Rooster: "Hmm...we are in quite a situation and will most likely be confronted by the Wind Thief in battle. If you have experience and a license with any nation you may work aboard my ship until we find the Wind Thief. Do you?"
NOTE: 18 of the 80 crew members aboard the Zodiac are Emalghan, including my shipwide control officer Echak. 14 are Voinian, and the remaining composition is either Miranu, Azdgari, or Human. If you intend to subdue the entire crew i'm afraid you will be unsuccessful. You may also guess that from their cultural background, most of the Emalghan crew are in the security attachments.
------------------ It is not fear that will destroy you, but the absence of it.
That would be good. Last I knew I had a license with Huron but it might have expired by now. I ran the "gauntlet" several times on trading runs.
------------------ ---------------------- Give them shell! give them solid shot! Damn them, give them anything!
Just remember another thing, I never said even the Emalgha or Voinians wouldn't be affected by the inverse tachyon beam COMPLETELY. I just said it didn't knock them unconcious. Oh, and how could you have Voinian crew members? Nova6 is big time enemies with you and the Voinians are very loyal. Just ask Nova6, he'll agree. All life forms suffer some sort of affect from the inverse beam. Voinians get super bad headaches, making it hard for them to think. Emalgha get sluggish. Not only that, but consols, panels, etc. always explode when an inverse tachyon beam hits a ship, and that might hurt the remaining crew.

Good plan. I am sending 2 Voinian Frigates from my personal fleet to help capture the enemy with their high crews. Feel free to take them under your command, they are a permanent gift. I will also be along myself to oversee this operation.
And by the way, I noticed a previous post about ten Zidaras. I am sending ten A Warships to meet this force. Perhaps I will capture some.
Current fleet status: 3 A Warships+My E A Arada- In Freeport 2 V Frigates- En route to freeport, transfer control to Carno 2 Igazras+2A Warships- Raiding Zachit 10 A Warships- Intercepting Zidaras 1 A Warship- Location classified 4 A Aradas+14 Azdaras- Raiding Zidigar Unknown, large amount of A Aradas and Azdaras on defensive patrol
------------------ Is the answer to this question 'no'?
On the way of getting the last part of Carnos supplies a arada attacks her. After disabling it with a SAD module and her turrets, she makes it an escort. She heads towards carno's base with her new escort.
------------------
Where'd you get Azdgari crew? All my forces are accounted for.
Carno, I think that you forgot about the Voinian traitor in EVO. Some Voinians are just, well, different.
Strandless. Not Azdgari nationality, but Azdgari heritage. As for the Voinians, not all of them are loyal to Novan ideals. I will bring the number of Voinians down to 7, as i agree with your assessment.
OK, agreed.
Send the two Voinian frigates to the Freeport system. From there we are assembling the fleet, and from there we will be scanning the surrounding systems for Rooster. For now, we must wait...
The man on the Zodiac was brought to his quarters by an Emphalga. He took out a small canister from his survival pack and hooked it up to his G44 Powerbook. He wrote something and put the powerbook away. He then took the canister and went to his facilities, he dropped the canister down the tube and it was sucked away.
A few hours later the ships garbage was dumped as it passed a gravity well of a star. The canister was released with it. Once the Zodiac had left the system, the Canister opened up and spread out a satellite dish. It scanned the stars searching for its position then sent a tight beam transmission.
<Transmission Source: Unknown> <Encrypted Tight Beam> <Target: Carnotaur, Freeport> <Begin Transmission> Last known location: Volosc Carno, I am in the Zodiac, have tricked rooster, Zodiac is looking for Wind Theif around Nifal. Send repair ships to Nifal, make a clear path, alert local authorities that you are going to repair a ship in the Nifal system. Do not reply to this transmission. <End Transmission>
Carnotaur got the message and immediately began action. Quickly recruiting two Helians for the job, Carnotaur informed the local authorities that he was sending two Helians to the Nifal system to repair a ship. However, these Helians were specially outfitted and upgraded with special extra weapons and special sensor scanners that could detect ships two jumps away. After doing that, the Helians hyperspaced in and out of the surrounding systems to make a definite hyperspace trail. Then, they waited in the Nifal system. Carnotaur then recruited another Renegade ship identicle to the Wind Thief, and sent it into the Nifal system. There, the Helians would make it look like it was damaged and they were preparing it. Meanwhile, Carnotaur moved his three Azdgari warships and two Voinian Frigates into the DSN-8075 system so they could hyperspace into the Nifal system at a moments notice. Meanwhile, the Red October, Subterfuge, LoneIgadzra, and Lonevoinian's dreadnaught hid in the Nifal system (all the ships except for Lonevoinian under cloak, Lonevoinian is hidden by the protostar and its interference).
Echak: "Sir, we've discovered something rather disturbing in the waste disposal system." Aeshek: "Echak, i'm pretty sure i don't want to hear this story." Echak: "Liam, i'm serious. We weren't able to retrieve it at the time but the scans show that a small duranium canister was included in the waste for Section B of Deck 3." Rooster had just walked into Operations: "Lower Crew Quarters, either an officer or our guest. Investigate this further, but remember it's quite possible it's nothing." Echak: "Yes, sir." With that Echak walked off of Operations toward Security. Aeshek: "If he is an operative, we certainly don't want to tip his hand." Rooster: "True, nothing of the sort. But we can watch him. The only problem is we don't know if they'll be waiting in the next system we enter." The Nav officer couldn't help but interjecting: "Change course for a safehaven then?" Rooster: "Yes, head for Hrinix." Officer: "Through Malago and 8075?" Rooster: "Yes." The Zodiac entered hyperspace.

