The metal sheet was finished, and it was time to test it out. Grunadulater hammered the metal into some rock with a malot, and the metal didn't bend. Taking the Partical Beam gun, he shot the metal right in the middle. When the smoke cleared, the metal was untouched. Grunadulater noted though, the metal was still smoking a bit. Grunadulater worked all day on helping the Village, soon to be called Hinavar Village. At night, he stared into the sky. A flash of blue-green lightning struck a tree, and the treewas incenerated. The Confederates filled the Sijak diplomats in on all that had transpired with the Galactica Imperium, leaving out not a single fact. They didn't try to be biased, and so they included everything that the Confeds had done as well.
The ECTA was doing immensely well in the Eta Cassiopea galaxy. The Confeds and ECTA had recently worked out all of the "Red tape" issues, meaning that the two could function swiftly and effeciantly, and prosper even more.

Galactica had taken a beating from the initial bomb blasts from the Confederates, but it's recently upgraded shields handled the battering better than they would have before, a lot of the damage being diverted off into space or absorbed by the masses of shield layers.
Galactica responded to the Confederates attacks, by staying out of range of every planetary missle base, and the command stations weaponry. Even when tractored, it couldnt keep in range of the the Galactica fleet.
Galactica was battered, but it was in much better health than the Confederates thought. The new shield grids just kept absorbing damage, the multiple layers bleeding away most of the damage. The Confederates where hampered massively by the fact that none of their remaining fixed defences where in range. The missles and torpedoes shot towards the Galactica fleet where largely ineffective, most of them being picked off by crack pds systems, many others being drawn off target by the tempting emissions of the many ecm drones, or smashed into each other with gravity wells.
The new Confederate defence drones had proved an initial nasty surprise, but Galactica was treating the drones to massed railgun fire. A single railgun battery could hit a drone from both sides, and Galactica had a lot of spare railgun batteries. The drones also found what it was like to be the target of thousands of repulsor and tractor beams, which Galactica had finally implemented tactical plans, even though it had always ahd them, due to them being standard fit on all warships. Transfered shield energy just meant more to be annihilated when they got smashed together. If they survived the shileds clashing, they found their hulls couldnt. Any repulsors the drones might have had proved feeble against several times their number.
The Confederates shield transfer system made destroying individual ships harder, but in Galacticas opinion, every hit destroyed shields. It also left the Confederates open to specialised targeting plans. Volley after volley of missles shot towards the Confederate fleet. Random groupings all looked like they where heading for a specific ship, but the attack drive on each standoff missle could change course very quickly. If the Confederates transfered less shield energy, it left their other ships open to attack, and if they didnt, it left the targeted ships dead.
The Heavy Beam Cruisers where proving their worth, smashing everything they had into any ship which came near. Often enough, it destroyed said ship completely before the Confederates could do anything. Even when they manged to transfer energy, Galactica just managed to destroy even more shields. The defence drones quickly found exchanging fire with a Heavy Beam Cruiser to be a losing proposition.
The improved layering system was proving its worth, shileds regenerating extremely quickly, and taking even less damage than before.
Meanwhile, Galactcia had decided if it was going to do things properly, it may as well put everything into the pot. 600 ships arrived from Leka and Gadzair, leaving the systems bare of most of their mobile defences. The Confederates would find any attacks on those systems much harder than they might expect though.
The 600 ships, upon arrival, took up a defencive perimeter around the other Galactica ships, and instantly shot a few thousand missles into space, which procceded to head towards the Confederate fleet, and then deactivate. After that however, they added a lot of firepower to Galacticas fleet. Galactica outnumbered the Confederate fleet by over 2-1, and its ships where still a lot healthier.
At this point, Galactica changed its targeting slightly. A full fleets worth of missles shot off, apparently heading off into deep space. The next volley repeated this, but not so far of course as the last volley. When the next volley laucnhed however, the 2 previous volleys changed direction. The first was heading for the moons, the second for the Command Station, and the third targeted a large spread of Confederate ships. Every volley would arrive at the same time. The Confederates couldnt defend everything at once.

