Let him spy. Just make him either get less or pay for it (stop work on other things, etc)
------------------ Is the answer to this question 'no'? Chaos to the enemies of the Azdgari
OOC: No stealing technologies or ships AT ALL.
Okay?

Paladin's scoutship lands on Histiri Station and Paladin himself waits there for Thunder.
------------------ Don't play with changing names: Esponer - 130 posts Paladin - Nearly 100 posts Sylver - 1 posts
No, that isnt realistic, but not that much. maybe 1 tech.
No!
You haven't even RESEARCHED the ability to steal, and the Odine are not physically built for stealing.
Where they came from, there was constant war. Physically they are built for combat.
Why not? Espionage is a legitimate part of warfare. If you guys can invent incredible technolgies at such a blistering pace, at least let me steal some of 'em! I admit that that post was a little bit extreme, but Odine are natural spies. How 'bout if I don't steal the Phased Rocket, the Starlance, and the Citadel Class Station designs? Would that be all right?

To:Samurai I have to disagree. The security measures on an IA station are impossible to break through for anyone, as you cant just dock with one of them. Cloaked ships are detected(coutesy of tachyon scanners), and you cant just walk in(or crawl thorugh air vents) to secure areas. Having just guards is silly, so entry to really secure areas is protected by a wealth of scanners, and you need to be authroized to get it. With computers, and humans watching over. And you cant just sneak in with someone else who is authorized. These stations are predominantly military, although they do have civilian section. And only an idiot has secure networks linked up to networks outside.
The other thing is the Phase cloak is a one off thing. It needs massive power, and a lot of phase crystals. Since the IA wont be building anymore, it'd only be on IA capital system. with buckyball armour, you cant just get ahold of everything needed to make it. It is a composite of more than one material. And as for phase rockets, the IA doesnt have those, that's the Ziddies.
I dont see how the Odine could have gotten near an IA station, weapons would have been targetd on them before they entered an IA system. They wouldnt have been able to get anywhere on the station.
Basically, you seemed to have thought the IA was very lax on its security. It's not. Since the stations are its power base, it would be very stupid to let just anyone get near them. I have to say you wouldn't have been able to get any of these. And the stuff the voinians also have, would be protected by tachyon scanners(installed by IA), and the Igadzra are even more security concious than the IA.

If you remember, he is allies with me, and therefore has access to my spies and spy training. My race is the best at espionage. Let him have 1 or 2 things (RMA was right though, none from him)
And remember that I have Matter Density Detectors, and that RMA has been trading technology with the Igadzra and Voinians, so that they have tachyon sensors too.
The only people you can steal off are the Miranu and the Zidagar. And then again, Rima might have a very good reason why you can't steal off her, and the Miranu don't have anything - we haven't even shared anything with them.
You're going to lose, Arada Pilot / Samurai, and that isn't a reason to start cheating. If you're going to lose, you're going to lose. These things happen when you have 3 sides - two of them make friends.
If you'd noticed, BattleDoctor started it all. You could have won yourself if you'd looked for more allies.........
Heh. I was offline for 1 day. in that time, voins and IA allied w/ you. we were hoping to have miranu, IA, and voins on our side in the beginning.
Message to miranu governmental council, encrypted <We have an offer for you. We will provide you with a competent leader, and help your society get back on its feet. All we request is access to your military facilities. Thank you, Azdgari emperor.>
message to jade, encrypted <We may have a job for you. We have made an offer to the miranu people that they cant refuse. I would like you to become commander of that area when they respond.>
The miranu pretty much have to accept this, as their civilization relies on it.
Woohoo, I'm back. I see now that there are more than 125 posts on this topic. The last time I checked (Thursday morning) there were 41. Would anyone care to summarize for me the events of the past few days? Once this has been done, I will continue as the Voinians. The Voinians have completed many of their projects since the last time I posted, due to thee large amount of game time that has passed. So, could someone please summarize this for me? I really don't wanna have to read through everything...

