Zidagar

I cant do this one mission!!

There is this one mission for the Zidagar that is impossible to do! i have to travel 4 systems away, land, and then travel another two systems. But when i take off from the plante i have to land on it says "mission failed"...ive tried it a million times and it never works!

and tips/help out there for me??

😞

What ship are you using to fly this mission? The size of a ship can increase the amount of time it takes to travel from one system to the next.

That's my thought too. I dont remember much about the game, but I do know, if you try the mission in a miranu courier, you wont have ANY problems with time limits. (As long as you don't waste time.)

It would help if you told us what mission this is, by the way. There are several ways for time to pass in EVO:

1: If you jump to another system, one day will pass. If you ship is not small, then this will increase. One jump will take you two days in a medium size ship, and three in a very large ship.

2:By landing on a planet, two days will pass while you refuel, eat, take off and land, etc.

3:Having escorts will increase the time for landing and taking off a little or a lot depending on how many escorts you have.

If any of these are in excess, you may want to change ship, fire escorts, or whatever.

Welcome to the boards, Jarich.

A little more info will help us help you.

To clarify: landing (or, more accurately, taking off from) a planet (or station, moon, etc) makes 1 day pass. However, it's possible that if you go the outfitter then a total of 2 days will pass when you take off. I haven't tested this. In fact, I've only heard of it once, and that was in connection with EV Nova, so it might not apply to EVO at all.

I believe the mass ranges for jump times are 0-99, 100-199, and 200+.

Also, I believe having escorts makes your jump time equal the jump time of the heaviest of your escorts.

Furthermore, though not related to this thread in any way, there is in fact one EVO mission, in the Azdgari string, which is utterly impossible to beat. You always fail. And you're meant to.

I thought you could succeed in that mission, but the story just wouldn't advance until you failed it one time.

You can beat it as many times as you want, it's just that you'll be stuck on that little almost-uninhabited outpost until you fail it.

No, I don't think that's it. If that were the case, then having only lighter ships as escorts would have no time consequence. Also large ships would benifit from this.

No no no, what he said (or what I got out of it) was that if you have a heavier escort, you have to wait for him, so it takes longer for you to jump.

If you have a light ship with a heavy escort, then you'd travel with the heavy escort, making your jump time three days, not one.

Also, if you visit ANY of the extras (other than the Mission Computer or maybe the Commodity Exchange) it automatically adds another day to take-off time.

Tip? Buy a Lazira. Though it is light, it still has firepower.

It's my favorite ship. 🙂

I know if I am in a captial ship, my jump time increases. Same if I have larger escort ships. But, say I am in an Arada, I thought even one escort added time to your hyperjumps, even if the escort ship was samll. And the more ships, the more time to jump, with max being three days.

Yeah one of mine too, although I really can't pass up an Igazra 🙂 - the only 2-day-jump-capital ship I think.

Speaking of which, I've always thought it rather silly that the UE Destroyer has a 3-day-jump - this just makes it useless for any timed content, i.e. a lot of stuff in Crescent strand missions, which is about the kind of stuff you're getting to at the point you can afford the destroyer (speaking as a non-trader, just cash from missions).

Oddly, in all my time of playing EVO, I never got a lazira. I usually get a arada, then spend some time capturing an Azdgari arada, which is my ship forever after.

Huh. I had never connected having light escorts with having increased jump times before. I'll have to do some testing.

Anyway, the Azdgari Arada is nearly as powerful as the Lazira, and much faster. It's probably the best all-around pre-string ship. Post-string, of course, it's a toss-up between the Enhanced Arada and the Dreadnought.

Regardless, I find I have much more fun piloting a Shuttle or an Emalgha Fighter. The Miranu Gunship is pretty fun as well, as is the Nadir. And nothing can compare to the Strange Asteroid.

Hi...sorry i havent been able to reply for a while

the ship that i have is a UE Cruiser and i have all the escorts possible
the mission that i am doing is "Transport Chemical Weapons to Outpost Plogok" gotten on Fluor in the Zidagar offensive mission set

is there no way for me to do this mission without getting a smaller ship?

I am afraid not.

ah, ok...i did it
now i have completed the three main objectives in EVO
now...to look for some cool plug-ins

Wait, first you must push the game to its limits.... Abuse its rules, desecrate its boundaries, and burn its foundations. You may or may not know the following:

Any mission ship can be captured if the mission the ship is involved with is aborted. This means that the Dreadnought can be flown, or kept as an escort. The Strange asteroid from the Miranu missions is a good one to fly, as well as the Nadir, Enhanced Arada, and more.

Get ResEdit. It is an exellent away to mess with the game. An example of something I generally do on EV:

Due to the supreme power of our lord, Rameretz, the description of this planet has been vanquished.

Many other such possibilities are fun. Changing the sprite of an escape pod to a dreadnought is always amusing, plus many other things. ResEdit can be found at the Add-ons page for EVO.

There are even more ways to abuse the game, but I will leave that to you to figure out.

Yeah. But the coolest thing of them all (I think) is to take over planets without any modifications. Earth never falls to me .. Trust me. 😉

Yeah, dominating the galaxy is an ordeal, but the bragging rights are monumental 🆒
