Hello, friend, I wish to ask for your aid. We will be willing to provide you with a ship outfitted with the latest in technology, custom built to your request, to serve your fleet or be your new personal ship, (although I have heard rumors of the Red Horizon's power). Also, you will be a ble to fit any other ships of yours with our outfits.
Please confirm our agreement with a response. I will then give you a mission. You will be paid well.
AP out

Chaos to the enemies of the Azdgari

Great post, Carnotaur.

But I'm afraid you're dead already. Earth's a little, well, hot, at the moment.
In fact, the whole Sol system isn't in a very good shape.

So, unless you're ship can withstand a lot of heat and make UE warships appear out of an
almost completely empty star system, I think you better change it to Paaren.

At least the Paaren system has a colonized planet. 🙂

PS: Then again, Earth's a great vacation spot for any satanists playing this
game. Anybody? Come on, I need some more money!

(Arada Pilot was nice enough to rid me of ten billion stupid civilians and the
human homeplanet. The new capital is Paaren, which is slightly cooler.)

Paladin, the Rapid Intersect Missiles were a tech that I got from the IA. RMA researched them. They are perfectly valid.

(I have noticed that your forces have not been engaging mine in combat recently, following your ambush of my cruisers and your attack on Vorik. I am willing to consider that these may have been brash, poorly thought out attacks. I am giving you a chance at peace. I want to sign a cease fire with the UE. Please respond.)

Scientists at Isled have been mighty bored recently. With the completion of the Neutron beam project, they have had nothing to do. Looking for something to occupy him and his crew, the lead researcher at Isled has begun a new project. Isled is now researching defensive technologies. They are working on developing new point defense systems, consisting of anti-missile missiles, several layers of shields, and small turrets. They are also looking to design a new ECM.

It takes a while to organise a fleet properly.

Paladin out.

A huge UE fleet including the 3 supercruisers moves to attack Pokoren. The Z.S.S
Marathon stays behind with some fighters to hit in a second wave.

Ok, Paladin, I'm assuming that I can detect this fleet...

One of BattleDoctor's aides rushes into his office, looking worried.
"What is it, K'lom?"
"S-Sir... it's the United Earth... they're about to attack us!"
"Where? When?" demands BattleDoctor
"We just received a message saying something about a fleet... long range scanner sweeps indicate a massive force heading for the frontier!"
"(insert expletive here)! Those barbarians! They must be attacking Pokoren; it's the only logical target. Order all available fleet craft in the area to go to Pokoren. Can we get the V.E.S. Borb there soon?"
"Erm... no, sorry sir. The Borb is undergoing repairs... someone spilled some soda on the computer core and-"
"Alright, alright. We've got a large fleet there already, and the V.E.S. Kelmaon. Tell the station to power up its neutron beam and get ready to be attacked."

A huge fleet of Voinian ships jumps into the Pokoren System. It is an awesome sight to behold. The newly refitted ships are truly a force to be reckoned with, and the new Heavy Fighter Mk.2's are a huge improvement over previous fighters. Behind the masses of Cruisers and Frigates, the Dreadnought V.E.S. Kelmaon sits ready.

Battledoctor:
You don't have time to move your full army in. You get 1-3 days warning, and
it takes 3 days for a cruiser to move through one system.

---------------------

<<Message to Arada Pilot, Ecnryption Sequence Chi-11 Active>>

If you have any of those missiles that destroyed Earth, then please fire them at
Isled. This will hopefully help us collapse the Voinians. And ready some ships,
put them in cloak, and bring them over just above Kelmaon. Voinia might have a
few visitors soon........

A large number of UE fighters come into Pokoren first. They split and move either
side to flank the enemy before the main force comes in - all but the supercruisers
and 18 UE cruisers, and a small force that accompanies Rima's Z.S.S Marathon.

The Omega ships each deploy 2000 Stellar to stellar missiles <every STS on the ship>
and have them come with them through hyperspace. Their target is the station - 4000
missiles to hit one station. Boom!