I find that little remark about me cheating because I'm losing extremely insulting, Silverdragon. You had not, before my post, made any rule whatsoever concerning espionage. I naturally assumed that it was legal. I continued to debate the point, in hopes of you realizing your mistake, (in my mind it's a mistake, anyhow,) but that's no reason to start branding me as a cheater or a sore loser. I accept your moderation. Shut up.
To RMA: Thanks for being civil, anyhow. I believe I misread your post about the cloaking device. I thought that you had created an easily mass-produced cloaking device, able to slip by MDDs. Sorry 'bout that. About the Citadel Station thing... yeah I guess I assumed you were sloughing off your security. I didn't think you could detect Odine cloaks. If you couldn't, I assumed the crew could find a way to sneak in, like through the garbage chute or something? (Star Wars!) Again, sorry.
Rima sends a message back to Paladin I will join the meeting.I will be In a Zidara.Probably 6 fighters as an escort. It will be a regular Zidara without the additional tech.Hopefully that will be alright. ~end~ The Z.S.S. Savior was almost finished and many Zidgar had already gave suggestions on how to make the civilian quarters more comfortable.Rima was amused and put there suggestions in a pile. She immediately also got a Zidara ready for the meeting.
------------------ I'm not dead yet.In fact I feel pretty good!" I cut off your arm!""It's only a flesh wound!" "Bless this holy hand grenade..."
Hmm... nobody wants to give me a summary of what happened while I was gone? Okay then... If there is anything very pressing that I must know about then notify me, and if any of my posts don't make sense with something that has happened, notify me. I hope you all managed to ignore the Voinians as I requested.
---------------------------------------
Pokoren Station has been completed. It is heavily shielded and armored, but has relatively little amounts of weapons on it. It is armed with railgun mine launchers, RIMs, and Enhanced Neutron Turrets. It will mostly rely on a large fleet stationed in the Pokoren system for defense. The V.E.S. Kelmaon is still guarding it for now.
A new ship, same design as the V.E.S. Voinia, has been started to be constructed, It is already 1/3 done. It will be called the V.E.S. Borb. Also on the subject of shipbuilding, construction of Minelayer class (isn't that an inventive name?) ships is in progress.
Hey, Thunder and RMA, does the Voinian-Igadzra-IA alliance have any new techs? RMA- could you please fill me in on what the alliance has been doing while I was gone? I really don't want to read through everything. ------------------ "...Until next time, take care of yourselves, and each other." Jerry Springer

