Anyway, back to the forklifts...
The ideas is that forklifts are actual ships rather than weapons, and they go around system to system, doing whatever forklifts do. I plan to have variants of forklifts, so people don't get bored out of their skulls. The first set of variants are the "goring" kind, from yellow to red, from Manta size to Valkyrie size. They all would have invisible beams in their prongs that are set to negative impact, so that if you are swarmed by a bunch of little ones, they will stick to you like burrs(if you're heavier than they are, anyway). The big ones would just have you gored on a prong(if you're little). And if you have the proper(also relatively heavy and expensive) equipment, you can have a limited amount of forklifts(Edit: the little kind). This brings me to my first important question:
Can you have separate outfits for bays(like, say, you have one outfit to just catch forklifts(and sell them), and one required for you to actually launch them)?
Is this too big?
Anyway, there's another post coming up (hopefully soon). Edit2: Incidentally, what is Qaanol's form?

 And no, assuming the ships you're capturing are of the same type, I don't think that's possible.

Your words bring you ever closer to finding out...

I have suspicions of DBVC....
Anyway, have you seen the topic I started over in the EV Banter and Brawl forum?
Yes. Yes I have.
Did you know that the only TC to ever be released for Nova, called Polycon, was started in 1996?

How so?
Maybe I should change the idea to something more forklift-centered...
I'm thinking along the lines of..
"mankind explores the universe to find something he never would have expected in his wildest dreams... forklifts."
The idea would be that at the time you (the player) comes in, forklifts are a novelty, because the first stellar explorers, (and the second, and the third, and so on), were afraid of becoming laughingstocks if they mentioned it to anyone. And even after it was confided to NASA (or whatever space agency), it remained a big secret because they were afraid of being laughingstocks. The only reason it became widely known was because some genius decided to explore, and discovered that forklift waste consisted of tritium, deuterium( I hope I have these two right) and most importantly, water. At this time humanity is running out of water(if that's even possible, {One word, "recycling" }), so it becomes big news. More of this later, when I have a big brainstorm...
It would be kinda cute to see "Here there be forklifts" on your map....
Do you think this would be received better in the "banter and brawl" or would you like it to stay here for your personal amusement?
(a Seuss TC would be interesting...)
Let me say something before you continue gracing us with your eloquent and fascinating ideas:
A small girl with no legs can start a TC, can come up with an idea , but it takes someone with feet to get the job done.
You get what I'm sayin'?

What's the learning curve for 3D graphic-making? And where's the cheapest program (preferably free and OS 9) for making them?

Depends on the quality you want. To merely make stuff in 3d? Fairly easy. To make stuff for a plugin that people will actually want to look at? Fairly steep. It helps if you already have previous artistic abilities.
<insert basic quote touting Mechanisto>
Really, it is very useful for OS-9ers.
Oy, you should show him the Valk that one person made in Mech. I've seen quite impressive things come from that program.

Slayer LP. Yeah, that was a good one. The movie was a bit fuzzy, though.
I won't even insert my traditional pro-Mechanisto remarks here. Suffice to say that it is more than good enough for Nova usage.
I posess headache, limits my ability to see screen.
Go to the links section, scroll down, and download Mechanisto.

I read somewhere that someone became an Escort AI on accident. Is is possible to do it on purpose(i.e. to the player)?

I have not read that. If you could find the topic, I would be very interested.
Here it is. Post # 11
Now that I look at it, maybe he was kidding...
