The S.S. Esperanto and it's fighter escort were now about halfway between UE and Miranu space, and Thunder was passing the time by watching a news program on the holovid. The current story was about Zidagar refugees finding new lives in Miranu space. Thunder was only mildly interested in this topic, but as he was about to switch the receiver to a different holo-station, a newly updated version galactic map appeared, and zoomed in on the upper crescent. All but two Zidagar systems had been captured, and the remaining two had gone to the Miranu. What shocked Thunder was that Twyus was in Azdgari hands.
"If Twyus, the source of Aligned Crystals, is in Azdgari hands, then why was that Zidagar so eager for me to keep these crystals away from the Azdgari? I mean, the Azdgari could simply mine all the crystals they wanted!" Thunder thought to himself.
Quickly, Thunder went over to his control panel and linked to the hyper-net, accessing the Encyclopedia Galactica, a joint UE-Miranu publication that was one of the best sources of information from across the universe. It contained the knowledge of mankind, plus contributions from the Miranu, and observations of Miranu and UE scoutships. Thunder immediately pulled up the entry for "Aligned Crystal".
On his viewscreen, an image of a cluster of crystals appeared, with some text below. The crystals were a pale shade of blue, definately paler than than his crystal, at least, but were similarly shaped. Plus they were smaller than Thunder's crystal by quite a bit. Reading the text below, Thunder found out why. The text read as follows:
"Aligned Crystals-- A unique mineral found only in the Zidagar system of Twyus. These crystals are used by the Zidagar to produce their phased beamers, their trademark weapon. The technology used to convert these crystals into a weapon is unknown. Every year the Zidagar mine hundreds of tons of these crystals for use on their ships. The crystals range in color from almost clear to pale blue, with the bluer crystals being purer and highly sought after by the Zidagar, plausably because purer crystals make stronger phased beamers. The chemical composition of these crystals is unknown, being classified information..."
The entry went on from there, but Thunder stopped reading. He pulled out his crystal again, holding it up against the ones on the viewscreen. Obviously his was a far deeper shade of blue than those on the screen, and was more than twice as large. Now he knew why the Zidagar man had been so insistent that he take those two crystals. Obviously they were far purer than any Aligned Crystals coming out of the mines, and far larger too. These crystals could be, Thunder imagined, the source for a weapon far more powerful than a phased beamer. That's what the Zidagar man meant by "The fate of the universe may well depend on it." With a weapon like that at their disposal, the Azdgari would become nearly unstoppable. Thunder knew it was more important than ever to see the Zacha got his remaining crystal quickly.
Getting on his comm relay, Thunder sent a message to Outpost Zachit.
MESSAGE TO OUTPOST ZACHIT<<< Encryption sequence confirmed. Level 7 encryption confirmed.
This is Thunder, captain of the S.S. Esperanto (former captain of the S.S. Prism). I am en route to your space, along with a small UE fighter escort. I have on board a crystal that I believe could be the basis for a beam weapon that exceeds even the power of the phased beamer, and I want to give that crystal to the Zacha to research and use. Please send some Zacha officers to meet me on Mira. The sooner you get this crystal, the better it will be for all of us.

I know one of two of these i'm noting are no longer part of this story but i will attempt to contact the majority here anyway: Thunder, Samurai, Alien 5672, and Entropy. As i said i know most of you are involved in this story, however Carnotaur is doing well in both and so could one of you. Also if you do not recieve or desire a main position then there is always room for other players.

MODERATION: Samurai, that beam of yours seems a bit powerful. Both Blaze and Phase Beamer weaponry are rather weak, andI think you'll have to downgrade your weapon a bit. Sure, I have absolutely no problem with it being strong, just not THAT strong. How about the same strength as the Enhanced Photon Beam on the C.R.S. Demon?
Second, I find it hard to believe that you could capture a Voinian Dreadnaught. Very few were ever created, and you never said how you captured it. If you did, the Voinians would be very sure to get it back or destroy it. I will once again make a compromise; you can have the Dreadnaught, but, you got no technology from it, and the armor is only 1,000 units instead of the standard 1,500 armor units. Agreed?

The Rock has exited the New Miran system, the fueling and reshielding process complete. Sources report that the immense rotocannon was being primed for optimal preformance, although the reason for this is unknown. The system the Rock is heading to is also unknown.
The Rock: Size: Large moon Mass: Immense Steering: Abominal Speed: Abominal Shields: 3000 (It's a RENEGADE ASTEROID: they spent huge amounts to prevent it from being destroyed by the Zacha.) Armor: About 7000, if you can breach the shields, Although most of the renegades would be killed, living just under the surface: reducing all its armor would mean entirely destroying it, which is pretty stupid since you'd be blasting awaty at the rock for days on end. Armament: 1 gigantic rotocannon- damage: 800, can only fire once every other minute. A Whole Bunch Of phase turrets: installed for defense before the Rotocannon was built. A Simply Horrifying Amount Of angry pirates in a motley assortment of ships, given additional courage by the excellant Saalian brandy available at the many bars.

