Yeah, it's an interesting idea, but I think the boxing-in-thing won't work, since no matter how long a beam stays onscreen, it always keep originating on your ship Sorry if you meant it another way than I understood it.
Personally I have always wanted a weapon with a bit more range than any others: similar to a phase cannon, perhaps, but with extra range and decreased damage. Perhaps it could be an igadzra(sp?) weapon, though since I don't usually work for them, I would prefer it if it were miranu or zachit. On a slightly off-topic note, is there any way to buy more than 10 tons of cargo at once? I know that in EV you can buy up to 50 of any outfit at once by holding option and control (or is it command and control...). I was wondering if that would work for outfits in EVO, for cargo in EVO, or for cargo in EV. On well, good luck on the plug!

I had another idea, but I don't think it will work:
An amoeba(sp?) ship. The default ship has an amoeba bay, with many more amoeba's in it, with a rather long reload time (1 min?). Anyway, the idea is that if you fight it, it splits in half (lets out 1 fighter). After another minute, BOTH these split in half (each releasing another fighter). So basically the number of ships doubles every minute.
The problems are: I'm not sure if your fighters CAN release fighters of their own. I'm fairly sure that if they can, they'll all release one immediately, meaning that the number of ships gets VERY big VERY quickly.

Your fighters certainly can release their own fighters, just give them the bay, but you're right that they will multiply very quickly to the maximum ship count in any given system

Yea, i kind of did that by mistake one time, making a dreadnought in original EV, I was trying to make the confed cruiser the dreadnought, and confed intercepters into v. fighters, but i made a mistake somewhere, and when i tried to play it, the cruiser was normal, but the interceptors spit out more and more intercepters, and had like 18 proton turrets and killed me in my kestrel in like 5 seconds flat.
I was also thinking, making a natural disaster like in frozen heart, with a black hole ship, that is incredibly slow, but does more damage the closer you are, and also has a very long ranged, very powerful tractor beam.. it worked ok but i kind of lost the plug i made it on.. i can probably make it again tho.

About the amoeba(sp?) ship, I heard about a plugin that did that on this board, but haven't played using it. As for weapon ideas, you could have a weapon that does little damage but has a very large impact, which would be useful for warships or freighters that want to knock fighters off of their tail. This would probably be best as a bomb, but it might also work as a fast missle.

I had a stroke of genius last night. my plug will include dark station, my plug will add another station a system or two away, that is a bounty hunting faction, that is sworn enemies of dark station and all renegades. the player would have several missions of guarding the station from renegades, stealing and helping design techs, and finally, making an offensive against dark station. probably could make it really big and take on all of the renegades in the south tip...
now, if i could only program missions...

Just think to ask the permission of Samurai (the coordinator and uploader of dark station) before doing this. As a contributor of DarkStation, I agree, but it's personal.

I haven't tested thoroughly with the EVO 1.0.2 AI, but under 1.0.1 and earlier, I found that the AI doesn't use bombs very intelligently. That's why, in Secession, the Raptor Bombs are actually an unguided projectile (like a rocket) with a speed of zero - I found that it just worked much better for the AI that way. But your results may vary.

Well, this is actually a question, sinse I can't register for a username with Ambrosia right now (DAMMIT): So, after I put the plug-in (There can only be one in there at a time right??) in the EVO Plug-Ins folder, do I need to click on the plug-in to start the game? Or the game icon itself? Or does it matter??
