I can't believe I made it all the way to Ob and Ed without knowing what is meant by "side scrolling game." Would you be kind enough to explain it to me? I love this game. Thanks to you, Ben.

Side scrolling just means that the game-play area expands to the right and left instead of being confined to just the size of the game window or your monitor size.
Enjoy the game!

It also means that the view is essentially 2D, not 3D like, say, Quake. Ferazel's world is a lot like an ant farm in that respect; he can go left, right, up, and down, but not in and out.

The game style of Ferazel's Wand is also known as a "platform scroller". That name came about back in the days of the original Mario Bros. (and maybe with some games before that?) and was based on the fact that there were platforms that Mario could jump onto (even though the majority of said platforms were unexplicably floating in mid-air :))