After a few hours waiting, Lone pulled out of orbit with his 4 Voinian Cruisers and transmits to the fleet: "I can't stay in orbit much longer without repairs. Even a Dreadnaught isn't invincible. I say we call it off, and head for repairs. The Protostar had to have affected you, too, due to the fact that shields are down when you cloak. What do you say, Carno?"

Um, Rooster, you'll still have to go through Nifal to get to Hrinix using the Malango -> DSN-8075 route.
Lone, you would be able to stay in orbit for at least a day without major damage. Your ship would be weakened, but still intact enough. Also, my ships are far enough away from the protostar so we aren't affected (and we aren't cloaked, only when Rooster comes do we actually cloak, sorry, I should have explained that more). Besides, you could have easily justed stayed away from the protostar until we detected Rooster coming. Then you could move in closer. --------------
The captain of the A.R.S. Saboteur sat in the bridge, in the DSN-8075 system, waiting for his orders. Then, suddenly, a message came through from the Helians in the Nifal system. "Rooster's coming into your system! Cloak! Cloak!"
The three Azdgari warships and two Voinian frigates cloaked immediately, just as the Zodiac came through.
--------------
Carnotaur responded to Lonevoinian. "Move away from the protostar and begin to make repairs. Then, on my command, move back towards the star. The two Helians just informed me that Rooster is on his way. Just hold out for a while longer."
Lonevoinian moved to a safer distance away from the protostar and began to make repairs.

Moderation: Carno, your would have taken extensive damage from the Zodiac firing at such close range. Don't forget that the Zodiac had two escorts. You might have been able to disable it and board it but you wouldn't have had enough time to find me. I am still on the ship. Also, your ships have suffered extensive damage and one was disabled trying to take the brunt of the attack while another ship boarded the Zodiac. Please edit your post. ------------------ ---------------------- Give them shell! give them solid shot! Damn them, give them anything!

Realizing that Mavs would likely be well guarded after his rescue of some of the captured marines, and realizing that the supplies stolen from the station during the raid would more than compensate for the ransom, Thunder agrees to pay the ransom to free the 300 captured marines (though I still think the whole battle was handled poorly, since I had no chance to respond to the renegade counterattack and daedalus effectively ordered my troops to retreat. I will yield to the moderators' decision to leave the captives).
Thunder sends a message to the Renegades telling them that the 400,000 credits will be transferred to them via a cargo pod once the 300 Kayans had been safely returned. The exchange is set take place in the Malago system.
To Samurai: "I knew I said we might be attacking Mavs, but that wouldn't be wise given the current situation. It looks like we won't be attacking Mavs after all, such an attack would be suicide. Since it looks like we'll have to wait to make our move against the Renegades, we don't have a specific mission for you right now. Feel free to patrol around Kayan and surrounding space hunting down renegades, or if you'd rather do something else, that's fine too. It's up to you."

Rooster, do you still need me? If not does anyone have a job I could do so I could jump back into the story somehow? Thanks.
------------------ Ganna paint our wagon, Ganna paint it good, We ain't braggin', We're ganna coat that wood!
Not immensely, Buba. I'm sure there are jobs available you'd rather do.
MODERATION: Carnotaur, your posts must at least fit without scrolling in my explorer window at 800x600. That's ridiculous. There were 4 points of action that you decided to simply control me, whether it be my ship jumping away or moving towards something. My jump requires a one post interval, and thus i would be in 8075 after your post. You would be able to make one action waiting for my reaction while in that system. Please edit according to Daedalus' and my moderation.
CONTINUATION: The Zodiac begins to exit hyperspace at 8075 in order to monitor possible activity.
