phased neutron. Unknown to the enemy pack, 20 azdaras in the middle of the squadron were powering their shield rams, since, after all, they had no weaponry..
The Phased-Neutron did slight damage to most of the ships, however 20 azdaras were falling behind.... and instead of turning for the strafe, they plowed forward..
The 20 Azdaras were recently developed Kamikaze azdaras...
The order to pack together proved fatal, as the 20 Azdaras continued their trajectory... The first five easily wiped out the shields of the whole group, and five more crashed through the hulls... With each azdara impact doing 1600 shield damage and 600 armor, the whole pack was decimated into ruin... ten of the azdaras even pulled back and stormed towards another fleet decoyed by a squadron of 100 Igazras..

The Azdgari fleet continued to engage the forces, mostly concentrating on the Akrahd, with SAE flying everywhere, and occasional bomb explosions...

*Note: I have less than a hundred kamikaze azdaras..... they have a large blast radius, their shield ram blocks most enemy weaponry and adds to the damage. The blast range is large, but my fleets are spread out so detonating azdaras won't destroy me fleets...

OOC: One of the rules listed on the Silver Horizon Rules Page is this:

Quote

7. There are three kinds of projects: Research Projects (developing new ships, weapons, and technology), Outfitting Projects (outfitting new technology, weapons, or upgrades on existing ships), and Construction Projects (constructing a very large command station of supercruiser). There is a max of Two Projects at any one time.

Have we decided to abandon this rule, or are we simply being too lax in enforcing it? It seems like nearly half the players have more than two projects going on at a time, I've even seen as many as five.

OCC:

-Between 500 and 2000 secondary would be needed to shot it down, which can be easily done by our Teh’Rak ships, which can fire more than 21 920 at once, plus the Pirate ships, which are about 26 000. The adaptability of your shields cannot make that much ammo miss their target. Even if it could, Teh‘Rak munitions continue on towards their target.
-Even if the shield matrix is well done, you still have a fix number of points like any other ship has. This is quantitative, not qualitative. The only thing that changes it the recharge rate, the stealth, and adaptability. If you develop a better tuned shield, it raises the amount of shield you have, otherwise no standards would allow anyone to agree on something.
-The stealth ability of a super cruiser is not as great as the one of a smaller ship, even if it has enough energy to power all these active devices. Even if all your ships fired at the Pirates and Teh’Rak, the Phoenix would fall and then I would shot down as many ships of yours as I could. The way you wrote it, they came just after my arrival, so I still had many ammo left if all my primary stopped working for any stupid reason you can invent.

-A cruiser that size do jumps like that.

-I love aiming at cruisers, they are actually living dead, like the Bismarck that could not face an aircraft carrier. Such a pitiful end...

Already, deployments to all enemy and uninhabited systems near and in enemy space had been despatched. They would warn the main fleet of any ships heading for the Dilgu system, so that the Horosk could be ready.

Since there are about thirty thousand Pirate ships in each system you should consider some deadly actions. You wrote that there were hidden frigates, but these are not hidden. Also, post some fleet number to deal with, so I can argument without having to wait a post from you.

-Normally, a minefield is one of most difficult situation that faces an army, and removing mines from it is equally difficult. Remember RH.

-The Cavalry is late, it still does not change the result of the battle. Kamikaze Azdara's 1600 shield yield is in resedit I hope.

Defeat is part of the game.

By choosing your enemy to do the worst actions, you can make my ships do idiot things, but I can make your ships do even more stupid things, but I will not, as it is an offence.

The AP weaponry was still making devastating results on the secondary employed by the two native sides against the oppressor. However, their tracking system was constantly confused and could not aim without much accuracy at such small ordinances. Still, the quantity add an effect, but for once in the battle it was negligible. -The AP stuff is not like the tachyonic weaponry which has a 120 degrees of fire- Also, it could not stop that much ammunitions - a few thousand incoming constantly- The Horosk escorting fleet pleasantly fired at each Teh’Rak and Pirate ships in sight, but many of their own interceptors were taken down inevitably in such a crammed system. This moment was one of predilection for the remaining native forces that had not to care about what they were targeting.