In deep Galactica space, the 8th Galactic Fleet was performing maneauvers. its recent forming might have given problems in battle coordination, but it had done excellently, most likely due to Galacticas military tradition, and the previous posting of all ships. Galactica was ready

Construction of freighters based on the new design has begun. Limited numbers will be produced.
The grav sheath is being put into service, in all frontline fleets and new ships. Ships further behind the border and with no mission will have delayed fitting to speed up fitting where it is needed.
Galactica uses fusion power cores to power its ships, and currently they are bulky, mass intensive things, mainly because of the radiation shielding used. It would be possible to fit an antimatter reactor in the same amount of room, for much greater power, but that would bring along added danger, and would conflict with many current Galactica doctrines. The recent research into improved anti-matter containment has, however, lead to improved radiation containment systems. Therefore research is begun into adding gravitic containment system to the fusion power cores. Not only will it reduce the mass of the unit, it will allow higher core temperatures(giving more efficiency, thus higher power output), and less chance of radiation leak. ETA:6 posts
The grav sheath newly fitted on missles was designed to disperse energy, or redirect it in a different direction, or bounce mass off. The scientists theorised that the device could also focus energy, giving a higher output for the same amount of power. Therefore, research has begun on a grav lens, to be fitted to the Laser Frigate for testing. It will allow far greater focusing of the beams, reducing energy spillage into space, thus giving more damage, as well as a better range. The improvement won't be a quantum leap, but it will allow for greater tactical flexibility, and the improvement in firepower will help combat the feds. The greater precision brougth about by the focusing will also allow pinpoint accuracy. ETA:10 posts

Kenra had entered Eta and had slipped into the Quirdon system. She had disguised her ship and it's number, so the computer would register it as some other ship. Soon she was heading down onto Quirdon.
The diplomats to the Confeds went back to there ships and took off towards Ross with there new information. Now they just had to wait for the recorders from the Galactica side to come back to Ross.

The 8th Galactic Fleet had just received the final shipment of newly upgraded missles, complete with grav sheaths. It set course for its target.
In another part of the galaxy, the defence force COs in Diudir and Mark had also received their new missle shipments. They set course for Chak, complete with newly built ships. The Combined fleet was over 350 ships strong, more than enough to deal with the fixed defences in Chak, especially with the upgraded missles. Any reinforcements would take too long to change the battle with the defences already in the system.

In Azdgari, the commanding Admiral recieved the reports of the incoming Lazerus' with interest. He sent off a message, ordering 3 of them to wormhole in right next to the planets, fire all Heavy Thoron Beams at the shield generators on each planet, which would either destroy them completely, or destroy much of the Confederates remaining shield strength. They where then to retreat to the Galactica fleet, launching all mines towards the Command Station. The remaining 2 Lazerus' where to wormhole in in a support position, ready for the other Lazerus' to retreat towards them. Galactica would provide long range missle support to destroy any Confederate ships trying to block the Lazerus'
The 8th Galactic fleet was now mere moments from its target. DSN-4386. It had 2000 ships, all with the latest hardware and software upgrades. Its units came from Eta Cassiopea, having been pulled out after the Senns decree. A portion of the ships had gone to reinforce the heavily defended points leading to Eta Cassiopea in western Voinian space to ensure the Confederates could not do the same. The Confederates could have no surprise attack on the Galactica systems, ships waiting in Eta Cassiopea to alert forces in the Milky Way by quick activation of the Spatial Fold.
2 seconds before arrival, freighters erupted into DSN-4386, and exploded. Any minefield that might be their was wiped out, and if their wasnt one, the freighters still blinded sensors for a few precious seconds. The 8th fleet entered the system hot on the heels of the freighters, and began saturation bombardment of the ships in the system, using sensor data transmitted by the freighters before they exploded. As sensors stabilised, the targeting came ever more accurate, and the fleet retreated out of range of the fixed defences. The new grav sheath smashed througb the disruption webs, rendering them useless. The moons shielding soon began to crack under the massive onslaught, stopping it reinfroceing the ships shields. The ships didnt fare much better. The Confederate forces where outnumbered by over 8-1. The size differential changed quickly in Galacticas favour.
3 systems over, Kelmaon had just come under attack. 1350 ships arrived from Emalghion, hot on the heels of several freighters who had wiped out the minefield in the system(or if no minefield, yet another large shockwave anyway). They also proceded to retreat from the fixed defences weapons range, and the Confederate fleet found itself dying, ever quicker. The Confederate forces where outnumbered by over 5-1, and the difference just kept getting larger.