The supercruisers and 18 UE cruisers come in from behind later on, and Rima's
Marathon with escorts will come in in a few minutes.......

Battledoctor, you take the next part of the battle.

------------------------

Work on the U.E.S Garland is about 35% done. The main body of all 64 cubes is
nearly finished, but they don't have any engines or anything like that yet.

The plans for the UE Aviariom are complete. I'll explain the ship next turn.

Paladin, I remember that you said you got rid of the STS missiles... how do you have them back now? And what is the Marathon?

BattleDoctor watches the battle begin on his personal computer. The V.E.S. Borb is out for a while due to some idiot and a can of soda. The V.E.S. Voinia, however...

UE fighters jump into the system and begin to harass the Voinian flanks. A few frigates are caught off guard and are easily destroyed by the nimble UE fighters. The Cruisers start to get organised, and unleash a horrifying barrage of Neutron fire. UE fighters are dropping like flies, until they retreat beyond the limited range of the Cruisers. Frigates begin to move forward at the UE fighters, but they are easily defeated by being isolated and outcircled.
Then come the Voinian Heavy Fighter Mark 2's. They come screaming out of their motherships and engage the UE fighters. The UE fighters are caught off guard when these new Voinian fighters come flying at them, much more maneuverable than old fighters, and using Blaze cannons (I got them from the IA, don't worry Paladin) to swarm them under and destroy them.
Now the UE fighters are occupied with the Voinian small ships. The Voinian captains are sitting there, thinking they're all cool, when 18 UE Cruisers jump in! The Voinians were not expecting this... the bulk of their force is still not there yet. A few Voinian Cruisers and Frigates die instantly under the combined power of the cruisers. Fortunately, the Minelayer ships are able to react quickly. Each of the 25 minelayers deploy their railguns and open fire on the UE Cruisers. Mine after mine smashes at high speeds into the hulls of the 2 leading Cruisers. One is nearly disabled, and the other takes heavy damage as well. The rest of the UE warships back off for a second, fearing another deadly salvo of mines. The Voinians seem to be doing well, for the moment...

Paladin, please continue... I like the way we're handling this battle.

Carnotaur, the supercruisers have cloak detectors.

And you haven't taken any time to research the cloak.

And you didn't specify that you had that fleet.

And you said you had only 2 Igazras.

And Rima's not onboard the Marathon.

And that post is revoked.

Sorry.

Plus, the Miranu-UE void is taken up by the Imperium Alliance.

Plus, what superior weapons?

Plus, if you can't do any better than that then you're out of the game.

------------------
Battledoctor:
Yeah, I got rid of the STSs. But Rima kept using them - I didn't know she intended
to use them, and planned to keep techs she was using.

I hope you don't mind.

Also, no, I'm revoking the post completely. Carnotaur's post makes no sense.

The Marathon is one of Rima's three superships. Read back to learn more.

IC: Rima takes the STS's off all of her ships.

ooc: there.

Paladin, you got rid of the STS, but Rima still has them, right? So the station is still there, because it was your ships that fired the missiles, just like you said.

Wait, nevermind, I just read Rima's editing and she got rid of her STS's too. So the station is still still there, even if she had fired.

I dislike squabbling about details. Lets try to avoid things like this.

I am anxious for Battle.
Please hurry up finishing my ship!
Or just arm a H. Fighter with some good weopons. I hate just watching battles!
<REDchigh over and out>

------------------
The difference in
insantiy and ingenious is
measured just by success.

Scientists on Isled have completed Red's new ship, and it has been shipped to Svass, where Red awaits it.
It is a Frigate, with the new shields, some buckyball armor, and extra engines and turn jets crammed in, so it is way more maneuverable. It is a formidable ship, but due to the need for engine space, it has little more than stock weaponry. It has 3 enhanced Neutron turrets, and some Meteor Missiles complete with a launcher. It also has a mine laying system, and 6 enhanced mines on board. Of course, it has an auto-sabotage system.
I hope the maneuverability makes up for the lack of heavy firepower.

