I'll just say it. I'm suprised! The Voinian/Corocian/Adzgari Alliance has done well, though not as fast as I had hoped. The Adzgari has gain a lot of planets, but it seems that the Voinians have only gained maybe three, and gave two to the corocians. ? Seems kinda slow, but I can't complain.
I'm not sure how much money the governments have, but remember. I'm still high commander of the Voinians, and even though I placed people in charge while I'm gone, I can still override anything. <Private message to... um.. whoever controls the Voinians. Carno i guess..> Encrypted, of course! Why don't you build a base in the Eltor system? There are rarely UE ships there, and It would be a good base for espionage being one jump away from Sol. Think about it. Oh, and you're free to be second in command of Voinian order. I know its purely coincidense that a mods gov't always prosper, huh? I'm kidding. <End message>
Oh, and I kinda got into trouble for Hacking AOL, so I'm still offline. I'm working on it, though!
: :redface:ut of character:: Warpgate! I must say, I'm impressed, but you realize of course, the Energy field of a warp gate would spread into nearby systems, and so would be easy to detect.... Still, it is a Genius idea. Must play ARES, huh??

Let me make two things clear:
1-I was only having my secondary character, Borb Jr., control the Voinians while Redcigh was gone. 2-Red, now that you're back, you can control the Voinians again. We'll just say that Borb Jr. is your vice-emporer and that he took over control for a while when you were sick or something (I'm talking about the character you, of course).
Here's the fully updated map: (url="http://"http://www.speakeasy.org/~ljp/carnotaur/dark_tide_map.jpg")http://www.speakeasy...rk_tide_map.jpg(/url)
BTW, Redchigh, I made the Voinians build a base in DSN-9338 instead of Eltor. Eltor is patrolled a lot more now that there is no UE Frontier, and in order to take control of Eltor and actually build a base there, the Voinians need to have a greater presence in that area. A base in DSN-9338 will help them build up a fleet better, and send reinforcements to this fleet. Once the base in DSN-9338 is ready, the fleet is ready, you can attack, capture, and build a station in Eltor.

Thunder looked out over the construction site from on main viewscreen of the S.S. Affirmation. Station Unity didn't look like much yet, only a small assemblage of metal and polymer composite beams, but that would soon change. Over 100 ships were now involved in the construction project, with additional ships arriving every few hours, eager to join the efforts. The Kayans were present in especially large numbers now, with nowhere to call home since the capture of their homeworld by the Renegades, and they were eager to help build a new home for themselves. News of Station Unity had spread quickly, and after recieving a vote of confidence from the Renegades and the protection of a visiting Azdgari warship, the construction fleet was more convinced than ever that they could complete this effort successfully.
Thunder had recently been selected by the construction fleet as the Stationmaster-elect of Unity Station, to take office once it was completed. Needless to say he was honored (and more than a bit surprised, that a young merchant captain like himself had been chosen to lead a trading outpost / safe haven / refugee colony, all combined in one space station. He'd learned a lot more about spacial engineering in the last couple of days than he'd ever wanted to know, but he enjoyed welding together the beams of the station superstructure and helping to integrate the station's computer core. Construction was going well, with freighters regularly coming and going, ferrying construction supplies in from the nearby Strandless world of Feviry, as well as the occasional merchant from UE space, eager to sell much needed commodities to the construction crews. All in all, Thunder had to admit that Station Unity was coming along great.

Titan, Bakka and Eltor are being almost constantly raided by the Voinians. And you seem to realize one problem; Saalia and all of UE space is under attack. As I stated earlier, at least 4 ships are attacking all UE systems. I would also appreciate it if you put more detail into your posts.
Thunder, where is Station Unity?
----------------
The Saalia colony, after being bombarded for an entire day without UE backup fleets arriving, was finally obliterated. The same was the story with Pozdag. Tmidor was now being bombarded heavily by a massive Renegade/Voinian/Azdgari/Corocian force of over 75 ships.
The Voinians, Corocians, and Azdgari who had annihilated Saalia then decided to orbit Saalia for a few days until reinforcements from the attack on Priat arrived. Twelve hours later, thirty ship reinforcements from the attack on Priat arrived. The force of ships (in all, 60+ vessels) orbiting (uninhabited) Saalia then went to the Liat system. The few UE forces there had been withdrawn to Bakka and Eltor, and destroying the few UE ships in the system was easy. Then, the attacking ships began to fire on the station...
--------------
Meanwhile, the Voinians (hope you don't mind this Redchigh) have assembled a large fleet in Dogover. The UE had withdrawn their attacks for the moment and were at that point consontrating only on Bakka and Eltor. The Voinians, realizing the situation was desperate, called for reinforcements from the Renegades, Azdgari, and Corocians. They also asked for the Renegades to attack Huron and Thoso to keep the UE busy while they attacked Eltor and Bakka. The Corocians sent 20 ships to help the Voinians, the Azdgari sent 10 (hope you don't mind that Kiwi), and the Renegades sent and replied....
OOC: Carnotaur - Station Unity is being constructed in the DSN-6849 system.
After extensive preparations the Azdgari make an attack on Mordus. With the overwhelming forces of 35 AWs and the two Supercruisers the planet is swiftley crushed.
Azdgari loses: 2 azdaras
Idadzra loses: 8 Igadzras 29 Igadzra Aradas