A small engine and onboard computer were being installed on the Hinoran Fighter. It would not be long now... ---------- Grunadulater looked at the energy very carfully. The computer was showing its atoms and how they were put togeather. "Bring me another sample."Grundy was standing on the moutain that had the Phosphironite in it. On the other side was the ever lasting lightning storm. Grundy got the sample he needed from one of his friends that had come with him. He plugged it into the computer and put the discharge clamps on the gun. He discharged it and he computer beeped. He looked at it. He made the atom flow back up in slow motion. When the computer came to where the energy discharged, he saw what had happened. The atoms had changed from pure electricity to laser energy. Galactica had finally compiled all data on its history, and it now sent if off to the Sijak. It detailed Galactcias begginings, the Voinians, the IA, the Igadzra, the remaining UE population, left behind by its so called leaders, the Zidagar, also abandonded, the Miranu, joining for the trade oppertunities, the Azdgari and Odine following the rest of the galaxy. It contained the rise of the Confederate Alliance, from their treacherous begginings as mercenaries, grabbing off several planets who had been the most supportive of Galacticas formation. It showed how militants among the Azdgari worlds grabbed control with their secretly built fleet. It had the attack of the Prylak, and Galacticas selfless defence of the Milky Way, losing its fleet in the procces, and the most powerful station ever built at the time, and how the Mercanary Alliance sent no help, but rather went to conquer the soveriegn Azdgari people, and then proceed to grab off worlds Galactica could no longer defend due to its defence from the Prylak.
The datafiles contained records of recent battles, including the liberation of northern Voinian space, and preliminary views of the battles to free the Azdgari once again.
Among the many datafiles, Galactica included records of social change, showing how races once dominated by the old Voinian Empire had been set free as citizens of Galactica, and who where all productive elements of society now. It showed cities with every race in the Milky Way thriving together.
Vid pictures showing the destruction of Zidagar layed testament to the Confederate policy of destroying what it could not have, while accompanying vids showed Galacticas use of EMP warheads to disable enemy facilities.
Pictures showed the destruction of Galactica facilities and cities caused by rebels incited by the Confederation, and the results of Galacticas response to such terrorists. Wiped out by pinpoint bombardment, and rebuilding of that which had been destroyed.
OOC:And no, no recent proof of Galactcia having wiped an entire planet out. Feds never took Emalghia, so Galactica never blew things up. And for those who say Galactica also wiped out Zidagar, please note no one has any proof, while we have lots of records of EMP warheads being used in that encounter.

Svass Station is comparable to the Old Galactica Prime Station, but it is believed it is time to upgrade it even more. Therefore, fitting of large Heavy Thoron Beams is to begin. They will be kept inside large cargo bays, ready to deploy when needed. While the beams need a seperate power source, their is plenty of room on Svass Station to fit stuff in. Along with the upgrade, similar enhancements already being made to other stations will be done, albiet scaled up. ETA:6 posts(only one station, but it's very big, and I'm putting a lot on)

Back in Eta Cassiopea, a large amount of the old Skraine Warfleet forces were assembled at Haru'El. Firebolt Frigates,Firestorm Missile Cruisers and Flare Gunboats were being refitted for service in the Skraine Interstellar Police Forces,so the fleet consisted mainly of Fireblade BattleCruisers and Spark Light Fighters and a large amount of Generation-I Plasma-based warships.
The Cempak V mining colony was complete,and Hyperlattice crystals were being stockpiled.

In Eta Cassiopea, Galactica set out to colonise another system in the Andornik Cluster, specifically EC-204. Colonisation will be slow to start with, but will increase dramatically when the EC-213 colony is fully operational, which will be very soon. the system contains several asteroid belts, all with very rich mineral supplies. The single habitable planet in the system is slightly at risk from asteroids impacting, so therefore a heavy duty shield will be installed first. Construction of an orbital station to proccess the minerals and provide firepower to knock down incoming asteroids will be built at the same time.
OOC:I couldnt find anyone colonising that system, but if it's been claimed, Galactica colonises the Ek'Ra'Thros system instead. And as far as I can make out, the EC-204 system nicely cuts the 2 fed systems in the cluster apart. Oops.
In the Milky Way, Galacticas forces where deep in battle. The Confederat fleets where outnumbered wherever a battle was on.
And unluckily for the Confederats, Galactica had hardly begun.

All other building projects and techs were halted for the village. The Villigers worked all day and finally made it possible to live in. With a few adgustments, the village would be perfect. ---------- The Voinian Frigate slowly began its transformation, and after an hour, it was a ship again. The engines groned as the ship lifted off the ground, but it was running fine. The ship shot into hyperspace.
The Frigate arived in the EC-214 system. It had 4 planets and one planet had 5 moons. There was only one habital planet, and it was named New Krotun. As the Frigate decended, it sent a message bouy to transmit to any ship that entered the system. "Be advised that this system and its planets are property of the Hinwar Colonisation Group." The Frigate then took off for the Cempak IV system.

In Cempak IV,the Skraine greeted the ancient Hinwar frigate,and tried to find the proper landing beacon interfaces for a ship that old. Finally they guided the battered ship down to land. In Chak, the Galactica forces have obliterated most of the fixed defences, and have been bombarding the planetary shields, which will fall soon, at which point troops will be landed, backed up by orbital EMP strikes, and air burst gravitonic warheads.
The Mark and Diudir systems have now received reinforcements from systems deeper inside Galactica space, ensuring any attacks on them will fail.