thunder, earth was destroyed
The IAS Triad returned to IA HQ, and recieved its final outfitting. It now has dual primary, secondry, tertiary, and low level backups for shields. Armour has been layered in more layers, and energy absorbtion fields are intergrated. Engines have been fine tuned, and the armour cage now reduces engine power less. Gravitonic lances have also been fine tuned, and they now fluctuate to each end of the gravitational scale, to rip apart whatever they come into contact with. A squadron of IA Fighters now resides in the main structure of the IAS Triad, and 2 more squadrons in the armour cage.
The Heavy Cruiser production run has been completed. 1 of them is now in every system, and 3 are assigned to escort the IAS Triad when needed. The 3 assigned to the IAS Triad are outfitted with normal cloaks, as well as fine tuned gravitational engines to hide the ships mass. Their is also a roaming fleet of 2 more Heavy Cruisers for any assualt force. They have larger fighter bays, with slightly reduced main weaponry. IA Fighters now provide masses of mobile fire power insystem, and with their energy torps can rip anything to shreds at close range.
The Light Cruiser fleet size has been massively reduced to provide materials for the newer, more advanced ships. The Light Cruisers are now relagated to supplying long-range weaponry for fighter squadrons, and their primary weaponry has been reduced to fit more on, and concentrate on close contact weapons otherwise.
The IAS Triad is going out on final manauvers before its first major battle to ensure all systems work.
Work is done into updating targeting systems to use gravitonic lances to wipe out enemy munitions more effectively than at current. Damage done to enemy munitions will range from just pushing them off course, to destroying them completely, depending on the situation. ---------- OOC:To BattleDoctor: Main new tech for the IA is the energy torp, a very short range, high damage, energy weapon. IA also has its heavy cruisers complete at last, and the IAS Triad is ready for battle. Igadzra have their destroyer ready, and in production. I ordered the Voinians to look into an improved railgun. So that should be ready by now as well. It'll launch spacemines much faster, and also be a bit smaller. Not much else you can change about it. Everybody is also getting ready for the huge battle coming up.
And there is a UE-Igadzra tech sharing system around, perhaps even a sort of alliance between us. We're combining the Hirogen Blaze and Hirogen Beam, and everyone on our side shall have it.
PS: The technology stealing thing wasn't mentioned, but I'm of the opinion that it would be better without it. I'm sorry to make an ingame decision, but I have.
PS: Arada Pilot, I agree with you with the Miranu. You can have them, but remember that the IA are very close to them already.
PS: BattleDoctor, to make the game easier for my enemies I've deleted some of my technologies. Read back to find out more. And check up on Jade's technologies - it's important to know about them, I think.
-----------------------
The U.E.S Sephiroth is getting along, with 30 cubes completed now. Phased rockets and StarLances will comprise of it's standard secondary weapons, and blaze turrets in large numbers <honestly, larger than you would have though for a ship 4km long> will give it it's main power.
It can move it's 84 sections around quickly, and do anything it wants with them, really.
It's special weapon...........Hmm....... Did I give it one? It's GOT to have one.
How about this <they'll be a hirogen beam too when it's done> CUBE ROCKET - One cube, as in 1/84, of the whole spaceship, flies at the enemy. It's not really munitions, so they aren't really easy to destroy. It overloads, causing, well, LOTS of damage. It's MUCH larger than anything other type of rocket, and using the explosives from phase rockets...... It's good! About 8 cubes in the whole ship are capable of being proper rockets, but any can kamikaze themselves.
RMA-- You mentioned some huge battle... what huge battle? SilverDragon-- Is our non-agression pact still in place?
-----------------------------------------
The V.E.S. Borb's construction is going along nicely. It is now a little more than half done, and to increase speed, many old, un-refitted frigates are being scrapped to help in construction. This will for the most part not affect much, because they were pulled off patrol in western Voinian space. The V.E.S. Voinia is not on active duty yet, it is resting in the Voinia system.
Improved railgun research is going well. Scientists have mostly got the design and systems of it done, but they are still trying to find a way to make it smaller.
Scientists are also exploring the possibility of expanding neutron weaponry. There are already neutron cannons & turrets, but Voinian fleet command would like to be able to have a neutron beam to mount on it's largest ships. It would do immense damage, but be very, very large, and take up tons of power. This should be an easy plan to implement, the Voinian fleet already has neutron technology, this will just be the next step in it.
(This message has been edited by BattleDoctor (edited 04-02-2001).)
OOC to Battledoctor and Paladin: It's not really an alliance that the Igadzra have with the UE, we're simply cooperating to combine the turretted beam and the Hirogen blaze, and everyone on both sides will have the resulting weapon. The non agression pact between our two sides does seem to be becoming more friendly, though, but not quite up to the level of an alliance...
Continuation: The Igadzra scientists arrive in the Mavs system and dock at Histori station to begin work on the cooperative project with the UE. They note that Thunder will come if the other races decide a conference of sorts, as suggested by Paladin, is necessary, and decide to come as well. For now, though, they are ready to get down to work on the Hirogen Beam...
------------------ A hatch opened up and the aliens said, "We're sorry to learn that you soon will be dead, But though you may find this slightly macabre, We prefer your extinction to the loss of our job."
A conference? Hmmm, maybe. Sounds interesting...
The Neutron Beam research is progressing well. Though the weapon is not complete, a few things are already known about it: The Beam will do gigantic damage, but no other weapons can be firing when it fires, and shield power must be slightly drained when it fires. It will be mounter on a massive turret, and have a 90 degree arc of forward fire. When complete, they will only be able to be fitted to the V.E.S. Voinia (and other vessels like it), and stations. Current plans are only to fit them to the V.E.S. Voinia and the V.E.S. Borb.
The V.E.S. Borb is about 2/3 complete now. It should be pretty much done by the end of today (real time).
Paladin, or whatever you're called these days, I just read a post from Sunday morning of yours asking if the Voinians could establish a military presence in the Crescent. So...
<message, Alpha-3 encrypted> To:Paladin, UE From: BattleDoctor, Voinian (In regards to your suggestion that the Voinian Empire would establish a military presence in the Crescent, we agree, on the following terms. We can bring up to 40 warships at a time through your space, fighters to accompany them, and as many supply ships as we want. Becasue of this, you can escort the convoys through your space in any manner you like.) <end message>
A Voinian fleet begins massing at Pokoren.

<<Message to Battledoctor of the Voinians, Encryption Sequence Ch-7 Active>>
I will allow those ships to pass, although either the V.E.S Voinia or Borb may only come alone. Also, I hope that our "treaty" stands without betrayal.
I hope you come to the conference.
Paladin out.
OOC: I am considering ended this when 1 of the 3 powers is destroyed, so that the remaining will not have to fight each other.
------------------------
The U.E.S Sephiroth is now 50 cubes complete, and an accident with a calculator had given me the wrong figures - the total cubes is 64. The cube rockets will be left until later, although scientists have been thinking about them.
Although these cube rockets don't sound hi-tech, they are fast, heavily shielded and armoured, and carry an enormous explosive charge - enough to reduce the largest ships to rubble. However, firing a cube lowers the number of turrets on the Sephiroth by one, as each will have it's own turret.
The turrets for the U.E.S Sephiroth haven't been built, as hopefully the advanced Zidagar type will be ready soon.