Uh, where's that? I can't seem to find it on the map.
BTW, Kiwi, how about only 35 AWs? Mordus is pretty easy to capture, I've done it myself in EVO, and besides, it's a station, not a planet. Stations are easier to capture than planets.
Once the distracting attacks of four or five ships in each system have been obliterated, a large UE fleet jumps into the Saalia system and drives off the remaining attackers. The area around Saalia is secured by UE Forces, and the enemy fleet suffers heavy losses.
The UE supercruiser prototype is finished! It carries 2 bays of specialized UE Fighters, numerous amplified Blaze Turrets, incredibly tough shields and armor, improved limpets, and the piece de resistance , the Terminus Ray. Focused by the UE Power capacitor, it fires a beam of unparralled power. Even a short burst is usually significant to cripple or destroy most vessels. Plans are being laid for its first mission.
No, I don't play Ares. Actually, i make a point not to, though I hear it's a cool game. Is there a warpgate in Ares? If you must know, I got the idea from the movie "Stargate." Very cool movie, BTW.

Samurai, that post of yours was totally illogical. First of all, the Saalia colony has been destroyed, and Saalia has been heavily bombarded. Second, it would not only take time to destroy the raids, but the UE would suffer immense casualties and be in lots of confusion. Thirdly, a fleet of 65 Voinian, Renegade, Azdgari, and Corocian warships is attacking Liat, and Atlantic Station is about to be destroyed. Already it's been abandoned and with just a few more hits it'll blow up. There is no fleet in Saalia, and you have to give the fleet you attack a chance to defend.
And you also must state how powerful this new beam of yours is, how much it can be used before it overheats, it's range, the UE Supercruiser's speed, ect.
-----------------
The Corocians have started building a third Corocian Supercruiser, the C.R.S. Omega. It will be completed after two posts (the Corocians have some new building techniques, and the Omega was actually started a week ago but I forgot to mention it).
Carnotaur has also speeded up ship production to help build large enough fleets to attack and destroy the UE and Miranu.
Carnotaur: DSN-6849 is one jump northeast of Jax, two jumps northwest of Feviry. It's name is partially obscured on the map behind DSN-2006.

