In the not so distant past, the official EV/EVO web site wasn't updated that frequently. When developers released plugins, it would take quite a bit of time for them to actually be released on the web site.
Now of course, when you've finished something you've worked hard on, you are very anxious for people to see it, give you feedback on it, etc. The net result of this is that the plugin developers had to take matters into their own hands, create a whole web site/download area for their plugin, and hope people would find it.
I'd like to bring the archives back as a central, up-to-date place for people to get plugins of all sorts, and undo the slow damage of neglect that caused them to fall into disrepair over the years.
I call it Project Plugin.
I think we're finally starting to get things back in gear -- files uploaded to the new Add On Files area are generally released within a day or two, and things are looking up for EV/EVO fans looking for a central place to find all of the plugins their commanding little hearts desire.
As a result, I'd like to ask for your assistance. There are three major things you can do to help (and everyone in the EV/EVO community will benefit from the little bit of help you can give):
EVO: (url="http://"http://www.AmbrosiaSW.com/games/evo/addons.html")http://www.AmbrosiaS...evo/addons.html(/url) EV: (url="http://"http://www.AmbrosiaSW.com/games/ev/addons.html")http://www.AmbrosiaS.../ev/addons.html(/url)
ev@AmbrosiaSW.com
...so the admins can get it taken care of with alacrity. Thanks for any help you can contribute to Project Plugin.

You're going to have to be more specific if you expect your problem to be looked into and possibly solved. What computer, what OS version, what browser are you using, are you running any special software, what links (paste the URLs in) have you tried that do not work, and any other details you can provide.

Are you sure you want people other than the actual developers uploading some of the plug-in files? By doing that, you risk inaccurate or not-developer-approved descriptions, and there is also the possibility that the file isn't exactly the same way as the developer had it originally.

Plug-ins should be binhexed for easy downloading. Anybody can decode binhex, but some times I, and others, have problems downloading without it.
Have you got a way to include carriage returns, <br>, or <p> in the descriptions? When I uploaded Secession 1.5, they all disappeared, making the description essentially illegible. Thanks!

Having the original author do it is obviously ideal -- but it's also impractical and even impossible in some cases -- so it's better than not having them at all. We'll make sure the descriptions are good.

All tags are stripped from the descriptions, for security reasons. For now, that's the way it is. It's possible in the future this will change, but it is not a priority.
Are there any major plugins that are not in the EV Override Add On Files archives?

If so, let me know, so I can get them uploaded there.
