Rookie Questions

Hello again all - thanks for the help in your previous posts.

I have ventured north and actually i think I have the entire map unfolded - I currently have a Lazira but along the way I have fugitive status in the United Earth systems. I don't know how that happened? I didn't shoot anything that wasn't voinian or renegade. Could it have been from aborting missions they gave me to protect their systems??

Also - up north I haven't seen anything in the mission computers so all i can do to make money is to trade. Is that all that happens up there?? What do I need to do to get offered missions??

Oh wait - one more - I have a damn shuttle as an escort and I want to get rid of it, any tips on how to lose an excort??

You probably aborted the Voinian Dreadnaught mission, I hate when that happens :frown:..

For North Tip (Well, the missions allow you to deliver cargo in any part of the galaxy :)) missions, go to Blaga (Miranu) and get the job with the shipping company. They offer really good missions all over the galaxy.

To get rid of escorts, type option-tab (or whatever your ship select key is) and hail your shuttle when you select it.

Not forgetting to go to Mira (Mirava system) first and open up contact between the Miranu and the humans. This will also have the happy by-product of opening up all the Strand missions to you. Have fun

You say go to Mirva and open up trade missions? What is this about diplomatic relations? Where do I take the papers to for the mission??

Any help would be appreciated.

Also - how do I keep my escorts from finishing off ships so I can plunder them? Every time I disable one - my slow escorts catch up and blaze cannon it to death. Grrrrrr.

Assuming you haven't changed your preferences, you can just press "V" and they should acknowledge your request for them to hold their position. You can open up the preferences window and change that. It's under the Escort section.

Well, friend, you probably abandoned UE to their fate with the voinians, and that's why they hate you.

Tip: Disable Renegade vessels and take their miney and cargo. NOt only do you get rich, but after wrecking enough of them and getting a deadly rating, you can stop off at Zachit station and get escort or interception missions there.

Shame on you, Zacha, for not mentioning that in your post! )
