Paul transmitted to the Zidagar patrol fleet a simple message. "We wish to talk with ESPilot about and alliance. Arrange a meeting or tell us no. We have no time to waste." Copies had been brought of Miranu technology, as either persuasive gifts or for a tech trade. There was some rumor on the comm that the Coalition had some sort of replication machinery. A message was sent to UEA under heavy encryption:
“Greetings, allie! We hear you have a device which allows for formation of matter from energy. We would like to trade for this. We have several techs that we could make available to you, such as our new Multi-Vector Assault Gunboat, or possibly our Dragon Dreadnaughts. A tech that might interest you, should you be engaging the Accara in a ground battle soon, would be our Mech fighting units. Send a reply to us with what you might find of interest. And we still have not heard from you on iif you want to corroborate in building the Aurgelmir. Please respond.”
The diplomat in the Miranu Courier approaching Confed space sent a message ahead reqeusting a meeting with grunadulator. As it left miranu space, two Heavy Fighters took up escort positions.

Avann the prototype Battleship jumps in for a field test. several Photon torpedos slam into a wolf as spurs fly into another. a wolf next to the Battleship was seemingly not there after a minute or two from the ionic particle beam turrets. the battleship destroyed 6 wolves befor jumping out. the rest of the Coalition fleet also pummeled the Acarra taking out another 2 durring the time the Battleship was in the system. this battle was clearly going the Coalitions way. Zachit was important strategically, and should be defended against Acarra attack. The psychic from Earth was going to meet her at the Angel's Lair to incorporate the Old Earth research with the new Singularity Beam. Everyone was suddenly exploring their psychic potential. She should meet with Saraine and with ESPilot to finalize plans for the USHOVs. Which reminded her:

Avann the battle raged on but the Acarra were outnubered, outguned, and overall outdone. the Coalition fleet beat down on the 6 enemys left with more ionic beams than you can count within 30 seconds. the Acarra had but 2 ships left now and they were seperated. the Coalition fleet moved in and took them both out one at a time. the Acarra fleet was defeted.

"Sounds fine to me," Saraine said. "Now, I'll try to crack the brick again - although I do have to wonder about the mentality of someone who walks around with bricks in their pockets was it a prop from a Zidagar opera, perhaps? I've always liked Zidagar opera, myself. And Zidagar Cheese Balls." Shutting up, Saraine concentrated on the half-brick. Slowly cracks began to appear in it, growing like tree roots. The brick collapsed into a pile of shards. "Hmmm, it didn't do that last time." Saraine said. "Perhaps it was because I was trying to break it?" "Probably." ESPilot agreed. "The Gadzair used special crystals to amplify their psychic powers, but we don't have any." "That's where you're wrong." Saraine grinned and replied. "After the Battle of Gadzair, the Dark Angels went through Council Station looking for interesting stuff. We found a lot of interesting crystals, but didn't know what to do with them. I think they're in an old Miranu Freighter hold near the center of the Angel's Lair." Calling up the terminal, Saraine searched for Gadzair crystals, and eventually located them. "I was right. C'mon, they're reasonably close."
Five minutes later, the two men were in the dark and battered hold of a Miranu Freighter, which had long ago been built into the mess of salvaged ships that was Angel's Lair. "Here's one." ESPilot picked up a long faceted spindle shape of bluish crystal. "It'll do." Saraine replied. "Try to find some others, and we'll go back to see if we can use them."
(OOC: Carno, would it be possible for an untrained telepath to instinctively use a Gadzair amplifying crystal? Say yes.)
On Tidibat, Dr. Krist was looking through the colony's records to find evidence of "pure" Strandless. It was a hard job; the last time Tidibat had collected census data was eighteen years ago, and all their data was in hard copy form. With the help of the few underpaid Tidibat resident Strandless who looked after this mess, however, Krist was eventually able to find a dozen prospects in the colony's birth records. Later searching revealed that of those, two had died of childhood ilnesses, three had died in Renegade attacks, and two had died in unrelated instances which both, for some reason, involved an Igadzra anteater. That left five "pure" Strandless to find and interview.
Akhanris' apartment on Xarnes was a mess. Normally it was an attractive mess of artistically arranged items, but when he was working on a ship design, it rapidly became a mess of old Igaffee* cups, discarded design sketches, and odd bits of paper with arcane architectural equations on them. In classical lone-genius mode, though, Akhanris took no notice of it, instead sitting hunched over a wide flatscreen terminal. In all simulations of his plans for the Artemis - class Dreadnaught, it got hammered by Acarra weapons fire. The Dark Angels had traditionally responded to heavy weapons fire by making the shields more powerful, but Akhanris felt that a change of direction was needed. Something to pick off incoming missiles and torpedos before they hit feverishly, Akhanris opened a new window, and began to work.