Paladin, why doesn't my description of the battle work? I edited out the part where I mentioned Carno's post. And no, you don't have STS's.

After sending a message back to his shockwave platforms a few systs back, The azdgari emperor leads his fleet into hyperspace, setting course for the raging battle.
OOC: Shockwaves are the new name for the weaps that destroyed earth
Carno, I destroyed earth with shockwaves. They cracked the crust and forced the UE to evac. This was back when we were enemies.

My fleet:
1 heavily upgraded enhanced azd arada
2 Vipers
12 Azd warships
24 Azd Aradas
4 shockwaves aimed at the planet
will arrive a biit late, but not much due to the fact that I was near thetre and i have fast ships

Note on shockwaves to all who werent here:
a shockwave is a small computer operated ship, much like a missile but not as easily destroyed or evaded. They are the fastest objects in the niverse, and have effecient engines and enough fuel to cross 60% of the galaxy. Because of their speed, they cannot be accurately launched at ships, except very large ones. They do not have a very powerful explosive warhead, but they are designed to set off a huge shockwave. The way they destroyed earth was that they impacted the planetary hields and the shock shattered the planets crust.

Rima finishes work on Pashaga type 2.She begins work on the mine type which will now be put back to 3 weeks(posts). The Z.S.S. Energy is complete. It's equipped the same as Marathon was with the added Pashaga type 2.She hears about the mercenary Carnotaur and wonders why that name sounds familiar.

ooc: Carnotaur, why are you obbsessed with kidnapping my character. You did that in Red Horizon too.

(This message has been edited by Rima (edited 04-08-2001).)

Sorry, Battledoctor. Forget that part. It was old - before you edited it all
out.

But a couple of things:

The UE Fighters are supposed the bring your fleet out of line. They don't engage
and stay out of range. Sorry for not making that clear.

All the UE Fighters combined can do a lot of damage with those Hirogen Blazes.

And the UE Fighters have all the Crescent upgrades from Rima - speed included.

Does it say there I only have 18 UE Cruisers? And you haven't mentioned the
supercruisers. The 18 UE Cruisers are escorts for the supercruisers.

But I'll go with you anyway.

---------------------------

The 3 supercruisers move in before the last UE Cruiser goes. The Voinian fleet almost
seems to physically shake.

The neutron beam from the station begins smashing into them, but while the U.E.S
Sephiroth occupies the main fleet the others go forward. The U.E.S Excalibur
incinerates most of Pokoren Station with the Dark Matter Launcher - including the
weapons, and the U.E.S Paladin locates the Kelmaon and attacks it.

Then the main UE force comes in - over fifty UE Cruisers and more fighters. They
engage the Voinian forces before the supercruisers suffer major damage.

Suddenly the tide has changed. The U.E.S Paladin begins to wear down the armour
on the Kelmaon with multiple blasts from phased rockets (from Rima) and the U.E.S
Excalibur joins the main fleet, firing off StarLances, hitting Voinian ships hard.

Mines are constantly layed, and many UE Cruisers explode, but the supercruisers
seem to turn the tide, always ready to destroy any Voinian warships that take any
kills.

And then......

It happened so suddenly, that there was no time to change the plans. The UE ships
were engaged in combat, and didn't see it coming.

The V.E.S Borb warped in, and smashed directly into the U.E.S Sephiroth. The
Sephiroth scattered apart, and the various remaining pieces began to warp out - but
many were destroyed by the V.E.S Borb before 34 cubes of the 64 escaped.

The UE formed their ranks again. The Kelmaon was seriously weakened, but it was now
2 supercruisers against 2.

Over to Battledoctor...........

Oh, sorry paladin. Should I just do that whole battle post all over again?

And Arada Pilot -- there is no planet is Pokoren

Note- I'm not saying we should stop the battle, but I am going to lose big time since the UE can combine forces with the Azdgari and fight, and neither of my allies has posted in the last few days, and one of them probably quit. So, basically, the Voinians are srewed.