NSI-9002

The twenty interceptors had performed a good job for their country, blasting mines is nice and easy, almost like targeting at immobile targets to train. They could not fire at all hundreds of mines in the system and had aim at a the closest to them, so no Teh‘Rak ships were harmed. Even if the Staler missile was a fast firing type of weapon, the interceptors could not target more than twenty five mines before leaving.

Unfortunately, the blast radius of the Teh’Rak mines was greater than they expected and one of them remained disabled as it drifted towards the Teh’Rak mine layer ships. In the exaltation of the moment, Horosk pilot Attardé Mental forgot about his distant winger and it was too late for him to tell to the carrier to move towards the . Knocked unconscious, Soulé Droguer was captured with his interceptor. He was immediately transferred to Akrion III under anaesthesia.

The mining process in NSI-9002 continued as if nothing had happened.

The 50 000 ships in NSI-4200 headed towards NSI-9002 and then to Var’Neth. S-D-1 was towed back to Korellian with Death Ray I.

2 600 battleships raged towards the Azdgari, Horosk -and Kayan or are they in Kar’Neth-. 5200 Necromancers were also present with 4 000 new Pathogen warships that prorogued a bigger havoc in the enemy ranks. 28 600 Defilers, Dragons, Lion Spears and Desecrators screamed at the aliens at the aliens before them. Then, they were helped by 7 800 Missile Boats and 42 266 fighters.

About the number of projects, Esponer started a while ago (Part I) with the colonisation of the SMC while having some other projects. I followed his way at the end of Part I, but you did not with Centaur. RMA certainly used this method.

Would you enlighten us upon that and the "Arada" you mentioned? What manner of ship is it?"

He turned then to Thunder. "Please do examine our technologies more thoroughly - even if our shields are not suitable for you, we may have other things that might interest you. Your Enhanced Defence Pods interest us greatly."

Turning to the Miranu representative, Kai'asi spoke again. "Miranu, although your technology may be inferior, to our eyes it is quite desirable. What do you wish to trade for your Defence Pods? They are of great interest."

Motioning Ai'siu over, Kai'asi whispered in her ear.
"There is apparently a fourth race we may be interested in contacting, a "Strand League." Contact their leader - possibly they will consent to a meeting, although it will be after these diplomats have departed."
"Of course, Supreme Arbiter." Ai'siu replied.

(Re: Summit)
Greetings to the Strand League! We are the Lavrii Union, to the SouthWest of Strand League space. Our leader, the Supreme Arbiter Kai'asi, would like to meet with your leaders to determine the possibility of technology trading between our nations.
A list of Lavrii Union technologies is attached.
May The Sun Shine Well Upon You, friends!

WEAPONS

Polaron Cannon/Battery
The polaron cannon is the Lavrii‚s basic primary weapon. When they were
attacked by the Akrahd, they quickly realised that their standard weaponry
(which was before a type of thoron laser) would not be effective against
such large numbers. They thus designed polaron weaponry, which as well as
damaging the enemy, would also reduce the functuality of communications and
sensors on their target. When under heavy fire, many Akrahd vessels are
unable to detect anything beyond their ship, and have thus been completely
unable to fire with any accuracy.

Armor Damage: 25

Shield Damage: 10

Reload/Speed: Phase on both counts

Polaron Wave Emitter
This weapon emits waves of polarons similar to that in a polaron cannon.
They make use of the „side effect‰ of the polaron cannon more than they do
damage, although the wave emitter can also be useful for it‚s 360ş
simultaneous fire. At relatively close range, wave emitters can disrupt
both sensors and communications being sent through another ship‚s shields.
Lavrii interceptors are known to enter Akrahd ranks under cover of heavier
ships and completely cut off the Akrahd‚s ability to make tactical
decisions. However, the waves must cover all sides of their target to have
effect, and thus it is impossible for one Lavrii ship to disrupt another
ship - it takes at least two (but a hundred can disrupt another hundred, if
they are not destroyed first). They also have the side effect of bouncing
away enemy ships quite a distance

Armor Damage: 5

Shield Damage: 0

AS Torpedo
The anti-shield torpedo is one of the Lavrii‚s oldest technologies - before
they encounted the armour based Akrahd. Only their older ships actively
employ this weapon. When it collides with shielding, the torpedo scramble‚s
the shield frequency. The result of this is that the enemy cannot fire
without damging their own shields, until the effects have worn off, after a
minute or two. Against the Akrahd, these weapons have mostly proved
effective at halting enemy fire, rather than being very useful to damage
the enemy.

