Sideswiper Missiles - Kind of like an SAD/SAE launcher except a lot better homing and less damage. Basicly, if you have three of these launchers, you launch 3 Missiles at once like an SAD. Only difference is that it looks like a Needle Missile, the launchers only weigh 20 tons, the ammo weighs nothing, the reload time is faster, homing is better (and goes straight towards the target instead of just flying around), and one missile has the same damage amount as a regular Needle missile. Max ammo should be around 300.
Ion Cannon - A very, very, very weak cannon. It affects a little more on shields but not by much. In fact, it is so weak, the only redeeming qualities is that it overrides the max guns by 5 and weighs 1 ton apiece. So it is basicly a very weak cannon that weighs one ton and 5 more than your max guns can be placed on your ship. So if you have 5 maximum guns, you can put on 10 Ion cannons. Also, if you have a max of 5 guns and say you had 5 Blaze Cannons already on, you can add on 5 Ion Cannons as well. I'm not sure ho it would work but it was just a cool idea I thought of.

this idea comes from a low-tech plug i'm working on-
fusion beam: i got this idea from niven's man-kzin wars. assuming that spacecraft engines are powered by fusion reactors, the reaction can be utilized as a weapon. essentially, it is a rear-firing turret beam that drains prodigious amounts of fuel, has a short range, and doesn't do much damage. EVO doesn't allow rear-firing beams, but you can make a turret beam with blind spots to the front and sides. give it a smallish impact too. and second trigger, of course.

I've also been drawing a 'planet rover'. My idea is that purchasing the rover changes the settings of one or two planets which are normally of the 'Environment is too hostile' variety. When my fifteen ton rover is purchased, the planet(s) may be visited. I don't know how to change the accessability of the planet back after the planet rover is sold... perhaps the mission string would have to end with the destruction of the planet, or its being described as now terraformed enough so anyone can land there.

There are some great ideas on this topic, people! I'm very excited at the prospect of a neutron ram - maybe it should have a HUGE fuel drain when activated? Just PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE don't make the weapons more powerful, lighter, cheaper or better than those already in the game. It would ruin the game balance.

That same weapon is on the plug MadFax7 and i have been working on for the past month or so as well.

Ever think of using captured strand technology, only at higher price so its not a cheat?
Maybe a turn top speed and acceleration module for things like crecsent warships?
How about an outfit that would take away like, 10 tons of cargo but add a extra turret or gun slot?
Wait is the station going to be in South tip north tip or human renegade space? Could make voinian renegades... or strand renegades w/ all strand ships...

How about a weapon jammer? It would work by firing invisible shots, each with a long lifetime, at an very fast pace. All these shots in the current system would exceed Override's max-shots-on-screen limit, thus preventing any other ships from firing their weapons. This could come in handy if you're low on armor and need to get out of a system fast.

How about an engine upgrade that can also be used as a self destruct type emergancy weapon. Course, your ship would have to take a lot of damage too, but hey it's an emergancy! Dont know how well it would work, though.

Higher price? Anybody can amass money. I have a legitimate pilot with 35 million credits, and others have much, much more. It's easy to get 100Kcr a day from dominated worlds. Thus, a higher price does not make an item fair. Ten tons of cargo space for a gun slot? Even fifty tons of cargo would be too little. With your speed and turret mods, we'd all be flying around in killer Miranu Heavy Freighters.
I have already evaluated and deleted several 'extra outfits' plugs because they spoilt the game. There are a lot of people here who can beat EV:O as designed. They want new experiences, not easier combats.
I suppose one principle is that items are only really fair if they are also used against you by AI ships. Another would be that whatever you improve makes something else worse. Look at the extended caro bay; holds ten tons, but costs you 15. Its counterpart likewise holds ten tons of equipment, but costs you 15 tons of cargo space.
I realize, VA, that a high price tag does not make an item "fair." The items I am including in my plug-in are different , but I think that they're about as powerful as normal weapons. So it shouldn't hurt game balance, unless they're cheaper, or less bulky. But don't worry. I'll keep my guard up.
The station is in South Tip Renegade space, sort of near Mavs.

An idea I have: a drone kamikaze ship : it would be a ship carried in a bay, who will have only one weapon: auto-destruction, with an huge explosion at very short range of the target. In fact, it will be an intelligent, killable missile (has just a bit armor).

I like the idea of a killable missile. Call it a cruise missile or something. I'm guessing that this would best be achieved by making the launcher a bay, and the missiles carried fighters. Each 'missile' would have a few points of shielding, and would be equipped with a single shot weapon of near-zero range and a large blast radius. The detonation of its weapon would destroy the 'missile'.
Some thoughts:
I chose shielding instead of armour so you can't disable the things. Maybe the plug designer would choose otherwise.
These missiles would be of infinite range, since there is no way to give a fighter a maximum duration.
They would count against the max. vessels in system tally, and might slow the game down. The number of missiles carried would have to be small.
You could hyper into a system with your missiles already deployed, and they would attack the first hostile they saw - very powerful, but very expensive if they all go after a solitary krait.
The missiles would pass over asteroids without detonation.
They would be impossible to jam - though a rapid-fire weapon would bring them down if you hit the 'R' key often enough. A plasma siphon would also do the trick nicely.
You would get some of your missiles back if the enemy died prematurely, because as fighters they would fly back to your ship and dock.
The missiles could be made more sinister by giving them a very dark, small graphic. These 'stealth missiles' would be hard for a player to react to. Wouldn't bother an AI opponent, though.
As a bay type outfit, all the mass is in the 'launcher', not the 'weapons'... Carrying a single missile would weigh as much as a full load. Annoying.

Once I tried to make a beam like that. It worked, but it seriously bogged down EVO. It made it seem like i was playing on a PC with a bad emulator...
My contribution: The Missle Gun
Purpose: To shoot down enemy missles
How To: Make a weapon like the phase cannon, set damage to -1 in both fields, set the HexFlag that makes it decoy missles.
BTW, anyone mind if I use some of these in Dark Destiny(TC)?