We have filled the Ossaki lead position but we would love to have some good independents, etc. Being independent would of course allow you to interact with both sides, have your personal ship, and join a group if you wish later.
If you say so Carno. The beam is about the same strength as the Enhanced Photon beam, but it has a larger power source. (The big blue crystal.) Therefore it does more damage than the Enhanced Photon Beam, but it is huge. Thus we need to mount it on the Dreadnought.
Ahem. I did capture a Voinian Dreadnought during one of REDchigh's attacks on UE space. If you didn't read the post before you joined, I did capture the dreadnought.

How do you know you have a larger power source? I didn't say anything about the inner workings of the Enhanced Photon Beam. Besides, you just violated the terms of the compromise; the beam sounds fine if it is the same strength as the Enhanced Photon Beam. But, I geuss I'll go along with it, but only if it is only stronger by a very very small amount.
BTW, I've decided to have Entropy be co-moderator on this story. He seems to be fair, smart, and knows the rules. I've never seem him do anything outside the rules, or complain about anything.

The C.R.S. Apollyon is now finished, and is now undergoing trial runs. Just as a bit of background information, all Corocian Supercruisers are 5 kilometers long.
(I strongly resent what was said about the Azdgari being evil, we have been at war with the Zidagar for ages and finally had the upper hand so pushed it to its full advantage).
Now the Azdgari Avenger is finished. The Azdgari are increasing the activity of the front with the Igadzra so more ships are being lost on both sides but the Azdgari have a higher income so their ships oses are more replacable.

That says nothing about them not being evil. They're scavengers, plunderers, and nomadic to the point of which it annoys other species... Evil by personality, not actions. Actions merely add to the fact they're evil by conquering a noble race like the Zidagar..

I'll freely give this crystal to you, and all I ask in return is that I am given a single copy of whatever technology you derive from it, if you have enough copies to give me one."

Actually, the latest version of the Corocian Supercruiser (which is still being developed because of some problems) will carry six Corocian Aradas, and ten Corocian Fighters (Crescent Fighters with Photon Cannons). Carnotaur needs these supercruisers because his navy is small even compared to the Zachit and Miranu.

I don't want to do this again, as it doesn't seem right to kill people like this.

The Rock completed its jump: straight at Zachit Station! Surrounded by a fleet of Renegades, including many that were parked on the bar, a sizable number of whomdid NOT recognize why they had just made a jump but DID recognize Zachit ships, and drunkenly pilots stumbled off to their ships to fight. The Rock immediately was assailed by Zachit forces, with laughable results. VERY little damage was done to the moon's heavy shielding, and a recognizable warm glow was forming at the base of the rotocannon... As Zacha and Renegade forces battled in the sky, a different sort of destruction was about to occur.
On Zachit Station, frantic procedures were being taken to exacuate. Zacha personelle ran to their ships to fight, while visiting buisnessmen and diplomats tryed to get on any non-combative ship they could find. Entropy, please revoke that part of your post. If you'll read the stuff Alien and I posted about the meeting between me and Pikera, you'll find that we were on Mira, not Outpost Zachit. As such, we (and our crystal) would be unaffected by the attack.
MODERATION: Thunder, Entropy's action stands. Entropy, edit your post and make it so the crystals were Not left on Zachit Station. Also, are you sure you want to blow up Outpost Zachit, instead of having the Zacha beg for mercy or capturing the Station yourself?
Outpost Zachit attacked with every weapon possible! Rockets, cannons, turrents, mines, ballistas.. everything it had was hurled at the rock...
The Zachit had had it! Every vessal was dispatched wih speed only the Zachit could manage and attacked in a raging storm of Aradas, Fighters, Laziras, and Crescent Warships... Corocian technology couldn't save the renegades now, this was pure skill and fury melded into one unstoppable force headed straight for the steriod-induced renegade vessals.. It was almost impossible to see amoungst the thick storm of pursuit missles, but the Zachit's organization and teamwork kept them together and soon had the upper hand. Zacha forces were ripping through every ship like paper, yet never once did a stray shot hit a friendly vessal... The Renegades soon found themselves in a dire situation.. The Rock was the only member with a winning battle..