Fusion Dart
The fusion dart is a recently developed Lavrii munitional weapon. They are
much smaller than their earlier AS torpedoes, and to make their small size
inexpensive, they lack guiding systems. Fusion darts are launched out of
Lavrii ships extremely fast - several times faster than the speed of a
standard freefire rocket. They are thus capable of greater accuracy.
However, the darts only effect armour, so beyond the Akrahd they would not
be of particular use.

Armor Damage: 45

Shield Damage: 1

Reload/Range: Javelin Rockets (EV)

Polaron Heavy Laser
The most powerful single weapon employed by the Lavrii is the polaron heavy
laser. Only the heaviest of Lavrii vessels are capable of directing a
discharge, although the energy of smaller ships can be drawn into the
discharger to amplify the damage. The laser itself takes some time to
charge, and at a minimum three interceptors must supply their energy. On
average, if the four ships all keep together, the polaron heavy laser will
fire every fourty seconds. The effects, as usual, scramble communications
and sensors over a wide area, and when the target‚s shields are
down they can scramble in-ship communications as well. They also have a
second side-effect; it will immediately disable an enemy ships weapons for
10-20 seconds, much like the Anti-Shield Torpedo does.

Armor Damage: 300

Shield: 100

Reload/Range: 40 seconds if link is maintained / munitional range

Polaron Disruptor
Designed to help retreating Lavrii ships, the Polaron Disruptor shoots out a
ball of compressed polaron energy in an ion lattice. Once the ion lattice
degrades and eventually disappears, the polaron energy is released, creating
an area of disrupted polaron energy. Weapons detonate when going through it,
and homing weapons going near it are jammed, though communications are not
really hampered. It is quite useful for retreating fleets, for anything that
touches it is damaged or destroyed.

Armor Damage: 50 per second

Shield: 50 per second

Reload/Range: Range and speed of a pursuit missile, with a rather slow
reload

Limpet Mine
The limpet mine is one of the „afterthoughts‰ of a battle involving the
Lavrii, and usually the Akrahd. They take special care to eliminate the
shields of as many targets as possible before destroying them, so they can
fire tiny robots known as „limpet mines‰ at the target‚s hull. The mines
begin to tear apart the hull slowly, even after the battle is finished.
They are virtually impossible to detect, and can do some serious damage.
Eventually, they run out of power, and stop functioning. However, if an
Akrahd fleet was to go into hyperspace, the chances are when it returned to
realspace it‚s armour would be severely damaged.

Armor Damage: 2

Shield Damage: N/A

Reload/Range: Firing; defence pods, primary range, In effect; damage per
second, contact range

======================

TECHNOLOGY

Lavrii Shielding
Lavrii shields are different in several aspects to standard shielding.
Their shields are extremely weak, but recharge very quickly. As a result,
Lavrii ships are destroyed when they are targetted by overwhelming
firepower, and not by multiple encounters. Enemies who have attempted to
take on the Lavrii one by one have been quickly destroyed. Another
important note is that an attack which would usually destroy a Lavrii ship
tends to only destroy the shielding - the armour is unaffected. This means
that in general, at least two hits will be necessary to destroy one of
their ships, but if the damage is three or more times greater than their
shield capacity, this rule does not count.

Lavrii Shield Regenerator
Since Lavrii ships tend to trade heavy shielding for lightning fast shield
recharge, they quickly realised that when targetted by very heavy weaponry,
they would be at a serious disadvantage; and would likely be destroyed
before their shields could recharge. As such, the Lavrii developed an
add-on to their shield system, which draws their vessel‚s fuel and
instantly recharges the ship‚s shields. As a result, Lavrii shields are
able to stay on the field in critical situations.

The Valanor made their move.

Their entire fleet was being assembled, ready to fight. But not the Tronoak. Not just yet. They were moving to the borders to assault the Arkanok. It would extend their territory, spread out the Tronoak when the time to attack came. Why not?

Espona stood at the head of the fleet, in his personal cruiser, and looked out to the point where they would move into the Sirani system to begin the attack. Meanwhile, manufacturing plants were churning out ship after ship back home to augment the fleet's original strength. Many, however, would be sent to guard the borders from the Tronoak. The fleet neared the jump point. Espona smiled grimly. Time for them to pay a little visit...