Okay, Thunder, but what government controls it? I must also warn you that that place is about to become a war zone with the Corocian invasion and all.
Pozdag was captured by the Azdgari. The final major attack is on the Liat system, which is continuing.
I'll assume for right now that the Renegades sent the Renegade 8th Fleet-29 ships, Renegade 80th Fleet-30 ships, and Renegade 2nd Fleet-21 ships. Then, the Voinian force in Dogover leaves Outpost Pax, and attacks Eltor. The UE forces are surprised and easily slaughtered by the much larger Voinian/Renegade/Azdgari/Corocian fleet. Then, the Voinians call in twenty-five Supply Ships to build a station in Eltor.
Meanwhile, the Corocians have almost completed work on a new type of hyperdrive. They are now building the prototypes.
Redchigh, I hope you don't mind me controlling the Voinians a bit.
Originally posted by Captain Carnotaur: **Okay, Thunder, but what government controls it? I must also warn you that that place is about to become a war zone with the Corocian invasion and all. **
OOC: Station Unity isn't controlled by any government, really. As I said in my above posts, it's being built by representitives and refugees from many different races. It's an independent space station open to people of all races and governments to come and trade, seek shelter, and for refugees from war-torn areas to come and live. Basically it's part trading outpost, part safe haven, and part refugee colony.
Continuation: Looking on from the outside the construction zone, Thunder could see that Station Unity was coming along quite well. It had grown from a small assemblage of metal and polymer composite beams to what resembled a small crescent shaped portion of broken eggshell, the first hint at the station's spherical design. The engineers involved had decided that a spherical design would best facilitate their plans, since it held the most amount of internal volume for the smallest amount of building material, and they'd need plenty of internal volume to accomidate all the refugees and other people that would someday call Station Unity home.
Construction work had accellerated even further, the fleet having grown now to over 140 ships, with the addition of various ships and crews, including more than a dozen freight couriers and helians from Human independant worlds fearing that their worlds would be the next to fall to the tide of war. These newcomers not only brought new knowledge, expertise, and manpower, but also news of the war. Thunder was shocked at the number of battles that had occured over the last week, and realized that sometime, and possibly sometime soon, Station Unity might find itself near one of these battle fronts. Because of this possibility, Thunder had taken the precaution of changing the message bouy to transmit a new message to ships entering the system. The new message was as follows:
"This system is the future site of Station Unity, a refugee colony, trading outpost, and safe haven open to all governments and races. This is a civilian effort purely designed to help those who are driven from war-torn worlds, to build a new life and new home for them. We have no military ties or intentions. If you wish to offer help with construction, you are welcome. Please, do not interfere with construction and please do not attack us, we are simply trying to make a positive difference in a turbulent galaxy."
Thunder hoped this message would be enough to convince warring factions not to destroy Station Unity, and deprive those in need of the new home and life that they needed...
Carnotaur looked over the latest war reports. The Voinians were stalling the UE in Bakka, and their base in Eltor, Outpost Eltor, was almost complete. Atlantic Outpost had been destroyed, and the attacking fleet departed to the nearest Corocian base. Now the Corocians, along with their allies, had over 100+ ships in the blockade area ready to attack the UE.
Then, he was brought the report on Station Unity. Carnotaur considered it for a moment, and then decided to act. From now on, no Corocian forces will interfere with Station Unity, and the blockade will let ships through that need to get to Station Unity after a thorough inspection and confirmation that they truely want to get to Station Unity, not some other ulterior motive. Carnotaur also ordered that if Station Unity was ever attacked, that any nearby Corocian forces would protect and defend the station (BTW, what type of station is Station Unity? Crescent? UE? Voinian?)
The Renegades were increasing attacks on the Zachit. Now that Tmidor and Pozdag were gone, the Zachit had even less influence over the Renegades in that sector.
Carnotaur also ordered another base be built close to the UE to help with the upcoming offensive. He wanted to make sure that the Corocians were just able to overwhelmed the UE. The new UE Supercruiser would he a problem, but with the prospect of the Corocians having (soon) three Corocian Supercruisers and that each one was more than a match for the UE Supercruiser, Carnotaur was not worried much.

Corocian scientists, headed by Captain Scorcher, have completed the designs for the Corocian Raider. The Raider is actually just an enhanced AW. Here are the specs:
Looks Like: A green and blue AW Shields: 280 Shield Regeneration: 90 Armor: 30 Speed: Better than AW speed Acceleration: 1000 Turning: 3 Weapons: 1-Eight Photon Turrets 2-One Azdara Bay - 6 Azdaras 3-One Corocian Arada Bay - 1 Corocian Arada 4-Three Corocian Pursuit Missile Launchers - 30 Corocian Pursuit Missiles
The Corocian Raider's purpose is to be a hit-and-run attack vessel which can go in, attack and confuse an enemy, raid and capture supplies (the Corocian Arada proves especially useful for doing that while the Raider attacks and distracts the enemy), and then get out with minimal casualties. The Raider can evade and outrun any ship of its size and larger, and even comes with a built-in cloaking device. Entropy, I will send the Demon with the designs for the Raider to Hrekka.
Carno you can't destroy a system in one post!

I fail to see what you mean. Saalia had already been attacked, and I gave the UE a chance to defend themselves. They didn't, the Saalia colony was destroyed, and the fleet then moved onto Liat. I had them attack Liat, gave the UE a chance to defend themselves, they didn't, and so Atlantic Station was destroyed. Pozdag was already under heavy attack. I haven't done anything wrong.
Sorry about that Carno.
The Azdgari start upgrading their fleet with the new technology that has been discovered, in four posts half the AWs will have 8 Azdaras and in seven posts all will have them.
Work is started on a new Azdgari Supercruiser, the Azdgari Wrath.