Note however that the Flux Compensators will require time to be integrated into your weapons systems, and that they would be best employed on energy weaponry; Fluxed shields occilate extremely fast and physical weaponry simply can't go that fast. Avann System
Though they had lossed three starcruisers to the Coalition fleet, all three of the supercruisers had rammed the station before blowing up, wiping out what was left of its shield grid and badly damaging its armor.
Finally, under heavy weapons fire, the station began to implode. The Acarra jumped out instantly for an unknown destination, and the Coalition fleet tried to escape as well, but before they could the station exploded violently, sending flaming debris into the Coalition fleet and destroying several of their ships and damaging several others.
Romit System
The Acarra fleet, being much faster than the Coalition in hyperspace, now slipstreamed into the Romit system and also headed straight for the station. Moving into position and pummeling it with all they had, another of the starcruisers was severely weakened by enemy weapons fire, and thus began a slow ram of the station.
Blasting through the shield grid, the starcruiser slowly crashed into the Voinian battlestation, and actually began to push it towards the planet. It was too weak, however, and exploded, causing heavy damage to the station and pushing it more towards the planet.
The Acarra tried the tactic again, but this time with a much more healthy starcruiser, which was able to push the station quite a distance with its huge engines before exploding.
The Acarra then pushed several asteroids into it (using their form of tractor beams), which finally did the trick; the station was pushed too far into the planets gravity and began a slow descent into the atmosphere.
The station finally detonated as it crashed to the ground, incinerating everything within a 1,000 kilometer radius and causing severe damage to the atmosphere and spreading huge amounts of fires. The Acarra then began a quick bombardment of the planet, wiping out what was left of the colony. This was quickened by the fact that one Wolf was hit badly and fell to the ground, exploding so tremendously that it wiped out several cities.
Finally, leaving behind the devastated colony after loosing 4 of their starcruisers, the Acarra slipstreamed out. They then hid in Krraali, before breifly jumping into Emalghion, and then back out towards Kelmoan, where they would now stay and hope that the Coalition tried to chase them.
Dirach System
Sneaking in from where the Azdgari thought none could come, Lythrawn now lead his forces. A fleet of 130 warships jumped into the Dirach system and opened fire with all they had, pretty much obliterating the first and second defense fleet waves, then moving in to deal with the rest of the fleet.
Plowing through enemy resistence, the huge Apollyon lead the charge, its impenetrable shield matrix impervioust to all enemy fire. The swarms of enforcer frigates and wolf starcruisers simply overwhelmed the enemy, and immediately dozens of legion troop transports, each carrying about 1,500 soldiers, began landing on the surface. One of the prisoners taken was Fleet Admiral Yakuza, though none knew this; Yakuza had pretty much disappeared and was hiding on Dirach in a forced vacation (he thought he was going mad). And so, the Acarra captured the Azdgari's greatest threat to the Acarra, and they didn't know it.
However, as the last of the defense fleet was chased down, Lythrawn was confident that the Azdgari would soon send a backup fleet to try and retake Dirach...
OOC: Please don't look into Yakuza's disappearance, Red. I'll make sure you learn about him soon enough. It has to do with something I'm planning.
Acarra Frontier
With attacks from the Dark slowing, the Acarra frontier in the known section of the milky way were gearing up for a major push. Ships were being assembled and shipyards were working as fast as they could. Ships were being poured out from captured or newly built shipyards, and were mostly produced not by the Acarra, but by slaves. Millions of them, working endless like zombies. The Acarra had a lot of workers, yes, but not enough to build very many ships. So, in conquered territories, they used slaves (though in their own space, there were plenty of civillians and workers do make ships, there just isn't much on conquered worlds).

"I'm not sure how this would work, but I think you just concentrate on having the crystal do what you want it to do. Like, for instance, crumble the brick." "All right, I'll try that." Saraine responded. He did what Espilot said, focusing on having the crystal destroy the brick. After a few seconds, the brick simply dissolved into a very fine reddish powder. "Yow! Now that's what I call fast-acting! Let me try..." While having not nearly as much true psionic potential as Saraine, Espilot still had a good bit more experience with it. Instead of focusing on destroying the brick, he focused on having the crystal levitate the brick, and float around in circles. Instantly the brick rose up into the air, and began to circumnavigate the room. "Interesting. Well, as we know, the Azdgari all have latent psionic potential, but it hasn't been brought out yet, obviously. I think that by training with these crystals, they could become a formidable psionic force. But if we succeed in having powerful psionic suppressors, that wouldn't be much use unless they were our allies. Well, Mamajama should be arriving here soon. MOD: Sorry guys, but you couldn't have found the crystals that easily. I accidentally missed that part of Shade's post.
Anyway, firstly, there were practically no crystals left over from the battle with the Gadzair; they shatter too easily, and Yakuza had all the intact ones destroyed. Now, there should be some lying around on the planet, probably in caves. The Dark Angels will have to send down some troops, look around, and then I'll just post a reply about them finding it.
Also, you'd need a bit of work to crumble a brick.