"He said no! Now we have to use the damn pigeons!"

OOC- Shade, I wrote the Lavrii techs (not Vaesk, though, and not one Lavrii weapon), so I have a fairly good idea of what I meant. Sorry for not being a little more specific, but the regenerative capabilities of Lavrii shields are hand-in-hand with their shields...I did say "add-on to their shield system", didn't I? Isn't that a clue enough?

Do not antagonize me, RMA. You have -no- idea how close I am to kicking you out of this story of having some huge catastrophe wipe out half your population.

Thunder; take a little longer to build that supercruiser of yours. The Kayans have, to be honest, never constructed a huge supercruiser class vessel; you don't even have shipyards for doing it. Just add two or three posts, whatever you think is best. Also, I'm trying to keep good track of all the happenings in SH, but you know, I DID appoint you and SilverDragon as mods, Thunder. 😛 Use some of your moderating power and jump on people who are breaking rules.

Vella System
OOC: I think that's he one that Nova invaded

The Ediens were originally caught off-guard by the attacking Voinian fleet. However, as their fleet began to regroup, the Ediens launched off several huge waves of interceptors, which began to swarm the Voinians and inflict fairly heavy casualties on their fighter wings.

Finally moving into a good defensive formation, hundreds of Edien Destroyers charged forward at the enemy, their powerful ion beams blazing away at the Voinians as the Edien Battlecruisers and Edien Escort Carriers shot fusillade after fusillade of torpedoes. Quantum Pulses, which had exceptional range, were also used heavily against the Voinians. However, the Voinians still heavilly outnumbered the Ediens, and though they were destroying many Voinians, the Edien fleet was more or less doomed.

A total of any two projects, correct.

Grundy; maybe. 😛 Just remember that, really, the dreadnoughts can't stand up to unlimited punishment, and the Feds DO have the IXD and Shockwave Missiles.

OOC:I first point out Ap Beams are turreted, and AP Beam Strips are also 'turretted', so they'd give a lot better coverage than 120° weaponry. I must also point out that the Horosk Cruisers outnumber the Battlecruisers by over 20 to 1. I just also point out that each cruiser has 2 AP Beam turrets, giving them over 64000 turrets just for interception. Then you have their escorting frigates, which have over 192000 turreted AP Beams. Simply, my fleet outnumbers the Akrahd one massively, and I've already wiped it out twice.

I must also point out I ahd the Interceptors launching the striker missiles as maximum range. The minefield is uncomplete, and my interceptors would not stray into range. I must also point out, that if they where in range, the rest of the minefield would go up in a very big bang. The Horosk are the most knowledgeable people at minefields in the current known galaxies, they know what they're doing.

Thus, I ask for a moderator to intervene. Thank you. Please ask any other questions you may have.

I was told colonisation was seperate earlier by you, Carnotaur.

Oh, and you only have IXD by proxy. 😛

MOD- Ne Demord Jamais, all of what RMA has said there is true as far as I'm concerned. Also, the capture of an interceptor isn't exactly all that easy - for one thing, most would simply self-destruct at that stage, either by computer, by pilot or by the extremely fun containment leakage. But to put that aside, the capture of the interceptor is revoked.

Difficult to tell from your posts, but it appears that you've destroyed the Phoenix? Revoked there. And if you meant 500-2000 munitions to blow up the Phoenix, you're wrong. It would take something more along the lines of...half a million to a million, and that's not including: multi-emitter shielding, the Phoenix's special shield matrix, energy armour, the fact it and the Horosk fleet CAN shoot down thousands of missiles incoming at a time with over 200,000 fully turreted weapons, and the fact that their jamming would make over 75% of those missiles not hit anyway.

And the frigates RMA placed in whatever system it was, are cloaked. You cannot detect them. You cannot detect any cloaked Horosk ships, regardless of whether or not you think you can. Nor will wild firing do any good - they cease to exist in this dimension while under "cloak" (it's a little technique RMA and I prefer to hiding your ship within realspace, which usually, like you said earlier, has downfalls for larger ships.)

(edit)can't post right now, I have 19,000 words to write(/edit)
