Anybody have some cool Outfit Ideas?

I'm making a plug-in which adds a space station in Renegade territory that sells one-of-a-kind outfit items. I was hoping for some hot weapon/upgrade ideas. Most of the outfits in this plug will have incredible capabilities at extremely high prices. I've had some good ideas, but my well of inspiration is running dry. Any ideas?

How about an anti-fighter missile? What I mean is a missile that has an incredibly high impact rating, but not much in the way of damage. Like about 5 or 10 times the impact rating the UE rocket has, but the damage and speed ratings of a pursuit missile. The result would be a weapon that when fired at a fighter would knock the fighter halfway across the system. It would be fun to watch! 😄

My technical people recently had an idea for a 'gunpod'. The gunpod is carried in a bay like a fighter, but it has a top speed of zero. In effect, when you dump it out of the ship, it just sits there like a mine.

The gunpod is equipped with a turreted cannon, and it will engage whichever target you choose. (We haven't decided which kind of cannon it mounts yet - it depends largely upon which race we sell the technology to. Probably a blaze cannon, since the renegades are bidding highest right now.)

Gunpods have armour, but no shields. They are controlled by an on-board computer. When the fight is over, or when one of your gunpods is damaged, you simply issue the 'recall' command, and fly over it to pick it up again. The prototype gunpod rack would hold up to eight gunpods, and massed out at eighty tons. We're now working on reducing it to a forty-ton unit carrying four pods; it will be possible to equip the racks in pairs if desired.

An unfortunate accident with an ECM signal during testing resulted in six gunpods opening fire on my chief scientist, Dr. Blagstein. If anyone would like to apply for his position, please visit Cerberus Station.

A Neutron ram, where a ship collides with another ship. Do it like this-
Have a cannon that fires infinately fast, but with a range of zero. The graphic could just be some sort of electrical glow with electrostatic discharges. It sould have good effectiveness and huge impact.

Maybe have some sort of weapon that would send some blast in all 360 degrees. Make it powerful and make it take up 5+ in fuel. It could be like some sort of last ditch save me weapon. Kinda like the one in the last starfighter. I hope someone remembers that movie.

This isn't a new idea by any means, but I'd love to have a flare launcher on my ships. Like the one in EV. I haven't yet found a plug that includes a flare launcher in EV:O.

In EV the flare launcher had mass, but not too much, and the shots didn't add weight (otherwise, they'd have to have been a ton each).

In your only-one-place-you-can-buy-this plug, you'd need a reasonably big maximum ammo load for the flare launcher... When you're in the wrong sector, weapons you can't get ammo for can very rapidly become un-sellable dead weight. Of course, the original flare launcher held 50 shots, which is already generous.

You might not want to make the item a 'flare', for the sake of originality, but it could be called a chaff system, 'window' launcher or just 'countermeasures'.

Hey, that gunpod sounds pretty cool. You could create your own weapon for the pod. But if you use a cannon instead of a turret, you'd have to decide how quickly you'd let your pods turn. Probably better than a turret, as you get rid of the inaccuracy you get from firing turrets at fast fighters.

Or you could have antimissile missiles, which would be like flares except could be launched off to draw missiles away from you, instead of just dropped, or missiles that hunted down other missiles (although I'm not sure if its possible.)

You could have a mine of some kind deploy, no damage to your ship, have it take up 500 units of fuel.

Good one LV. I like the idea of a fuel bomb. I think it should be like seperate feul tank you buy. Will give you one extra hyperspace jump and can be used as a weapon in a pinch.

What about an outfit that drains fuel at maybe, three times the rate of the tractor/repulsor beams, but completely paralyses the enemy.

You could only use it for a couple of seconds but it would be an awsome creation.

An other outfit could be one that launches defence pods(not space mines because that would be too powerful) on death.

For strict play players it would help on missions such as the dreadnaught mission where the last pods could destroy it.

1-Sensor Upgrade - Using the great features of EVO 1.0.2, you can make an outfit like this one be both an IFF Decoder AND Density Scanner. Maybe this could be something like an illegal upgrade created by Renegades who combined a Density Scanner with an IFF Decoder.

2-Renegade Shield Enhancer - Description: This illegal Renegade upgrade shunts drive plasma from your engines directly into your ships shield regeneration matrix. Although expensive and illegal on almost all UE worlds, the Renegade Shield Enhancer can effectively decrease your ships shield regeneration time. However, this upgrade will decrease your ships acceleration a bit... (use Modvalue2 and Modtype2 features in EVO 1.0.2, however don't decrease your acceleration by more than 30)

3-FHC Override - Description: Using special computer virus algorithms, the Hyperspace Flight Control Override will override your ships computer so that your ship can go to hyperspace sooner after leaving a planet. The Renegades find this most useful for when trying to escape pursuing Zachit, UE, or Militia forces.
