Okay i have a Zidara, with upgraded speed/turning. EVERY time i try, i beat the voinian dreadnaught. It is really cool. Anyone else had similar experiences? What ships?

I havn´t tried, but I´m sure that you could do it several times. A Igazra with neutron turrets, upgraded turning, rockets/space mines, needle launcher w/999n. I think it would be EASY with that ship!

For a real challenge, use an unmodified Krait! There are some who claim to do it with a Shuttle, but I think that's only for very very very patient masochists.

The tactic I used was maxing out pursuit missles in my Igadzra warship and just sat back and launched for a few hours. It took a while to launch them all because you have to wait for a clear shot through the asteroids since pursuit missles home in on them.
Unfortunately that pilot is history with EVO 1.0.2, now I'm back in the good old days with a freight courier...

Actually, it really doesn't matter much what ship you use. Here are the two most important facts:
1)The Dreadnaught is the slowest ship in the game
2)The Dreadnaught has a firing center in the middle of it's massive sprite
Therefore, anyone can easily just pull a monty python on the thing. For the un-initiated, this means stopping, getting the Dreadnaught to chase you. Then, turn away from it and let it catch up so that you can juuuust see it. Match your speed to that of the Dreadnaught. Turn around and start firing. The Dreadnaught will continue to chase you but will not fire back.
Even with a ship using 5 neutron turrets and a heck of a lot of secondary weapons, this is a looooong slooooow battle. But, since you are always hitting the Dreadnaught, and the Dreadnaught never fires back, it is theoretically possible to do this all in a shuttlecraft. I know I won't do it, because I'm not a massochist, but it can be done.
------------------ Don't don't don' let's start. This is the worst part. To believe for all the world that you're my precious little girl. Don't don't don' let's start. I've got a big heart, and I don't get around how you... get around.
Yes, the dreadnought itself is easy with even the smalest ship, but it´s the fighters that is the problem, they will actuly be harder than the dreadnought itself! I havn´t tried so I´m not sure, but I think so. I got a question for you all, is there any one out there that use the Krait as his/her regular ship?
yeah, the fighters are a problem, but only for a while. Four UE destroyers show up, and they should dispatch all of the other ships before taking on the Dreadnaught. By the time the dust has settled, in my experience, the Dreadnaught (already wounded) is the only ship left for you to pull a monty on.
For those not interested in spending such a tedious ammount of time on the MP method, here's what to do:
1.Get a UE Cruiser
2.Get four sheild upgrades, dospect armor, five neutron turrets, and secondary weapons of your choice.
3.Impress Crescent ships into servitude. Igazdras, Zidagars, Crescent Warships, Laizras and others all make good escorts, and with four sheild upgrades on a UE Cruiser, you get better than 65% capture chances on all of them. Get six of them (that's the limit).
4.Kick ass on anyone and anything. Hehe.. seriously, though, after I deploy my five UE Fighters, and the three Zidagars I have as escorts deploy their two Zidagar fighters, thats a total of 18 ships that will be firing on one (Me+three Igazdras+three Zidagars+six Zidagar Fighters+five UE fighters=18!). There isn't a single ship in the game which can withstand that kind of firepower.

Even better...get a Igazra, and upgrade it. Capture as many Azadari Warships as possible! Now, that is serious firepower!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That would crush your fleet!

Well if I'm in a hurry(want to move onto futher missions) I just do a couple things and usually destroy it in a scoutship(shuttles the best I've done). I usually do the pax missions and when you get 4 escorts you simple don't go to Pax, in 1.02 you'll always have 4 UE ships( even if they get destroyed) Then I go to outpost alpha and get a bunch of "intercept fleet", or "intercept merchant fleet". And head to the system and let the 12 destroyers, 4 carriers kill every ship in the system, I go in and shoot the dreadnaught once and viola I'm 2.25 mill richer and ultimate in combat status. Then I use the 4 escorts and afterburners and finish the find Anna and needle missile missions, and then I have almost enough for a Cruiser. I usually upgrade from a scoutship directly to a cruiser :).

A needle launcher only carries 250 needles :).

By the way. The fighters aren't tough to beat are very annoying. I suggest getting rid of those before attempting to destroy the Dreadnought. Not only do they kick you while you're down, but they distract your friends/escorts from helping you destroy it.

One time, my escorts (I didn't have any besides the ones that came with the mission) all swooped at the same time and killed it in nearly no time with hardly any help from me. I guess the Dreadnought couldn't focus on any one target and just kept switching from one to the other while all of them focused on it...

Well, I take exception to that on two counts. Firstly, I like the UE Cruiser better, just cause!! Hehe, actually I'm pretty sure that the Cruiser makes it much easier to capture ships, which is why it's better for this.
Secondly, the Azadari Warships are good escorts, yes, BUT (and it's a big but), with more than one of them as an escort, it can be a real burden. Especially for missions where other ships hyperspace in to attack you, it can prevent you from finishing the mission. Once EVO reaches a certain number of ships, it simply won't allow more on screen, and will prevent the ships you need to kill from even showing up! Bleah! Even without that, it's visually confusing to see all those little guys flying around all the freaking time.
I like Igazras better as escorts cause they have a LOT of secondary firepower to pump out, and Zidagars are good too, cause they're fast, pack a punch, and the two fighters they have aren't that much of a burden (in fact they can be pretty potent).
So basically, you wouldn't crush my fleet, because you couldn't possibly deploy all the little guys. hehehehehe
Oh, and Dragon, that's so freaking cool! I never thought of that, although I did notice that it's a good thing to accept more than one Zachit: Termination missions at once, because the fighters just pile up.

I didn´t know about that but, but it would crush your fleet it there wasn´t any but! Cya all.
